Antonio “Rayito” Rayo Signs with SESAC Latina

It’s a new deal for Antonio Rayo… 

SESAC Latina has signed the Spanish composer and producer, known as Rayito.

His notable writing credits include Shakira’s “Me Enamoré” and Karol G’s “Mi Cama” and “Punto G.”

Originally from Madrid, Rayito was touring as a flamenco guitarist at the age of 8, and recorded his first album when he was 10. 

At just 15, he moved to Miami and began collaborating with Latin pop stars. Rayito previously had a publishing deal with Sony Music.

Among Rayito’s other credits, he wrote and produced several tracks on Ricky Martin’s 2015 album A Quien Quiera Escuchar and co-wrote Diego Torres’ hit single “Hoy Es Domingo.

The 40-year-old Colombian superstar’s latest single “Perro Fiel,” featuring Nicky Jam, crowns Billboard’s Latin Pop Songs airplay chart (dated December 2) as the track jumps 2-1 with a 2 percent rise in detections at the format in the week ending November 19.

The song earns Shakira her 18th No. 1 on the chart and her third in 2017 — she previously topped the list for five consecutive weeks with “Me Enamoré,” and seven weeks with “Chantaje,” featuring Maluma.

The latter track began its rule at No. 1 in December 2016, spending a total of 10 weeks atop the chart. Shakira maintains her lead among women with the most No. 1s on the list.

She’s second overall, trailing only Enrique Iglesias, with 22.

Shakira to Release New Album “El Dorado” This Month

The 40-year-old Colombian superstar is set to release her forthcoming album, El Dorado, on May 26.

The Grammy and Latin Grammy winner announced the release date of her 11th studio album to her millions of followers on social media, along with revealing the album cover in which the “Me enamoré” singer appears half submerged in a earth-toned liquid bath.

El Dorado follows the chart-topping singer’s 2014 self-titled album.

Ahead of the new LP, Shak dropped the feel-good, pop track “Me enamoré,” which arrived at No. 11 on Billboard‘s Hot Latin Songs chart dated April 29.

Shakira, who won the 2017 Billboard Latin Music Award for hot Latin songs artist of the year, female will perform at Univision’s Upfront presentation on May 16 at New York City’s Lyric Theater.

The 40-year-old Colombian superstar’s earns her 37th career hit on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart as “Me Enamoré” bows at No. 11 on the chart dated April 29.

The song, the second single from her forthcoming album, is an ode to Shakira’s relationship with Spanish soccer star Gerard Pique.

The track lifts 168 percent at radio (to 8.2 million audience impressions in the week ending April 16, according to Nielsen Music), triggering a 42-12 jump on the Latin Airplay chart after debuting with partial week data following its April 7 release.

The song arrives with 1.1 million U.S. streams and 7,000 downloads in the week ending April 13.

Shakira is tied with Ana Gabriel for the third-most Hot Latin Songs hits among women. Ednita Nazario leads with 52, followed by Olga Tañón with 38.

The 40-year-old Colombian superstar has released a new single titled “Me enamoré” after teasing the track on social media just a few hours before and sending a personalized postcard to a few lucky fans to tell them about the song.

“Very happy to share with all of you my new single ‘Me enamoré.’ This song narrates a moment in my life when I was so in love that I was literally climbing trees,” Shak writes in the card with a photo of her hugging a tree. “Let me know when you guys receive the postcard by posting a selfie with the hashtag #MeEnamoré. I really want to see all of you again. Thank you for your love and support, I have the best fans ever. Love you guys.”

The upbeat track talks about falling in love with lyrics like: “I never thought it would be like this, I didn’t think you’d fall for me … With you, I’d have 10 kids, but let’s start with a pair.”

“Me enamoré” follows Shakira’s hit collaborations, including the Latin Grammy-winning song “La bicicleta” with Carlos Vives, “Chantaje” with Maluma and Prince Royce‘s latest chart-topping bachata tune “Deja Vu.”
