Gomez Wins Her First-Ever Moonman at the MTV VMAs…

There’s no doubt Selena Gomez is over the moon(man) tonight…

The 21-year-old half-Mexican American singer/actress claimed the first Moonman of her career at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, broadcast live Sunday night from Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.

Gomez’s “Come & Get It” video beat out Bruno Mars’ “Locked Out of Heaven,” Justin Timberlake’s “Mirrors,” fun.’s “Carry On” and Miley Cyrus’ “We Can’t Stop” in the Best Pop Video category.

Gomez, who was nominated last year for Best Female Video for her inescapable hit “Love You Like a Love Song,” lost out to One Direction’s “Best Song Ever” in the Best Song of the Summer category.

Meanwhile, Bruno Mars batted .500 at the MTV VMAs on Sunday night.

The 27-year-old part-Puerto Rican singer-songwriter, nominated for four awards, won the Best Male Video prize for his “Locked Out of Heaven” clip, beating out Justin Timberlake, Robin Thicke feat. T.I. and Pharrell, Ed Sheeran and Kendrick Lamar.

Mars also took home the prize for Best Choreography for the slick dance moves in the music video for his latest single “Treasure.”

Mars to Perform at This Year’s MTV Video Music Awards

Bruno Mars is ready to bring the house down with a new single…

The 27-year-old part-Puerto Rican singer will join Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga, Kanye West, Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke as a performer at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.

Mars, currently on a world tour to promote his sophomore album Unorthodox Jukebox, will unveil a new single at the VMAs.

He’s nominated in four categories this year, including Video of the Year, Best Pop Video, and Best Male Video for “Locked Out of Heaven,” and Best Choreography for “Treasure.” This is his third performance on MTV Video Music Awards.

This will mark his third time performing on the MTV Video Music Awards.

The show airs from Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on August 25 at 9:00 pm ET.

Mars Nominated for Four MTV Video Music Awards

It looks like Bruno Mars is MTV’s Latino MVP…

The 27-year-old part-Puerto Rican singer-songwriter has been nominated for four MTV Video Music Awards, including video of the year for his No. 1 hit single “Locked Out of Heaven.”

Mars faces stiff competition in the category from Justin Timberlake (for “Mirrors”), Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat. Wanz (for “Thrift Shop”), Robin Thicke feat. T.I. and Pharrell (for “Blurred Lines”) and Taylor Swift (for “I Knew You Were Trouble”).

In addition, Mars’s “Locked Out of Heaven” is nominated for Best Male Video, Best Pop Video, as well as Best Choreography for his latest single “Treasure.”

Other Latino nominees include Pitbull, Miguel, Jennifer Lopez, Christina Aguilera, Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato.

Fans can now vote in general VMA categories, including video of the year and artist to watch at vma.mtv.com.

Brooklyn’s Barclays Center hosts the VMAs for the first time on Sunday, August 25.

All winners on the big night will also take home a limited-edition KAWS Moonman.

Lovato Raises Her Teen Choice Award Nomination Count to Six

It appears Demi Lovato is the choice-en one…

The 20-year-old part-Mexican singer/actress and The X Factor judge has pulled ahead of the competition, including her one-time bestie Selena Gomez, with the most Teen Choice Award nominations this year.

Lovato, who was tied with Gomez after the first set of nominations were announced in late May, earned three more nods to bring her grand total to six TCA nominations.

Lovato is nominated for Choice TV Personality – Female  for her work as a beloved The X Factor judge this season, as well as Choice Single: Female Artist  for her hit single “Heart Attack” and Choice Style Icon.

Meanwhile Bruno Mars’ additional three nods this round bring the part-Puerto Rican singer’s total to five, while Selena Gomez’s additional two awards bring her total to five as well.

Other nominees include Once Upon A Time’s Lana Parrilla, Olympic swimming star Ryan Lochte and Glee’s Lea Michele and Blake Jenner and Modern Family’s Rico Rodriguez.

The Teen Choice Awards air from 8 to 10 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 11, on Fox.

Fans of an appropriate age can vote once per category each day at the TCA’s website.

This year’s Teen Choice Awards ceremony will be broadcast live Sunday, August 11 at 8:00 pm ET on Fox.

Mars’ “When I Was Your Man” Tops Billboard’s Adult Contemporary Chart

It took some time, but Bruno Mars has finally notched another No. 1 song on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart.

The 27-year-old part-Puerto Rican singer’s “When I Was Your Man” rises from 3-1 this week, making it Mars’ second Adult Contemporary No. 1.

The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter returns to the chart’s summit for the first time since he led with “Just the Way You Are” in 2011.

“Just the Way You Are” sat atop the Adult Contemporary chart for a staggering 20 weeks back in 2011.

In between the two leaders, Mars added the Top 10 single “Locked Out of Heaven,” which reached No. 7 in late April (and ranks at No. 11 this week).

Mars Graces the Cover of GQ’s April Issue

Bruno Mars has “the look” on the latest GQ cover…

The 27-year-old part-Puerto Rican singer graces the cover of GQ’s second annual “Style Bible” issue.

Mars looks oh-so-debonair in a sky blue shirt, tuxedo jacket by Neil Barrett, bow tie, Salvatore Ferragamo fedora, Brunello Cucinelli patent leather shoes and second skin grey trousers by John Varvatos.

