Blessd & Feid Lead Latest Billboard Latin Airplay Chart with “Si Sabe Ferxxo”

Blessd has another chart-topper on his hands…

The 24-year-old Colombian singer-songwriter and rapper, whose real name is Stiven Mesa Londoño. and Feid combine forces atop Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart, as the pair’s first collaboration “Si Sabe Ferxxo“ climbs from No. 7 to lead the list dated June 1.

Blessd & FeidThe new champ is the second team-up by two Colombian artists to rule the overall Latin radio tally in less than a year, after Shakira and Manuel Turizo united at No. 1 through “Copa Vacía” (one week in charge) in October 2023.

Si Sabe Ferxxo” is one of eight collaborative cuts from Blessd’s 14-track album, Si Sabe, which earned the 24-year-old his first entry on any Billboard albums chart, debuting and reaching No. 29 and No. 15 high on the Top Latin Albums and Latin Rhythm Albums charts dated February 10, respectively.

The song advances to the chart’s summit with a 28% gain in audience impressions, up to 8.5 million, earned in the U.S. during the May 17-23 tracking week, according to Luminate.

With “Si Sabe Ferxxo,” Blessd achieves his second No. 1 on Latin Airplay, following his three-way collab “Medallo,” with Justin Quiles and Lenny Tavarez, in May 2022.

For Feid, “Si Sabe Ferxxo” becomes the hitmaker’s eighth No. 1 on the overall radio ranking, which began with “Porfa,” featuring J Balvin, Maluma, Nicky Jam, Sech and Justin Quiles, climbing to No. 1 in August 2020.

As “Si Sabe Ferxxo” rises to No. 1, it unseats another Warner Latina song from the summit: Myke Towers’ “La Capi” dips 1-5 with a 25% decrease in audience impressions, to 7.71 million.

Elsewhere, thanks to its radio haul, “Si Sabe Ferxxo” rises 36-31 with the Greatest Gainer/Airplay honors of the week on the multi-metric Hot Latin Songs chart, which combines airplay, digital sales and streaming data.

Arcangel to Perform on This Year’s Latin American Music Awards Show

Arcangel is preparing to take to the Latin AMAs stage…

The 38-year-old Dominican American rapper and singer has been added to the performers list for the ninth annual Latin American Music Awards.

ArcángelArcangel appears on the roster of recently added performers that includes Jennifer Nettles, KY-Mani Marley, Mora, Noel Schajris, Sech, Silvestre Dangond and Wisin.

The gala will take place on April 25 live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Actors Danny Pino and Michael Mando in addition to superstars Christian Chávez, Eslabon Armado, Joss Favela and Kali Uchis are all set to present awards.

DJ Steve Aoki and Victoria Justice will also make appearances.

This long list of talent joins previously announced performers: Peso Pluma, Farukko, Jay Wheeler, Justin Quiles, DJ Deorro, Yng Lvcas, Gabito Ballesteros, Marc Anthony, Carin León, Chino Pacas, Lenny Tavárez, Milo Beat, Nacho, Sergio George, Venesti and Zhamira Zambrano.

Anthony is set to premiere his new single “Ale Ale,” from his upcoming album Muevense, which is set to be released on April 26. He has won two Latin AMAs, and this year is nominated for best tropical artist and best tropical collaboration for “La Fórmula” with Maluma.

“I am really excited to have the opportunity of presenting the global premiere of my new song ‘Ale, Ale’ on live television at this year’s Latin American Music Awards, and on that same evening release my new studio album Muevense,” said Anthony in a statement. “The Latin AMAs stage has seen many of my firsts and I am ready to introduce this one to audiences everywhere.”

Mexican music’s big year will be well represented at the awards show this year with appearances by bubbling acts including León, Pacas, Ballesteros and Peso, who returns to the Latin AMA stage after making his TV debut there last year.

Peso, along with reggaeton star Feid, is the most nominated artist of the night with 12 recognitions, including nods in coveted categories like artist of the year, new artist of the year, song of the year, album of the year, and collaboration of the year, among others.

