Maurice Compte Signs with Zero Gravity Management for Representation

Zero Gravity Management has signed the Cuban-American actor-producer.

Maurice CompteCompte is best known for portraying Pablo Escobar’s nemesis, Colonel Horacio Carillo, in the first two seasons of Netflix’s Narcos.

His other major credits include his villainous turn opposite Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Peña in David Ayer’s police actioner End of Watch, and the STXfilms crime drama, Den of Thieves, in which he appeared alongside Gerard Butler.

Compte currently appears as Detective Mike Duarte on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and has also been seen on such notable series as Mayans M.C.Breaking Bad, Power and From Dusk Till Dawn, among others.

Other notable film credits include Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Ayer’s DEA crime pic, Sabotage.

As a burgeoning producer, Compte’s goal is to spotlight elevated and visceral stories with authentic cultural underpinnings. He is currently a co-executive producer on Hotel Cocaine — an upcoming crime drama from Narcos creator Chris Brancato that’s headed to MGM+. The show tells the story of Miami’s infamous Hotel Mutiny, where Compte’s father Roman was general manager during the drug-fueled 1980s.

Maurice Compte has new representation…

The Cuban American actor, best known for his role as tough Colombian cop Carillo on the first two seasons of Netflix’s Narcos, has signed with APA (Agency for the Performing Arts) in all areas.

Compte, who stars as Kevin on Mayans MC, has also starred as high-level drug dealer Diego on the hit Starz series Power, and a season-long arc on From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series.

He’s also appeared on Kevin Can WaitThe Last ShipCSI24Burn NoticeLie To MeSouthland and most recently on the CW’s In The Dark.

On the film side, Compte also recently starred in Den Of Thieves opposite Gerard Butler, and appeared in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.

Eddie Alcazar’s “Perfect” to Have Its World Premiere at This Year’s SXSW Festival

The world premiere of the Latino director’s sci-fi thriller Perfect, executive produced bySteven Soderbergh, is set for the South by Southwest Interactive Festival (SXSW).

In Perfect, a boy in a cold and stark modern house in a vaguely science fiction world is seduced by advertisements of perfection to install implantable characteristics directly into his body. The implants heal his dark, twisted visions, but come with a corporeal cost. He persists on applying them, hoping to reach perfection, but ultimately discovers that purity of mind is not exactly as he’s imagined.

The film is produced by Alcazar and Javier Lovato for Brainfeeder Films, with Garrett Wareing, Courtney Eaton, Tao Okamoto with Maurice Compte and Abbie Cornish.

Alcazar previously directed Tapia for HBO, and FUCKKKYOUUUa Sundance selected short scored by Flying Lotus, which also did the music for Perfect.  

Compte to Appear on Starz’s Hit Crime Drama “Power”

Maurice Compte is powering up…

The Latino actor has landed a recurring role on the upcoming fourth season of Starz’s hit crime drama series Power.

It follows James “Ghost” St. Patrick, a drug kingpin living a double life who in Season 4 seeks to find redemption.

Compte will play Maurice, a high-level drug dealer.

Compte is best known for his role as tough Colombian cop Carillo in Netflix’s Narcos. He has also been cast in the upcoming feature Den of Thieves, co-written and directed by Christian Gudegast.

Power returns for its fourth season this summer.

Compte to Star on El Rey Network’s “From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series”

It’s a new Dawn for Maurice Compte

The Cuban American actor has joined the cast of From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series for Season 3.

Compte will portray Brassa, a mysterious, Rasputin-like figure who takes on the outlaw Gecko brothers on Robert Rodriguez’s television take on his cult 1996 film for his El Rey Network.

Season 3 will continue the Gecko brothers’ saga as they fight their way through the world of culebras, the vampire-snake hybrids that control hidden empires in Texas and Mexico.

Seth (D.J. Cotrona) and Richie (Zane Holtz) made a run for the border two years ago and ran headlong into a bar full of bloodsuckers and bandits, facing off with the vampire goddess Santánico (Eiza Gonzalez). The Geckos joined her cause, and they settled an old score. It won them a place in the culebra world. Now that world is about to explode, and new enemies are gathering – dark forces hell bent on destruction and domination. It’s up to the Geckos to stop them, but they can’t do it alone.

Compte appeared in the Netflix series Narcos and guested this year on Hawaii Five-O and Rush Hour.

He recently wrapped roles in the features Going Under and The True Memoirs of an International Assassin.
