Bruno Mars Scores Fourth Week at No. 1 on Billboard Global 200 & Billboard Global Excl. U.S. Charts with Lady Gaga-Collab “Die With a Smile”

The 38-year-old part-Puerto Rican Grammy-winning artist’s collaboration with Lady Gaga, “Die With a Smile,” has notched a fourth total and consecutive week at No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts.

Bruno Mars“Die With a Smile” tops the Global 200 with 117.4 million streams (up 5% week-over-week) and 9,000 sold (up 1%) worldwide September 13-19. The ballad, released August 16, is Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ first No. 1 each since the chart began in September 2020.

Notably, the duet has drawn over 100 million streams globally in each of the last three weeks. It joins only Sabrina Carpenter’s “Please Please Please” (three weeks, June-July) and Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” (three, May-July) as the only songs to achieve three such weeks this year.

Plus, “Die With a Smile” has gained in each of its chart weeks, having started with 75.2 million on the August 31 survey and rising, respectively each week, to 97.2 million, 105.8 million, 111.4 million and 117.4 million; it’s the first non-holiday song to link at least three consecutive weeks of 100 million streams with gains in each week since The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber’s “Stay” did so for four straight frames in August-September 2021.

Oscar Maydon Earns First No. 1 on Any U.S.-Based Billboard Chart with Becky G-Collab “Mercedes”

Oscar Maydon is celebrating his first-ever U.S. chart-topping single…

The 24-year-old Mexican singer’s Becky G-collaboration “Mercedes” has accelerated to No. 1 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Airplay chart dated August 3.

“Mercedes,” released April 11 on Kemosabe/RCA/Sony Music Latin, speeds 7-1 on Regional Mexican Airplay with a 49% vault to 6.4 million audience impressions in the week ending July 25, according to Luminate.

Becky G previously topped Regional Mexican Airplay with “Por El Contrario,” with the Aguilar siblings, Leonardo and Angela, for a week in March.

Narcocorridos singer Maydon, meanwhile, reigns in his second visit to the chart, after logging a No. 33 high through “Fin De Semana,” with Junior H, in August 2023.

The Mexicali, Mexico, native has tallied two prior No. 1s on the Mexico Songs ranking (part of Billboard’s Hits of the World charts menu).

Volver Al Futuro,” with Junior H, led for a week in June after “Madonna,” with Natanael Cano, dominated for 11 weeks beginning in March. He made his first chart appearance when “Los Collares,” with El Padrinito Toys, entered Mexico Songs in January 2023. As “Fin De Semana” grew, he also hit a No. 36 high on the Emerging Artists chart that February.

Elsewhere, the gains in audience help “Mercedes” motor 11-4 on the overall Latin Airplay chart for its first week in the upper region. Maydon posts his first top 10 on the list, while Becky G secures her eighth and first since “Por El Contrario,” which became her sixth No. 1 in March.

Ivan Cornejo Earns First No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums Chart with “Mirada”

The 20-year-old Mexican American singer-songwriter has achieved his first No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart with Mirada, his third studio album, which debuts atop the August 3-dated ranking.

Mirada starts at the summit on Top Latin Albums with 34,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. during the July 19-25 tracking week, according to Luminate. The set was released July 19, the first day of the tracking period, on Zaragoza/Insterscope/ICLG.

Of Mirada’s 34,000 units in its coronation week, 25,000 of those derive from streaming activity, which represent 35 million official on-demand U.S. streams of the album’s songs. Album sales comprise 9,000, while the remainder negligible amount stem from track sales. On Top Latin Albums, one unit equals one album sale, 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams for a song on the album.

In the process, Cornejo joins an elite group of Regional Mexican acts whose projects launched at the summit on Top Latin Albums in the 20s decade. Alejandro Fernández’s Hecho En México debuted at No. 1 in February 2020, while Eslabon Armado enlisted two No. 1 debuts, through Vibras de Noche and Desvelado in August 2020 and May 2023, respectively.

Further, Cornejo captures his third top 10 on Top Latin Albums with a third appearance. The singer-songwriter visited the chart with the No. 7-peaking set Alma Vacía (October 2021) and Dañado, which peaked at No. 2 (December 2022) and earned him a first Billboard Latin Music Award for Regional Mexican album of the year in 2023.

Adding to Cornejo’s triumphs this week, the Riverside, Calif.-born artist likewise scores the largest debut sales week for a Regional Mexican album since 2020, with 9,000 sold. The last regional Mexican album to start with a bigger sales figure was Fernández’s Hecho En México, which debuted at No. 1 on the Feb. 29, 2020-dated Top Latin Albums chart with 10,000 sold. Mirada’s first-week sales were supported by a signed CD exclusive to his webstore, and a standard CD.

