TINI Appears on Coldplay’s Latest Single “We Pray”

TINI’s prayer has been answered…

Coldplay has released its new single “We Pray,” which features an appearance by the 27-year-old Argentine singer, actress, dancer and model.

TINIIn addition to TINI, the single also includes vocals by Little Simz, Burna Boy and Palestinian-Chilean singer-songwriter Elyanna.

Few would expect Chris Martin & Co. to lead off a New Music Friday single featuring an All-Star global cast of singers and rappers — but Coldplay has extended their pop-rock superstardom into its third decade largely due to their willingness to embrace younger artists and new sounds.

So it’s not exactly shocking — and decently rousing — to hear Martin belting “We’ll be singing, Baraye!” over a booming Max Martin-co-produced beat as voices from around the world support him in hoping for simpler and safer times.

“I know somewhere that heaven is waitin’/ And so we pray/ I know somewhere there’s something amazin’/ And so we pray/ I know somewhere we’ll feel no pain/ Until we make it to the end of the day,” the uplifting chorus declares.

Coldplay is currently in the midst of their massive Music of the Spheres World Tour.

According to figures reported to Billboard Boxscore, the run has grossed $945.7 million and sold 8.8 million tickets since launching in March 2022. That makes it both the highest grossing and best-selling trek among rock acts in the almost 40 years that Boxscore has been tracking concert data.

Coldplay is gearing up to release their 10th studio album, Moon Music, which is set to drop on October 4 and is led by LP’s first single, “feelslikeimfallinginlove.” In line with the foursome’s long-standing eco-ethics, Coldplay has “gone to great lengths” to make the physical release of Moon Music “as sustainable as possible,” according to a statement.

Each 140g LP will contain some nine recycled PET-plastic bottles recovered from post-consumer waste, and the CD version is said be the “world’s first” to be released on EcoCD, created from 90% recycled polycarbonate, also sourced from post-consumer waste.

TINI previously sang alongside Coldplay at River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires in 2022, singing “Let Somebody Go / Carne y Hueso” during her surprise appearance.

Coldplay Releases Music Video for Selena Gomez Collaboration “Let Somebody Go”

Selena Gomez is letting (somebody) go

The 29-year-old Mexican American actress/singer’s collaboration with Coldplay, “Let Somebody Go,” has received the music video treatment.

Selena Gomez, Chris Martin, Coldplay, Let Somebody GoThe English rock band has unveiled a stunning black and white visual to accompany the emotive track.

In the video, frontman Chris Martin and Gomez inhabit a city that, with the help of impressive CGI work, is turned both upside down and inside out.

The pair shares a loving embrace with each other before taking walks separately through the slowly disintegrating town, later meeting up in an infinitely winding staircase and flying through a turbulent sky.

“All the storms we weathered/ Everything that we went through/ Now, without you, what on earth am I to do?/ When I called the mathematicians and I ask them to explain/ They said love is only equal to the pain,” Gomez sings on her verse of the song. The video concludes with Gomez and Martin in the same area where they shared their first embrace — this time, their bodies fade away to illustrate the passage of time.

During an October 14 appearance on On Air With Ryan Seacrest, the Coldplay frontman explained why he wanted the former Disney Channel star to sing on the track.

“First of all, Selena’s personality inside, she’s just an angel,” Martin shared. “I’ve got so much love and respect for her. She’s such a good, kind person, and then her voice for me is in like what I would call ‘the Rihanna bag,’ which are voices that are gifts to humanity…you can’t feel worse listening to her sing.”

Coldplay and Gomez initially debuted the track in a live joint appearance on the The Late Late Show With James Corden as part of a weeklong residency on October 19.

“Let Somebody Go” served as the second single from Coldplay’s ninth album, Music of the Spheres. The track charted at No. 91 on the Billboard Hot 100, with the album reaching No. 4 on the Billboard 200.

Selena Gomez Joins Coldplay for Debut TV Performance of Their Soothing Duet “Let Somebody Go”

Selena Gomez is letting somebody go

The 29-year-old Mexican American singer/actress appeared on CBSLate Late Show on Monday night (Oct. 18) to make the debut TV performance of “Let Somebody Go,” their soothing duet from the group’s just-released ninth album, Music of the Spheres.

Selena Gomez, Chris Martin

With singer Chris Martin posted up behind his trusty upright piano — adorned with a series of celestial images in keeping with the album’s outer space vibe — the band opened in near-darkness as a series of pink bulbs slowly pulsed while Martin and Gomez sang, “to let somebody, to let somebody go.”

As Selena stood shrouded in the shadows, Martin gently sang about an endless love that he thought would last forever (“I loved you to the moon and back again”), only to see it slip away.

Gomez joined in on the second verse, singing, “All the storms we weathered, everything that we went through/ Now without you what on Earth am I to do?”

Staring into each other’s eyes, they blended their voices to admit, “When I called the mathematicians and I asked them to explain/ They say love is only equal to the pain.”

The collaboration kicked off a week’s worth of planned Late Late Show appearances by the group, who announced the dates for their 2022 sustainable and low-carbon stadium tour last week. The pledged that the outing will be be powered by 100% renewable energy, with a goal of cutting tour emissions by 50% from the group’s 2016-17 world outing and planting one tree for every ticket sold.

Selena Gomez Teaming Up with Coldplay for New Single “Let Somebody Go”

Selena Gomez is at (Cold)play

The 29-year-old Mexican American singer/actress is joining voices with Coldplay for an epic collaboration to appear on the English band’s upcoming album.

Selena Gomez

Gomez, currently starring in Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building, announced on Twitter that she and Coldplay have joined forces on the new song “Let Somebody Go.”

Gomez posted a visual to share the news with her followers, which featured a re-imagined, technicolor version of planet Earth rotating in space, surrounded by dozens of stars.

The brief video also gave fans a sneak peek of the track, on which the “Lose You to Love Me” singer and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin sing, “When I called the mathematicians and I asked them to explain/ They said love is only equal to the pain” over a sweeping pop instrumental background.

No official release date for “Let Somebody Go” has been announced yet, though it is slated to appear on Music of Spheres, Coldplay’s forthcoming album set for release on October 15.
