Gloria Trevi is about to get all melodramatic…
The 44-year-old Mexican pop-rock singer-songwriter has been cast in a leading role as the actress in the telenovela Libre para amar, according to the Mexican soap opera’s producer Emilio Larrosa.
“It’s the first soap opera that she will do,” Larrosa told news agency AFP. “The story is especially [written] for her.”
But convincing Trevi, known as the “Supreme Diva of Mexican Pop,” to join the cast of the telenovela wasn’t easy.
“It was difficult because she’s a big star in music, a winner who fills any place where she performs, but we finally we convinced her,” said Larrosa.
Trevi has reportedly already begun rehearsals for the telenovela.