Mirada is just the second Regional Mexican album to debut within the top 10 on the all-genre Top Album Sales chart, which began in 1991. In total, 33 Latin albums have opened in the top 10. The only other Regional Mexican album to debut in the top 10 was Fernández’s Hecho En México, with a No. 8 debut in 2020.

Eleven cuts from Mirada have landed on the multi-metric Hot Latin Songs chart, led by “Baby Please,” which bowed and reached a No. 8 high last March. Here’s a look at the album tracks on Hot Latin Songs, including two already ranked songs, a reentry, plus seven debuts on the current survey:

Karol G Tops Multiple Billboard Charts at Once with “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido”

The 33-year-old Colombian singer has attained a new milestone across the Billboard charts as her latest single, “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido,” lands at No. 1 on the Hot Latin Songs and Latin Airplay charts, while ruling the Tropical Airplay chart for a second week, on the rankings dated July 29.

On the multimetric Hot Latin Songs chart, “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” ascends 2-1 with streaming and radio gains. In the tracking week of June 12-18, the song collected 12 million official U.S. streams, up 15%, according to Luminate.

The sum yields a 47-44 rise on the overall Streaming Songs chart, plus her ninth No. 1 on Latin Streaming Songs with the Greatest Gainer award of the week.

Despite a 1% slip in digital sales, “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” remains at No. 1 on Latin Digital Song Sales, with 1,000 downloads sold during the same tracking frame.

In the radio world, the song reinforces its position as a summer hit, lifting 2-1 on the overall Latin Airplay tally with an 8% gain in audience impressions, to 8.2 million logged in the tracking window.

There, Karol collects an 18th champ, placing her closer to her only female contender among acts with the most No. 1s: Shakira, who continues to rule among women, with 23 No. 1 songs since the overall radio ranking launched in 1994.

Diving further into the new champ, the merengue-based track wins a new term atop Tropical Airplay –and its fourth week in the upper region– after the song jumped 3-1 and Karol became the second solo woman to rule Tropical Airplay on her own this decade.

As if the new No. 1s weren’t enough, as “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” makes a splash across Billboard charts, Karol becomes the first artist to be No. 1 simultaneously on Hot Latin Songs, Latin Airplay and Tropical Airplay charts in over a decade.

The last artist to pull the trick was Romeo Santos when “Odio,” featuring Drake, took over the three charts on the May 10, 2014-dated recap.

Notably, just seven months prior, Santos also seized the No. 1 slot across the three surveys with the ubiquitous “Propuesta Indecente,” on the chart dated Oct. 5, 2013.

Preceding Santos, four other artists accomplished the multilateral ruling in 2013 through three songs: Prince Royce with “Darte Un Beso” (Sept. 7, 2013), Marc Anthony through “Vivir Mi Vida” (11 weeks at No. 1, June 1-Aug. 10, 2023-dated lists), and Tito El Bambino and El Patron by “Por Qué Les Mientes,” where Marc is also featured (Jan. 19, 2013).

With “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” hitting No. 1 on Hot Latin Songs, Karol G racks up another chart-topper unaccompanied by another artist – a rarity for a female act. On the airplay-, streaming data- and digital sales-blended list, only three women have ruled the 50-deep tally on her own since 2010.

Beyond its Latin charts’ coronation, “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” makes worldwide improvements, moving from No. 7 to its new No. 5 peak on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. tally, with 53.8 million non-U.S. weekly streams, up 10%.

On the Billboard Global 200, the song boasts 65 million worldwide streams, but slips 12-13 despite a 10% gain.

Venesti’s “Es Normal” Rises to No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Rhythm Airplay & Latin Pop Airplay Charts

Venesti is celebrating a double win… 

The 29-year-old Colombian singer, composer and producer’s latest single “Es Normal” rules Billboard’Latin Rhythm Airplay and Latin Pop Airplay charts dated July 27.

VenestiThe track is the fourth single from his album De La Nada to enter a Billboard chart.

“It’s really important to lead the Latin Rhythm Airplay and Latin Pop Airplay charts, both for me and my team,” Venesti tells Billboard. “Actually, it’s the song we picked as (the) first single and the one I listen to the most.”

On Latin Rhythm Airplay, “Es Normal” ascends from No. 3 to crown the 25-song ranking with a 21% gain in audience impressions, up 6.6 million, logged during the July 12-18 tracking week, according to Luminate. With the ascension, Venesti picks up his second No. 1, after the one-week takeover of “Umaye” last October.