Behind Peso and Feid, Bad Bunny and Grupo Frontera lead the nominations list with 11 each. Karol G and Shakira each tout nine nominations, and Eslabon Armado and Fuerza Regida have eight.

There are 27 categories, with a total of 76 nominees that span all musical genres including pop, urban, música Mexicana and tropical.

The awards show will be hosted by Latin pop phenom Thalia, along with presenter Alejandra Espinoza, and singer-songwriter and television personality Carlos Ponce.

The show will broadcast live from Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Kim Loaiza Among Artists Featured in Telemundo’s Summer Concert Series

The 24-year-old Mexican pop star, YouTuber and influencer will perform a live concert via En Casa con Telemundo as part of the network’s “Summer Concerts in Telemundo, the Road to Billboard Latin Music Awards.”

Kim Loaiza Loaiza’s performance will take place at 2 p.m. ET on Friday, July 8.

The outdoor musical series kicked off Thursday, July 7 with a live performance on the daytime show hoyDía by Regional Mexican artist Larry Hernandez.

The “Road to Premios Billboard” series will air weekly on hoyDia (every Thursday) and En Casa con Telemundo (every Friday), featuring a wave of special guests including Chiquis, CNCO, Gilberto Santa Rosa, and Lenny Tavárez, among others. (The air dates will be announced soon).

The news comes on the heels of Telemundo and Billboard unveiling the 2022 Billboard Latin Music Awards, produced by MBS Special Events, set to take place on September 29 live on Telemundo from Miami’s Watsco Center.

Widely considered the standard-bearer in Latin music, this is the only awards show in the market that honors the most popular albums, songs, and performers in Latin music as determined by the actual sales, streaming, radio airplay, and social data that informs Billboard’s weekly charts during a one-year period.

As has been the case for more than 20 years, the Billboard Latin Music Awards coincide with Billboard’s annual Latin Music Week, the single largest and most important gathering of the Latin music industry, taking place September 26-October 1.

Latin Music Week will feature panels, conversations, and workshops at the Faena Forum, and exclusive performances and fan experiences throughout the week in Miami.

Blessd Earns First No. 1 on Any Billboard Chart with “Medallo,” Featuring Justin Quiles & Lenny Tavarez

It’s a big first for Blessd.

The 22-year-old Colombian singer-songwriter and rapper has secured his first No. 1 on a Billboard chart as “Medallo,” with Justin Quiles and Lenny Tavarez, rises 4-1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay ranking-dated May 21.

It’s also Tavarez’s first leader on the all-Latin genre tally, Quiles captures his third among a collection of 14 entries.

“I’m really excited!” says Stiven Mesa Londoño, better known as Blessd. “When I received the news that we were No. 1 on Billboard, I was very emotional. This only makes me work harder for many more wins.”

“Medallo” hits No. 1 in its 16th week with 11 million audience impressions (up 49%) earned in the U.S. in the week ending May 12, according to Luminate.

It evicts Rosalía’s “La Fama,” with The Weeknd, down to No. 5 after its one-week on top (7.6 million, down 29%).

“Medallo” is the fifth title of 2022, which has landed at the summit in at least 16 weeks or more. The other four comprise Karol G’s “Sejodioto,” Rauw Alejandro’s “Cúrame,” and Marc Anthony’s “Mala,” all with 17 weeks to the top, and Jhay Cortez and Sech’s “Ley Seca” (19 weeks).

Further, Blessd and Tavarez join a crew of five other acts who have secured their first champ on the all-Latin genre Latin Airplay chart in 2022. Here’s a recap of the leaderboard:

The Ovy on the Drums-produced track, concurrently lands atop Latin Rhythm Airplay after its third week at No. 3.

“At first, the idea of ‘Medallo’ was intended to be produced together with another artist who is also well positioned in Colombia,” the 22-year-old Blessd adds. “But in the end, it did not happen. In our counter plan, Lenny and Justin joined in and the song became a global hit.”

