Louis C.K.’s Sixth Comedy Special to Air on FX in May

The network, home to the 47-year-old Mexican-American actor/comedian’s Emmy-winning series Louie, will broadcast Louis C.K.’s latest hourlong stand-up special Louis C.K.: Live From The Comedy Store.

The special, written and directed by Louis C.K., will make its FX bow on May 28, following the Season 5 finale of Louie.

It’s Louis C.K.’s sixth hourlong special and second to air on FX, following 2012’s Live at the Beacon Theater.

FX to Air Louis C.K.’s Latest Standup Comedy Special

FX has acquired the television rights to the 47-year-old Mexican American actor/stand up comedian and Emmy winner’s next standup comedy special, Louis C.K. Live From the Comedy Store, announced FX CEO John Landgraf during the Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena on Sunday.

The special will made be available to fans first in the coming weeks via Louis C.K.’s website, LouisCK.net, after his run of shows at Madison Square Garden.

Louis C.K. is the first comedian to sell out three shows for the same tour in Madison Square Garden history; tickets for a fourth show just went on sale.

He has been a trailblazer in offering his content online, starting with his Live at the Beacon Theater special in December 2011.

The hour-long comedy special, which will be written and directed by Louis C.K., will air on FX this spring. It’s being produced by his production company, Pig Newton.

Live at the Comedy Store is Louis C.K.’s sixth hour-long standup comedy special and the second to air on FX following Louis C.K.: Live at the Beacon Theater, which aired in May 2012.

Meanwhile, the eight-episode fifth season of Louie will debut on FX on April 9 at 10:30 pm ET.

Louis C.K. Picks Up Third Consecutive Writing Emmy at the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards

The 46-year-old Mexican American actor, comedian, writer, director and producer picked up his third consecutive writing Emmy at Monday night’s 66th Primetime Emmy Awards.

Louis C.K., who was nominated for five Emmy awards this year, took home the award for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series for penning FX’s critically acclaimed comedy series Louie, a show that he created, stars in, writes for, directs and edited until February 2012.

It’s the second Emmy for Louis C.K., the creator, star, writer, director,and one-time editor of Louie, after his win in the same category in 2012. He also took home an Emmy in 2013 in the Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special for penning his HBO special Louis C.K.: Oh My God.

In all, Louis C.K. has won five Emmys during his illustrious career, with his first in 1999 for serving as a writer on HBO’s The Chris Rock Show.

Louis C.K., a four-time Primetime Emmy-winner, picked up the award for Comedy Supporting Actor – Film for his performance in American Hustle.

Louis C.K. Earns The Latest Emmy of His Career at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards

The 46-year-old Mexican American stand-up comedian and actor picked up the fourth Primetime Emmy of his career on Sunday night at the 65th annual Creative Arts Emmy Awards, held at the Nokia Theatre at L.A. Live.

Louis C.K., a record-breaking nine-time Emmy nominee this year, won the statuette for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series for penning his hit HBO comedy special Louis C.K.: Oh My God.

He still has a chance to add to his haul during Sunday night’s Primetime Emmy Awards show. The creator of FX’s Louie, has earned acting, producing, writing and directing nominations for his work on the critically acclaimed comedy series.

The Creative Arts Emmy Awards are typically held one week before the televised Primetime Emmy Awards.

Louis C.K. was not present for the show.

This year’s Creative Arts show will air, in an edited two-hour special, on FXX this coming Saturday, September 21, at 9:00 pm.

HBO has released the official trailer for the 45-year-old Mexican American comedian/actor’s latest stand-up special for the network, Louis C.K.: Oh My God.

In the clip, Louis C.K. dramatically describes the concept of the promotional trailer, announcing that the narrator will say things like “coming soon on HBO,” “a stand-up comedy event like no one has ever seen” and “the Greatest Comedian of the Generation of blah blah ever to do a thing on a thing.’ ”

In the hour-long TV special, the creator, star and writer of FX’s Emmy-winning series Louie will poke fun on wide range of topics such as “the food chain, animals, divorce, strange anecdotes, broken morality, murder and mortality.”

Louis C.K.’s Fourth HBO Special to Premiere in April

Prepare to LOL in April with a little help from Louis C.K.

HBO has scheduled the 45-year-old Mexican-American actor/comedian’s stand-up special, entitled Louis C.K.: Oh My God, for mid-April.

Taped in Phoenix, Oh My God will focus on topics like the food chain, animals, divorce, strange anecdotes, broken morality, murder and mortality.

Louis C.K.’s fourth special for the cable network, which he wrote, directed and executive-produced, will be broadcast on Saturday, April 13 at 10:00 pm ET.

The last Louis C.K. special aired in 2007, following his appearance in the Lucky Louie series, which he created.

In addition, Louis C.K. claims he’ll release the special on his website for $5, in the same way he released his award-winning Live at the Beacon Theater special, a few months after the special airs on HBO.
