Musical instruments, who needs them? Certainly not Christina Aguilera!
During a recent visit to NBC‘s Late Night withJimmy Fallon, the 31-year-old half-Ecuadorian American Grammy-winning singer created a musically delicious watercooler moment with only her voice and some offices supplies.
Aguilera, Jimmy Fallon and Fallon’s house band The Roots joined forces for a sweet-sounding performance of The Voice coach’s recent single “Your Body,” using office supplies like a stapler as their musical instruments.
Fallon and The Roots did something similar a few months ago with classroom instruments to Carly Rae Jepsen‘s “Call Me Maybe.”
“Your Body” is the first single off of Aguilera’s seventh studio album Lotus, which will be released next week.
Christina Aguilera isn’t leaving a single (blank) page unturned with her latest single…
The 31-year-old half-Ecuadorian American singer has released the second track off her soon-to-be-released album, Lotus.
Entitled “Blank Page,” the power ballad features the Grammy-winning singer giving an emotion-packed vocal delivery.
“I was scared, I was unprepared, for the things you say,” she sings. “If I could undo, that I hurt you, I would do anything for us to make it through. Draw me a smile and save me tonight. I am a blank page waiting for you to bring me to life.”
Aguilera, backed only by a piano, gives a powerful-yeat-subtle and oh-so-heartfelt performance on the track.
“[It’s] a beautiful, vulnerable, amazing ballad that reminds me of the emotional vulnerability yet empowerment feeling that you get from listening to say a ‘Beautiful’ from previous records,” she told editorial director Bill Werde.
One of the more effective moments in the ballad comes when Aguilera lowers her booming voice to a delicate almost-whisper, proposing to her victim: “Let our hearts stop and beat as one together; Let out hearts stop and beat as one forever.”
The singer leaked the song herself this weekend via her Twitter account. And she’s ready to share the entire album with the world.
“I wrote and recorded a lot on this record that was made to hopefully inspire the next generation of vocalists,” she said. “My experience as a coach on The Voice has really helped me dig deeper to find new inspiration because I almost feel like it’s my responsibility to uphold a certain vocal standard.”

Weeks before the scheduled release of her new album, Lotus, the 31-year-old half-Ecuadorian Grammy-winning singer spread the news of album’s final track listing via her Twitteraccount.
Lotus, Aguilera’s seventh studio album, will feature 13 tracks, including songs with fellow The Voice mentors Cee-Lo Green and Blake Shelton.
“#LOTUS song titles revealed! So excited for you all to hear the album. Weeks away! XoXtina,” Aguilera tweeted.
Aguilera’s duets with her The Voice co-mentors are “Make the World Move” with Green and “Just A Fool” with Shelton.
Fans who buy the deluxe edition will be treated to four special tracks, “Light Up the Sky“, “Empty Words“, “Shut Up” and “Your Body Martin Garrix Remix.”
To promote the release of the album, Aguilera will perform at the American Music Awards two days before it hits stores. Asked about what she had in store for her AMAs appearance, the singer-songwriter told MTV, “It’s very exciting. It’s definitely going to be a reflection of what Lotus means to me. If you take that album cover and give it a little performance twist, I’ll bring that album cover to life, so it’s going to be really fun.”
He’s already managed to get it started with Shakira… And, now Pitbull’s ready to feel this moment with another Latina singing sensation.
The 31-year-old Cuban American rap superstar has joined voices with Grammy-winning singer and The Voice coach Christina Aguilera on the new track “Feel This Moment.”
“One day when my light is glowing, I’ll be in my castle golden / But until the gates are open, I just wanna feel this moment,” Christina sings on the track.
Global Warming is scheduled for release on November 19, nearly one week after Aguilera’s new album Lotus –featuring the single “Your Body” – goes on sale.
On her last album Bionic, Christina Aguilera encouraged listeners to “Desnudate”… But on her latest studio effort, she’s the one getting naked.
The 31-year-old half-Ecuadorian songstress has released the oh-so-revealing cover artwork for her forthcoming album Lotus.
Aguilera wears nothing to cover her skin but her long, flowing blond hair to cover her breasts, while a white light effect conceals her lower body part. She stands at the center of a lotus flower as if she’s blossoming from it.
When discussing album, she explained the meaning behind the title, “Album title: Lotus. Representing an unbreakable flower that survives under the hardest conditions and still thrives.”
“If you love ‘Fighter‘, you’re going to love my new album,” she gushed about the new record in an interview with Lucky magazine. “As a 31-year-old woman, I’ve been uncovering my independence, and it’s been really fun to explore in the new songs.”
On another occasion, she told Ryan Seacrest, “This album is about self-expression and freedom. There is a lot I have gone through personally over the past few years, and this record represents a rebirth for me. The record is about freedom and getting back to the root of who I am and what I love to do.”
Aguilera’s seventh studio album will be released on November 13, with “Your Body” as its lead single.
Talk about a killer clip… Christina Aguilera has released the music video for “Your Body,” the first single off her upcoming album, Lotus.
From the beginning of the 31-year-old half-Ecuadorian American singer’s Melina Matsoukas-directed clip, which was released Friday, it’s clear The Voice coach is feelin’ forceful against non-females.
“No men were harmed in the making of this video,” reads the graphic at the beginning of the official music video for “Your Body,” which features a trailer-trashtastic Aguilera seducing and slaughtering several men who only want to love her body.
Seemingly inspired by the animated cartoon violence on her TV screen, Aguilera takes out one male victim after another… A dude with a car that she blows up, a pool-playin’ playa she takes out in the bar’s bathroom and more.
Produced by Max Martin and Shellback, “Your Body” debuted at No. 34 on this week’s BillboardHot 100 after hitting the web last week. It’s the first single off of Aguilera’s fifth studio album, Lotus, which she has called a “rebirth.”
“This album represents a celebration of the new me, and to me the lotus has always represented this unbreakable flower that withstands any harsh weather conditions in its surroundings, that withstands time and remains beautiful and strong throughout the years,” Aguilera told Billboard in last week’s cover story previewing the new album. “Once I could start writing my own songs, beginning with Stripped, I tried to infuse as much as I could to promote strength and inspire people with that message. And now I’m at a place at 31, where the last time I felt this way was when I was 21 with Stripped and I had a lot to say and a lot to express.”
Along with “Your Body,” Lotus will feature a collaboration with Sia on “Blank Page” and a duet with her fellow The Voice coach Cee Lo Green on “Make The World Move.”
Aguilera can currently be seen each week as a coach on the third season of the hit NBC singing competition show.
