Netflix to Premiere Season 2 of Drama Series “You,” Featuring Jenna Ortega, Next Month

Netflix will premiere the second season the Penn Badgley drama You, featuring the 17-year-old Puerto Rican and Mexican American actress in a key role, on December 26.

Season 2 of the former Lifetime, which will appearexclusively on the streaming service, will once again follow bookstore manager Joe Goldberg (Badgley). 

In the freshman season, which was based on Caroline Kepnes’ bestselling novel and aired on Lifetime, Goldberg becomes obsessed with his customer Guinevere Beck (Elizabeth Lail), using social media and the Internet to stalk her.

The show’s sophomore run is based loosely on the author’s second book in the series, titled Hidden Bodies, and will stream under the Netflix Originalsbanner. It will follow Goldberg to Los Angeles, where he meets Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti), an aspiring chef that isn’t into social media like his previous leading lady.

In addition to Ortega, who will portray Ellie Alves, James Scully will also appear in a key role inSeason 2, with Ambyr Childerspromoted to series regular and Carmela Zumbado joining as a regular. Chris D’Elia, Adwin Brown, Robin Lord Taylor, Marielle Scott, Melanie Field, Magda Apanowicz, Danny Vasquezand Charlie Barnettare set to recur in Season 2.

The series is produced by Berlanti Productions, Man Sewing Dinosaur andAlloy Entertainmentin association with Warner Horizon Scripted Television.

Ortega’s previous credits include Elena of Avalor, Stuck in the Middle, Jane the Virginand Bizaardvark.

Camila Perez to Appear on FX’s Limited Series “Teacher”

The Colombian actress is set to appear on FX’s limited series Teacher.

Kate Mara and Nick Robinson will star in the 10-episode series, which is based on Hannah Fidell’s buzzy 2013 Sundance Film Festival feature, starring and executive produced by Mara.

A Teacherexplores the story behind the mugshot of a female high school teacher (Mara) caught in an affair with her male student (Robinson), revealing the complexities and consequences of these illegal relationships. 

Perez will appear in a recurring role, alongside Rya Kihlstedt, Cameron Moulène and Ciara Bravo. Series regulars include Ashley Zukerman, Marielle Scott, Shane Harper and Adam David Thompson. 

Fidell, who wrote, directed and produced the film, will pen the adaptation, direct and executive produce the limited series.

Perezportrays Alison, Eric’s socially conscious and well-meaning ex-girlfriend. Bravoportrays Mary.

Perez recently recurred on Starand Gotham.

Bravo played Emma on Red Band Society.She was most recently seen on YouTube’s Wayne, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service.

Catalina Sandino Moreno to Guest Star on HBO’s Anthology Series “Room 104”

The 38-year-old Colombian actress, who earned an Academy Award nomination her breakthrough starring role in Maria Full of Grace, will appear in the 12-episode third season of HBO’s late-night, comedy anthology series Room 104.

Room 104 tells unique and unexpected tales of the characters who pass through a single room of a typical American chain motel. While the room stays the same, every episode of the series features a different story, with the tone, plot, characters, and even the time period, changing with each installment.

Tapping into a variety of genres, from dark comedy to poignant drama to musical romance, the stories and characters featured in season 3 include: a man searching for a cure to his chronic skin condition; the caretaker of an exotic animal looking to make a sale; estranged siblings reuniting to make an investment; and more.