The “When I Was Your Man” singer’s stylish look continues inside the magazine as Mars suits up, demonstrating how to rock a tuxedo jacket for almost any occasion.

Mars, whose sophomore album Unorthodox Jukebox recently reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, has been dressing to the nines since his arrival on the music scene, complimenting his upbeat music with plenty of style and panache. His most recent single, “Locked Out of Heaven,” is a massive hit.

“I haven’t done a song like that,” he tells GQ. “And hopefully every album, I’ll get that feeling. And shock the world! Shock the world!”

The April issue of GQ hits newsstands on March 26th.

Mars’ “Unorthodox Jukebox” Reaches No. 1 on Billboard 200 Chart

Bruno Mars has another feather in his fedora…

The 27-year-old part-Puerto Rican singer has earned his first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart.

Mars’ sophomore album Unorthodox Jukebox reached the top spot after the set, largely fueled by sale pricing by Amazon MP3, sold 95,000 copies in the week ending March 3. It’s a week-to-week gain of 96%, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

On Tuesday, February 26, the digital retailer offered several albums for only $1.99, including Mars’ latest effort.

Discounted sales of Unorthodox Jukebox and the rest of last week’s other Amazon MP3 $1.99-priced titles count toward their weekly total because the albums have been out for more than four weeks. Billboard doesn’t count sales of albums priced below $3.49 in their first four weeks of release.

Unorthodox Jukebox was released on December 11, 2012. It debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 with sales of nearly 200,000. As of March 2013, the album has sold 960,000 copies.

The album’s first single, “Locked Out of Heaven,” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Mars Makes Cameo in Jimmy Kimmel’s “Movie: The Movie” Trailer

Bruno Mars may feel like he’s been “Locked Out of Heaven,” but he hasn’t been excluded from Jimmy Kimmel’s post-Oscars antics.

The 27-year-old part-Puerto Rican singer appears in the trailer for the sequel to the late night talk show host’s mock film, Movie: The Movie, from last year’s post-Oscars show.

But Mars isn’t the only Hispanic celebrity to appear in the hilarious seven-minute skit…

Salma Hayek, who wowed on the red carpet at this year’s Academy Awards, makes a cameo appearance.

Other celebrities involved include Oprah Winfrey, who plays the U.S. president, as well as Channing Tatum, Rachel Weisz, Samuel L. Jackson, Bradley Cooper, Bryan Cranston, Gerard Butler, John Krasinski, Kerry Washington and Matt Damon.

Mars Announces World Tour & Helps Fan Celebrate Prom on “Ellen”

Bruno Mars will be locked out of heaven in a city near you soon…

The 27-year-old part-Puerto Rican Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, who delivered one of the best performances of the night at Sunday’s Grammy Awards, will be hitting the road in support of his sophomore album Unorthodox Jukebox.

Mars announced his world tour, which is being called the Moonshine Jungle World Tour, on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Tuesday. The tour will feature British singer/songwriter Ellie Goulding and soul/indie pop band Fitz and the Tantrums to support the “Locked Out of Heaven” singer on select tour dates.

Even though Mars hasn’t released specifics on dates and venues, he did reveal the he’d hit major cities across the U.S. and Canada this summer before taking the show on the road in Europe in the fall.

Mars had hinted about his upcoming tour for weeks on Twitter, where he also told fans last week about the premiere of the music video for his latest single “When I Was Your Man.”

During his stop on Ellen, Mars was invited to the prom by an audience member. Even though he had to decline because of his busy schedule, Mars still managed to, with help from host Ellen DeGeneres, bring prom to her. He even serenaded her with “Always and Forever,” while dancing under a disco ball.

Mars Delivers Grammy Night’s Most Memorable Performance

Bruno Mars is becoming the master performer of the Grammys…

Following his high-octane performance at last year’s star-studded event, the 27-year-old part-Puerto Rican singer-songwriter took the stage at the 55th Grammy Awards and, once again, delivered the best performance of the night.

Mars kicked-off his instaclassic Grammy moment with a rousing rendition of his hit single “Locked Out of Heaven,” which sat at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for several weeks.

Shortly after launching into the first single from his sophomore album, Unorthodox Jukebox, Mars was joined by Sting, the man Mars says inspired the hit single to finish up “Locked Out of Heaven” and launch into the Sting’s Police hit “Walking on the Moon.”

Finally, Rihanna, Ziggy Marley and Damian Marley to perform Bob Marley’s “Could You Be Loved” as a tribute to the Jamaica-born reggae legend.

But Mars wasn’t the only Hispanic artist to perform at the Grammys…

Miguel, the leading Latino nominee at the Grammys with five nods, joined voices with Wiz Khalifa to perform his hit single “Adorn.”

The 27-year-old half-Mexican American singer-songwriter’s sizzling-yet-smooth performance has Kelly Clarkson calling it “the sexiest damn thing I’ve ever seen!”

Juanes paid tribute to Elton John with an acoustic, bilingual rendition of one of the singer’s early hits, “Your Song.” The 40-year-old Colombian rockero was a late-addition to the performers’ line-up, but still managed to give a memorable, heartfelt performance.
