Jennifer Lopez Signs Multi-Year Touring Deal with Live Nation

Jennifer Lopezis taking the show on the road…

The 50-year-old Puerto Rican superstar, who wowed a global audience of 100 million with her co-headlining Super Bowl Halftime Show, has signed a major multi-year touring deal with Live Nation.

Jennifer Lopez

“Jennifer Lopez has given fans spectacular live performances for decades through sold out tour dates and her Las Vegas residencies,” said Brad Wavra, senior vice president touring, Live Nation.

WhileJ.Lo‘s recent Super Bowl halftime performance was a highlight, Wavra says it’s Lopez’s2019 It’s My Party Tour (produced by Live Nation) that really cemented the partnership, featuring Lopez’s thrilling brand of signature pop hits, from “Ain’t Your Mama” and “El Anillo” to “Let’s Get Loud” and “Live It Up.”

“The demand to see Jennifer live is only growing,” Wavra said. “Live Nation is proud to be partnering with such a worldwide phenomenon for years to come.”

Lopez has established a career as an actress, producer, singer and entertainer with extensive projects in music, film and television with more than 75 million records sold globally, in addition to a cumulative worldwide box-office gross of more than $3 billion.

Lopez, who is the only female artist to have a No. 1 album and No. 1 film at the box office simultaneously, will next star in the movie musical Marry Me withOwen Wilsonand Colombian recording artist Maluma. The film is set in the world of pop music, which celebrates the unlikely romance between a pop star and a fan.

Earlier this week, Lopez took the top prize forPollstar’Best Latin Tour(It’s My Party).

Lopez has returned for another season as the global face of Guessand has been appearing in global advertising campaigns for both Guess and the brand’s more fashion-forward label, Marciano. Lopez also has deals with Versaceand Coach, with more on the way.

Lopez was a Fly Girldancer on In Living Color before she decided to pursue an acting career in 1993. It was the 1997 film Selena, directed by Gregory Nava, that made her a household name and earned her a Golden Globenomination.

Lopez, who has millions of followers on social media, including more than 110 million on Instagram, is part of a new remix of the song “RITMO” — the 2019 single by the Black Eyed Peas and J Balvin.

Maná Becomes First Act to Perform Seven Shows in One Year at LA’s The Forum

It’s Lucky No. 7 for Manáfans in Los Angeles…

Due to continuing ticket demands, the legendary Mexican rock band has added a seventh show at The Forum in Los Angeles as part of its Rayando El Sol Tour, which kicks of at the end of August.

Mana

The seventh date at the venue, which will take place on December 7, makes Maná the only act in any language or genre to ever play seven dates at the venue as part of a single tour.

“Mana makes history today by becoming the first artist that will perform seven shows in one year at the ‘Fabulous’ Forum since our reopening in 2014,” said a spokesperson for The Forum. “Mana also holds our record for most shows since the reopening at 11. The Forum is proud and honored to be the home to Mana’s historic run of shows.”

Maná, Latin music’s most successful rock band and one of the most prolific and highest-grossing Latin acts in the market, announced dates forRayando el Sol, their first tour in three years, this past February.

Tickets sales were so strong, that additional dates were added almost immediately, and the tour, originally set to kick off September 4 from Corpus Christi, is now starting August 31 in Laredo.

New dates were also added for Chicago, Oakland, San Jose, Dallas, Houston, Phoenix and Los Angeles.

Originally, Maná was slated to play four dates at The Forum, which grew to six, and now, seven.

The group performed on Good Morning America this Wednesday, the same day they streamed an intimate performance for fans on their YouTubechannel in anticipation of their tour.

“Maná is a touring powerhouse,” Bob Roux, president of U.S. concerts for Live Nation, said in a statement back in March, talking about the sellout speed of Maná’s shows. “I’ve never seen an onsale like this in the Latin Market. This puts Maná in the rarefied realm of the biggest bands in the U.S., regardless of language.”

The Rayando el Sol tour will now play 35 stops. The tour takes its name from Maná’s 1989 breakout hit song of the same name.

“It was the song that kicked off our career when we were ready to walk away from it all,” Fher Olvera, Maná’s lead singer, told Billboardearlier this year. “We spent many years with very little money. One time, [drummer] Alex [Gonzalez] spent the night at an apartment in Colonia Roma [the Mexico City neighborhood depicted in Alfonso Cuarón’s film Roma] that didn’t even have furniture. And there, between beers, we wrote the song. At that point, I was ready to work in what I’d studied in college: communications. And Alex was going to return to Miami. But that song allowed us to breath, so we have a real appreciation. It’s a very emblematic song. It’s played everywhere.”

Kirstin Maldonado & Pentatonix to Launch World Tour in May

Kirstin Maldonado is going global…

The 26-year-old half-Mexican/part-Spanish American singer and her Pentatonix group mates will be hitting the road this spring for their upcoming world tour, and they spilled all the details of what fans can expect in a new video, premiering exclusively on Billboard.

Pentatonix

In the clip, the five singers sit down with Live Nationto answer questions about the tour and get quizzed about their fellow bandmates.

“A lot of new music!” Maldonado says of what to expect, while Scott Hoyingpromises “fun,” “choreo” and “belting” at each show.

Next, the a cappella group plays a rapid-fire round of superlatives, naming which of their bandmates is the biggest prankster (Kirstin), the messiest (a toss-up) and always late (also Kirstin, though beatboxer Kevin Olusolapoints silently to himself).

Another fun fact? If the band could change their name, original members Maldonado, Hoying and Mitch Grassiall agree it would be — wait for it — Fifth Harmony! The girl group may have announced their indefinite hiatus in March 2018, but it’s a good thing CamilaCabello & Co. laid claim to the moniker during The X Factor back in 2012.