Further, the new champ also takes indie label AP Global to its second coronation on Latin Rhythm Airplay –and third top 10 overall– after it secured its first top 10 through “Pura Maldad” in June 2023.

“When we were composing the song, I was going through a real-life situation about mistrust and chatter, so we decided to write it because so many people go through the same thing,” Venesti remembers. “When the person involved heard it, she started questioning whether I had changed. But nothing, it’s been proven that such is the case, and yes, that makes the song even more special for both, me and my team.”

The Pop-Afrobeat “Es Normal” also stands steady at No. 1 for a second week on Latin Pop Airplay. There, it joins Venesti’s first champ, “No Es Normal,” with Nacho and Maffio, which held strong at the summit for 10 weeks, the longest-leading song in 2024 so far.

“Es Normal” joins three other songs stemming from Venesti’s debut studio album De La Nada, released Sept. 28 on AP Global. Those songs are the No. 11-peaking “Necesidad” (Latin Rhythm Airplay, Dec. 2022), and top 10s “Pura Maldad” (No. 10 high, June 2023) and as mentioned, “Umaye,” which granted Venesti his first ruler on any chart.

Beyond Latin Rhythm Airplay and Latin Pop Airplay, Venesti reaches for his third top 10 on the overall Latin Airplay, where “Es Normal,” produced by Milo Beat, jumps 8-4. He landed two champs previously on the overall radio ranking, both in less than a year: “Umaye” (Dec. 2023) and “No Es Normal,” with Nacho and Maffio, in March.

Karol G Earns First-Ever No. 1 on Billboard’s Tropical Airplay Chart with “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido”

Three weeks after the 33-year-old Colombian singer & songwriter’s “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” debuted at No. 2 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart, the song rolls 3-1 on the Tropical Airplay chart dated July 20.

Karol GIt marks Karol G’s first No. 1 on the Tropical Airplay chart.

It’s only the second track by a female soloist, unaccompanied by another act, to rule the tally in the 2020s.

Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido,” on Bichota/Interscope/ICLG and released June 21, advances to No. 1 on Tropical Airplay –as the Greatest Gainer of the week– with 7.6 million audience impressions during the July 5-11 tracking week, according to Luminate: that’s a 27% gain from the week prior.

While “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” gives Karol G her first champ on Tropical Airplay, the singer-songwriter previously achieved a No. 8 high through “Casi Nada” in 2016, before the chart became genre-based.

The track, produced in partnership with Coke Studio, makes Karol G the second solo woman, unaccompanied by any other act, to lead Tropical Airplay this decade, after Rosalía hit No. 1 with “Despechá” in 2022. Prior, La India ruled with “Dímelo” for one week in 2016.

Notably, only six women have seated atop Tropical Airplay in the ‘20s with or without collaborators: Natti Natasha, La India, Rosalía, Maria Becerra, Shakira and now, Karol G.

Out of those, Rosalía has successfully managed three champs, while Becerra, two.

Grupo Firme Earns Second No. 1 in a Week on Billboard’s Latin Airplay Chart with “El Beneficio De La Duda”

A week after the Mexican band scored its first career No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart, the Regional Mexican group replaces itself at the summit with new single “El Beneficio De La Duda,” as the song flies 24-1 on the July 13-dated list.

The new leader follows the one-week reign of “Te Va a Doler,” the group’s first collab with Thalia.

“El Beneficio De La Duda” scores 6.2 million audience impressions, up 56%, earned during the June 28-July 4 tracking week, according to Luminate.

Thalia’s “Te Va a Doler,” with Grupo Firme, meanwhile, falls to No. 26 with a 48% decline in audience (down 48%) after one week on top.

Thanks to the 56% gain in audience, “El Beneficio De La Duda” takes home the Greatest Gainer trophy, a weekly award for the song with the largest increase in audience among the 50-title radio ranking.

A pair of California stations lead the way with the most plays, KLAX in Los Angeles and KRZZ in San Francisco, in the latest tracking week, while KFZO in Dallas, rounds up the top three.

“El Beneficio De La Duda,” composed by singer-songwriter Joss Favela and released May 28 via Music VIP, grants the label its first ruler on the overall Latin radio ranking. Music VIP came close when “Que Onda Perdida,” another Grupo Firme song, with Gerardo Coronel, reached No. 3 in July 2023.

