The 36-year-old Cuban & Mexican American actress has signed with Creative Artists Agency (CAA).

Jessica Marie GarciaGarcia currently recurs on the NBC comedy series Lopez Vs. Lopez opposite George and Mayan Lopez, as cousin ‘Yesika’. Before that, she starred on Netflix’s “Most-Binged Original” hit series On My Block as the spitfire ‘Jasmine Flores’, a role that earned her a Teen Choice Award nomination for Best Summer TV Actress and an MTV Movie & TV Award nomination.

She also appeared in Gina Rodriguez’s Disney+ series Diary of a Female President as ‘Camila,’ as well as recurring on Shonda Rhimes’ How To Get Away With Murder playing ‘Rhonda’ opposite Viola Davis. Additionally, she starred in all four seasons of the Disney Channel original series Liv and Maddie as ‘Willow Cruz.’

Her feature film Avenge the Crows, in which she plays ‘Peaches,’ a tough inner-city gang member, starring alongside Danny Trejo and Lou Diamond Phillips, is currently available to stream on Amazon Prime Video. You can see her earlier work on shows including ABC’s The Middle, as the tough wrestlerette, ‘Becky,’ and as ‘Sierra Cruz’ on ABC Family’s Huge.

Garcia is also a member of the all-female ensemble cast of Betch: A Sketch Show, streaming now on Paramount+. She has also lent her voice to both seasons of the Love in Gravity podcast, which received special recognition at the 2023 GLAAD Awards. She additionally voiced ‘Renee Montoya’ in the hit original audio drama Batman Unburied for Spotify and voiced ‘Ami’ for the audio original book The Honeymoon Crashers by the writing duo Christina Lauren.

Garcia is branching out with her production shingle, where she has been writing and producing, most recently with her film Illegally Brown, directed by Gabby Revilla Lugo, which was recently on the festival circuit. She also shot the film What To Expect with director Gabriela Garcia Medina.

Jessica Marie Garcia Upped to Series Regular for Season 2 of Netflix’s “On My Block”

The Latina actress has been upped to series regular for the upcoming second season of Netflix’s On My Block, the coming-of-age comedy co-created and executive produced by Lauren Iungerich, Eddie Gonzalez and Jeremy Haft.

The series was renewed in April.

In Season 1 of the series, about a group of bright and street-savvy friends navigating their way through the triumph, pain and the newness of high school in LA’s South Central, Garcia recurred as Jasmine. She is confident, full of enthusiasm and swagger and never afraid to share her opinion. She embraces who she is and likes the skin she’s in.

Diego Tinoco, Sierra Capri, Jason Genao, Brett Gray and Ronnie Hawk also star.

On My Blockpremiered on March 16.

Garcia’s television credits include Disney Channel’s Liv and Maddie and Hulu’s all-female sketch comedy show Betch. She also starred alongside Danny Trejoand Lou Diamond Phillips in 2017’s film Avenge the Crows.

Moroles to Star in Lionsgate’s “Down a Dark Hall”

It’s a Dark time for Victoria Moroles

The 20-year-old Latina actress has joined the cast of Lionsgate’s film Down a Dark Hall, which is based on the novel by Lois Duncan.

The book follows a troubled teen with a haunted past who is committed to Blackwood, a mysterious school for gifted and disturbed girls.

Moroles will play one of five teenage girls attending the school, alongside AnnaSophia Robb and Isabelle Fuhrman.

The film will be directed by Rodrigo Cortes from a script by Michael Goldbach and Chris Sparling. The movie is currently shooting in Barcelona.

Moroles’ credits include a role on the MTV series Teen Wolf, as well as a recurring role on the Disney Channel series Liv And Maddie.