Among the trio, “Medallo” finds its home in Blessd’s roster. The tune is one of 10 tracks on the rapper’s Hecho en Medellín album, which has not entered the charts.

“The collaboration with Lenny and Justin was incredible,” Blessd concludes. “We went from making a song to becoming very good friends, the song transcended into my personal life.”

Paulo Londra Logs First & Second Entries in YouTube’s Billion Views Club

The 23-year-old Argentine trap star  has logged two entries in YouTube‘s Billion Views Club this week, with the Lenny Tavárez-assisted “Nena Maldición” and “Adán y Eva.”

The tracks’ official music videos, both from 2018, each crossed 1 billion views this week, becoming Londra’s first and second videos to achieve the feat.

On the Billboard Argentina Hot 100, “Adán Y Eva” peaked at No. 1 back in 2018. Meanwhile, “Nena Maldición” spent 14 weeks on the tally, peaking at No. 61 that same year.

News of Londra’s two music videos raking in 1 billion views comes during a busy week for the singer-songwriter. A multimillion-dollar, two-year dispute between Londra and his label, Big Ligas, was settled amicably in a Miami courtroom Wednesday (Nov. 10), just three days into the trial.

In a statement provided to Billboard by Londra and Big Ligas’ attorneys, they said: “The parties’ lawyers have stated that the parties are happy to announce that they have resolved their differences and that they will make a joint press release in the future.”

Warner will continue to administer Londra’s existing works, but no comment was provided as to his future projects.

A slow-tempo single with reggaeton beats, the collaboration offers a combination of Bahía’s romance with Tavárez’s sensuality.

The song came into Bahia’s hands thanks to the Colombian producer and composer Sky Rompiendo.

It was re-written by Bahía, Cauty, Sky Rompiendo, JuanJha, Nina, Spreadlof, Eudis and Tavárez.

The lyrics of the song reflect the earnest hope of a young love who seeks to spend the rest of his days with the one he loves: “All I want is to live by your side/as an old man with red eyes/because of all the kisses you gave me; I’m, I’m in love.”

The agreement between Warner and the Latin music newcomer will further develop the artist’s musical career, including the release of his upcoming studio album.

“Micro TDH is the new face of the Urban Latin music movement and I am sure that one day he will be recognized as one of the best Latin songwriters of all time,” said Iñigo Zabala, president of Warner Music Latin America & Iberia in a statement. “It is an incredible privilege to work with such a multifaceted and talented artist.”

Managing director Gabriela Martinez agrees, calling Micro one of the most sought-after young acts. “With his incomparable talent, charisma, unique sound, and our vision we will work hard to grow his music,” she adds.

With over two million followers on Instagram, Micro TDH is a singer-songwriter who has caught the attention of music lovers with his soulful hip-hop fusions and raw lyrics about love, heartbreak, and life lessons, overall.

He first got on the international radar with his collaboration on Piso 21’s feel-good track “Te Vi,” which peaked at No. 28 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart dated May 11, 2019. Lenny Tavarez Releases Debut Solo Album “Krack”

After blessing fans with new music for the last few months, the 34-year-old Puerto Rican singer has finally released his debut solo album Krack via Warner Music Latina.

Tavarez, who kicked off his solo career after leaving Puerto Rican duo Dylan and Lenny, calls the album his “first opportunity at life.” He’s also grateful for his new record label giving him total creative liberty with the album strategy.

“I decided to launch the album progressively, in four seasons, because I wanted fans to digest all the flavors, sounds, and lyrics that it brings,” he tells Billboard.

The album is home to 14 tracks, including “La Neta,” “A Cien” and focus track “Lo Tengo Todo.”

The set includes collaborations with Nicky JamRauw AlejandroZion & Lennox and Natanael Cano, to name a few.

Though Tavarez has released the singles sporadically and in groups, the album has been nearly five years in the making.

“My intention is to do different music without changing the genre,” he says. “Krack was created with a lot of sacrifices and stories of perseverance.”
