Disney Releases New Trailer for “Cinderella” Featuring a Peek at Bonham Carter as the Fairy Godmother

Cinderella isn’t the only one getting a makeover…

Disney has released a sneak peek at its upcoming live-action fairy tale Cinderella, featuring Helena Bonham Carter as the Fairy Godmother getting her own magical makeover.

The clip was released on New Year’s Eve, appropriately enough, at the stroke of midnight.

In addition to a closer look  Bonham Carter’s chartacter, the 60-second video — posted on the movie’s official Twitter account — offers more glimpses at the infamous glass slippers, the coach and other iconic images associated with the fairy tale.

Kenneth Branagh directs the live-action retelling of the classic story, starring Cate Blanchett as the wicked stepmother and Downton Abbey‘s Lily James as Ella.

When the trailer for the movie was released in November, it was viewed 4.2 million times on YouTube and 33 million times on Facebook in the first 24 hours, the biggest showing in history for a Disney movie, excluding Marvel Comics releases.

Cinderella opens in theaters on March 13.

Rodriguez Joins Voice Cast of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Big Hero 6”

The 26-year-old Venezuelan- and Cuban-American actress has been added to the voice cast of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ fall feature Big Hero 6.

The film centers on a young robotics prodigy named Hiro Hamada and his robot companion Baymax, who pull together a team of crime fighters to save the city of San Fransokyo.

Rodriguez will voice the character of Honey Lemon, a chemistry whiz. Don’t let her glasses and funky fashion fool you: Honey may be as sweet as her namesake, but she has a fire in her belly and a can-do attitude that make her pretty much unstoppable. Her knowledge of alchemy proves powerful, too, when the effusive brainiac becomes part of the “Big Hero 6” and creates clever concoctions that when thrown, can get her team out of nearly any jam.

In addition to Rodriguez, the voice cast includes Maya Rudolph, James Cromwell, Damon Wayans Jr., T.J. Miller, Alan Tudyk, Jamie Chung and Daniel Henney.

Big Hero 6 is the first Disney film to feature Marvel Comics characters and is adapted by Don Hall and Jordan Roberts from the Marvel comic mini-series of the same name, whose team and characters were created by Man of Action’s Duncan Rouleau and Steven T. Seagle.

Hall and Bolt‘s Chris Williams co-directed the film, which hits theaters in 3D on November 7.

Ramirez Hints at Possibly Starring in Marvel’s “Doctor Strange”

The 37-year-old Venezuelan actor has hinted that he may be starring in Marvel’s film adaptation of the Doctor Strange comics.

While speaking with IGN about his upcoming supernatural thrillerDeliver Us from Evil, Ramirez revealed that he’d been “talking” with director Scott Derrickson about joining the film.

“We’re talking. We’ve been talking,” he said cryptically.

Marvel is currently still looking for a perfect actor to play Stephen Strange a.k.a. Dr. Strange. Jared Leto has been mentioned as a possible frontrunner for the title role, especially after new reports emerged saying that he wouldn’t be replacing Will Smith in Brilliance.Tom Hardy and Benedict Cumberbatch are also rumored to be in contention for the role.

Casting is expected to start in a month or two, while production is scheduled to begin in spring 2015. No specific release date has been set for the film at this time.

After Deliver Us from Evil hits U.S. theaters on July 2, Ramirez will next be seen in The Liberator and Hands of Stone.

20th Century Fox/Marvel Comics has released the latest trailer for X-Men: Days of Future Past, featuring the 32-year-old Mexican actor who appeared on FOX’s serial killer drama series The Following.

Canto joins the cast of the latest superhero action flick, starring as the mutant Sunspot.

In addition to Canto, the cast includes Ellen Page’s Shadowcat, Daniel Cudmore’s Colossus and Shawn Ashmore’s Iceman, as well as Fan Bingbing’s Blink, Omar Sy’s Bishop and Booboo Stewart’s Warpath.