As “El Beneficio De La Duda” lands at the summit on the overall Latin radio tally, Grupo Firme replaces itself at No. 1, the second act to achieve the feat in 2024, following Myke Towers whose “Borracho y Loco” with Yandel ceded the throne to his own “La Falda,” after the latter’s one week in charge (Feb. 24-dated list).

Beyond its Latin Airplay coronation, “El Beneficio De La Duda” takes the lead on the Regional Mexican Airplay chart, for the group’s 10th No. 1 there, tying with Christian Nodal for second-most champs this decade, both trailing only Calibre 50’s 11 No. 1s since 2020.

“When Joss Favela sent me the first take of the song, he simulated the accordion with his voice because the song wasn’t produced yet,” Caz adds. “I still liked how his voice hummed the melody and decided to incorporate it, and that is one of the most special details of the song.”

Grupo Firme, comprising Eduin and Johnny Caz, Abraham Hernandez, Joaquin Ruiz, Christian Gutierrez, Jose Rubio and Dylan Camacho, celebrates its second No. 1 on the heels of the group’s La Última Peda Tour 2024, the 32-date run that launched in San Antonio, Texas on May 10 and will wrap up November 2 at the BMO Stadium in Los Angeles.

Kali Uchis & Peso Pluma Top Billboard Latin Airplay Chart with “Igual Que Un Ángel”

The 29-year-old Colombian American singer-songwriter and the 25-year-old Mexican singer-songwriter have added a new No. 1 to their Billboard Latin Airplay chart count as “Igual Que Un Ángel” ascends from No. 3 to lead the June 29-dated ranking.

“Igual Que Un Ángel” puts Uchis back at No. 1 after almost three years, when “Telepatía” climbed 5-1 on the survey dated July 3, 2021, for her second champ on the overall Latin Airplay ranking.

Peso picks up his fourth ruler, and second in 2024, following the one-week coronation of “Qlona,” with Karol G (March 2-dated tally).

In the tracking week of June 14-20, “Igual Que Un Ángel” registered 7.93 million audience impressions, with a 13% increase from the week prior, according to Luminate.

Thanks to that sum, the collab lands at No. 1 in its 11th week. The chart’s previous No. 1, El Fantasma’s “Sabor a Michelada,” falls to No. 10 with a 36% decline in audience, to 5.5 million.

“Igual Que Un Ángel” takes the lead on Latin Airplay 23 weeks after it debuted atop the multi-metric Hot Latin Songs, Latin Streaming Songs and Latin Digital Song Sales charts dated January 27.

With “Igual Que Un Ángel,” Peso Pluma switches genre gears and lands his first No. 1 on Latin Pop Airplay with his first chart entry, with a 2-1 lift. (He’s previously charted No. 1s on both Regional Mexican Airplay and Latin Rhythm Airplay.)

Uchis, meanwhile, logs her second No. 1 on Latin Pop Airplay, also three years after “Telepatía” took charge for one week in March 2021. In between, “No Hay Ley,” her second and last entry as a soloist unaccompanied by any other artist, reached No. 11 high in February 2023.

Elsewhere, thanks to its radio pull, “Igual Que Un Ángel” moves 19-16 on Hot Latin Songs, despite a 2% dip in streaming activity, with 2 million official U.S. streams during the tracking week.

Danny Ocean Earns First-Ever No. 1s on Billboard Charts with “Amor”

It’s a special, long-awaited first for Danny Ocean. 

The 32-year-old Venezuelan singer, songwriter and record producer, whose real name is Daniel Alejandro Morales Reyes, has earned his first No. 1 on a Billboard chart with “Amor.”

“What makes me happiest, beyond my name being there, is that a Venezuelan is at No. 1,” Ocean tells Billboard. “This is a project that has always honored love.”

“Amor” takes the crown with 8.7 million audience impressions, up 54%, on U.S. reporting radio stations during the May 31-June 6 tracking week, according to Luminate.

Among the song’s biggest supporters, New York’s WXNY leads the way in the latest tracking week, Puerto Rico’s WKAQ comes second, while Los Angeles’ KXOL rounds out the top three.

“Amor,” one of 12 tracks on Ocean’s third studio albumReflexa, completes a five-week journey to the top on Latin Airplay, having debuted at No. 45 on the chart dated May 18.

Thus, it takes second-fastest rise to the summit among the ranking’s 21 rulers in 2024, after Xavi’s “La Diabla” which reached the penthouse in its third week (chart dated February 10).

Only one song achieved the feat faster: Shakira and Cardi B’s “Puntería” debuted atop the list dated April 6. Here’s the recap of those songs that needed the least weeks to land at No. 1 on Latin Airplay in 2024:
