Disney Channel Renews Jenna Ortega’s “Stuck in the Middle” for Third Season

It looks like Jenna Ortega will be stuck longer…

Disney Channel’s hit series Stuck in the Middle, starring the 14-year-old Puerto Rican and Mexican American actress, has been renewed for a third season.

Stuck in the Middle, from executive producer Linda Videtti Figueiredo, stars Ortega as a middle child, Harley Diaz, in a household bustling with nine people – two parents and seven kids – each with distinctive personalities and conflicting schedules.

It also stars Isaak Presley as Ethan, Ronni Hawk as Rachel, Kayla Maisonet as Georgie, Nicolas Bechtel as Lewie, Malachi Barton as Beast, Ariana Greenblatt as Daphne, Cerina Vincent as Suzy and Joe Nieves as Tom.

New Season 2 episodes will air beginning Friday, September 15 at 8:30 pm ET on Disney Channel and VOD.

Production on season three will start this fall.

Jenna Ortega is stuck at the Disney Channel…

The cable network has ordered the family comedy series Stuck in the Middle, starring the young Latina actress.

Ortega, who appears in flashbacks as Young Jane in Jane the Virgin, stars as Harley Diaz, an engineering whiz who uses her inventions to navigate life as the middle child in a family of seven kids.

Playing her siblings are Ronni Hawk as Rachel, Kayla Maisonet (Dog With A Blog) as Georgie, Isaak Presley (Austin & Ally) as Grant, Nicolas Bechtel (General Hospital) as Danny, Malachi Barton (Best Friends Whenever) as Beast and Ariana Greenblatt (Liv And Maddie) as Daphne.

The pilot teleplay was written by Alison Brown (Dog With A Blog) & Linda Videtti Figueiredo from a story by Brown.

Production begins in November for a spring premiere.

Jenna Ortega is finding herself stuck in the middle…

The Disney Channel has greenlighted the family comedy pilot Stuck in the Middle starring the young Latina actress, who plays young Jane on the CW’s Jane the Virgin.

It’s all part of the cable network’s plan to groom Ortega to be its next series star.

Written by Alison Brown and Linda Videtti Figueiredo and directed by Jonathan Judge, Stuck in the Middle centers on 12-year-old Harley (Ortega), the ultimate middle child who lives life in the eye of the tornado that is her family. But Harley has big-family life figured out — that is, until the day she needs everyone to be in one place, on time, for her event. It’s chaos times seven, but Harley realizes guts, ingenuity and a seat near the mashed potatoes make living large a whole lot of fun.

Production begins in the spring in consideration for a series premiere later this year.

Ortega also plays Darcy on the Netflix series Richie Rich.
