Kali Uchis & Karol G Release New Single “Labios Mordidos”

Kali Uchis has teamed up with Karol G for a lip-biting new single…

The 29-year-old Colombian-American singer and songwriter and the 32-year-old Colombian superstar have joined voice the release the catchy new single “Labios Mordidos,” marking their second collaboration this year.

Karol G & Kali UchisThe pair previously teamed up for the highly successful single “Me Tengo Que Ir” from Karol G’s Mañana Sera Bonita (Bichota Season) earlier this year.

Produced by Manuel Lara and Albert Hype, the sweltering reggaeton cut sees the two indulging in risqué flirtation.

“The girl is on fire and sticks to me like a tattoo/ I guarantee there’s no one harder than you,” Kali seductively croons in Spanish. Meanwhile, Karol responds with her hushed coo: “I guarantee there’s no one more chimba than you … The baby is aggressive with that cute face/ That tattoo on her back left me breathless.”

“I’m so excited for the Kuchis to finally have one of my favorite songs on Orquídeas with one of my favorite artists Karol,” Uchis said in a statement. “I hope this brings everyone lots of holiday cheer and you make plenty of memories going into the new year with this song!”

During Karol G’s opening performance of the 2023 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, November 19, La Bichota teased fans with a snippet of the song.

As anticipation builds for Uchis’ fourth album, Orquídeas, due January 12, “Labios Mordidos” emerges as the third single, offering a tantalizing preview of what’s to come. The song follows the vintage bolero-style song “Te Mata” and the Dominican dembow of “Muñekita” with El Alfa and JT.

“The orchid is the national flower of Colombia, and we have more species of orchid than anywhere on earth,” Uchis said last month. “I always felt distinctly intrigued and magnetized by the flower. This album is inspired by the timeless, eerie, mystic, striking, graceful and sensual allure of the orchid. With this vast scope of fresh energy, I wish to redefine the way we look at Latinas in music.”

The album will feature more collaborations, including with Peso Pluma, Rauw Alejandro and more. Orquídeas is Uchis’ second all-Spanish release.

Uchis entered a total of six Billboard Year-End Charts, including the Top Latin Artists chart at No. 32 and Top R&B Artists at No. 11. In October, she concluded her Red Moon in Venus Tour with sold-out performances across the U.S.

Sebastian Yatra Teams Up with John Legend for Bilingual “Tacones Rojos” Remix

It’s a Legend-ary moment for Sebastian Yatra.

The 27-year-old Colombian singer and songwriter has joined voices with John Legend for a new bilingual remix of his track “Tacones Rojos,” which was originally released in fall 2021.

Sebastian Yatra & John LegendFive months later, Yatra joins forces with Legend on the feel-good dance-pop track that maintains its essence. “When you have a song you love so much, you want to give it to someone who has a stroke of genius like John has, and who will keep the essence instead of just a translation,” Yatra previously told Billboard.

On the new version, Legend begins the track by singing, “There’s a light in my window, a smile on my face/ You’re giving me a new light, a new day/ Your love is like magic/ I feel like I can fly/ I’m kissing the sky.” Yatra then taps in, singing in both Spanish and English. “My piece of sunshine/ The girl of my eyes,” goes the chorus.

“John is miraculously talented and musically, he can go anywhere. He’s someone I admire, and vocal-wise, it’s very intriguing to see how he’s going to sound in a song like this because of his vocal capacity,” Yatra previously said.

“Tacones Rojos,” which marks their first collaborative effort, sweetly references a woman who’s charming and beautiful, especially when she’s wearing her red heels. Legend wrote the English lyrics to the song, which Yatra originally co-wrote with Juan Jo, Lofty, Manuel Lara, and Pablo.

“It has such a beautiful sunny vibe,” Legend expressed in a statement. “It’s about meeting someone new who brings love, light, and wonder into your life. I love that energy and that we were able to create something new together for this lovely song.”

“Tacones Rojos” hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart in February, becoming Yatra’s 10th No. 1 on that chart, and his fifth from his album Dharma.

Tainy Tops Billboard’s End-of-Year Hot Latin Songs Producers Chart

Tainy is a producer on top…

The 32-year-old Puerto Rican record producer and songwriter comes in at No. 1 on Billboard’s end-of-year Hot Latin Songs Producers chart.

TainyIn all, Tainy placed 25 tracks on the chart during the eligibility period of November 21, 2020, through Nov. 13, 2021 to rank at the summit.

The list includes hits like Bad Bunny and Jhay Cortez‘s “Dákiti,” Selena Gomez‘s “De Una Vez” and one of his most recent hits “Lo Siento BB:/” with Julieta Venegas and Bunny.

Other top 10 producers on the chart include Edgar Barrera. He boasts a wide-ranging list of tracks that go from a salsa anthem, “De Vuelta Pa’ La Vuelta,” to an urban smash hit such as “Imposible Amor.”

In addition to Tainy and Barrera, Ovy on the Drums, Mora and Sky Rompiendo have made this year’s 10 Latin producers list after ruling the charts this year.

Billboard’s year-end music recaps represent aggregated metrics for each artist, title, label and music contributor on the weekly charts dated Nov. 21, 2020, through Nov. 13, 2021. The rankings for MRC Data-based recaps reflect equivalent album units, airplay, sales or streaming during the weeks that the titles appeared on a respective chart during the tracking year. Any activity registered before or after a title’s chart run isn’t considered in these rankings. That methodology detail, and the November-November time period, account for some of the difference between these lists and the calendar-year recaps that are independently compiled by MRC Data.

Bad Bunny & Jhay Cortez’s “Dákiti” — The song debuted and peaked at No. 1 on the chart dated Nov. 14, 2020. Has spent a total of 27 weeks atop the chart, 20 in 2021, the most for any Latin track.

  1. Ovy on the Drums

Karol G, Anuel AA & Bad Bunny’s “Location” — Part of her chart-topping album KG0516, this Western-inspired, country-tinged empowering anthem peaked at No. 6 on Hot Latin Songs.

  1. MORA

Anuel AA’s “Dictadura” — one of Anuel’s newest songs, the reggaeton hit peaked at No. 12 on the tally in November. The track was the first single off the singer’s new album, Las Leyendas Nunca Mueren, which launched at No. 1 on the Top Latin Albums chart (dated Dec. 11).

Bad Bunny’s “Maldita Pobreza” — The alternative track may not be one of Bunny’s highest charting titles, but it is part of his history-making album El Último Tour del Mundo. On Hot Latin Songs, “Maldita Pobreza” peaked at No. 12.

J Balvin & Sech’s “Una Nota” — In September, Balvin and Sech’s collab peaked at No. 11 on Hot Latin Songs.

Gera MX and Christian Nodal’s “Botella Tras Botella” — In May,  Nodal and newcomer Gera MX’s “Botella Tras Botella” debuted at No. 60 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart (dated May 8), becoming the first regional Mexican title to enter the list in its almost 63-year history. On the Hot Latin Songs chart, the track peaked at No. 3.

  1. Mr. Naisgai

Rauw Alejandro’s “Todo De Ti” — A No. 2 peak (Sept. 11-dated tally), it’s Rauw’s highest-charting title.

  1. Albert Hype

Selena Gomez & Rauw Alejandro’s “Baila Conmigo” — One of the first single’s off Gomez’s first-ever Spanish-language album titled Revelación, the track debuted and peaked at No. 4 on the tally.

  1. Keityn

Maluma’s “Sobrio” — The reggaeton song premiered in July to a star-studded music video that has raked in more than 155 million views on YouTube. “Sobrio” peaked at No. 11 on the Hot Latin Songs chart (dated July 24).
