The new “supergroup,” which goes by the name of NHC (that’s N for Navarro; H for Hawkins; and C for Chaney), features Hawkins taking duties for lead vocals and drums, Navarro wielding the axe and Chaney playing bass.

NHC, reads a statement, is the result of “pure, unharnessed creativity and the world’s biggest Mutual Appreciation Society,” guys who’ve been in each other’s orbit in the Los Angeles rock scene for longer than any of them can recall.

The trio announce themselves to the music world with the release of two tracks, the speed-thrills “Feed The Cruel” and the laid-back “Better Move On.”

They’ll play the songs, and others, when they make their live debut at this year’s Ohana Festival, to be held October 2 in Dana Point, CA.

In addition to solo work, Navarro has performed with Jane’s Addiction, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Deconstruction, Janet Jackson, Camp Freddy, Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson and Guns N’ Roses, among others.
