Natanael Cano Makes Debut on Billboard Latin Rhythm Albums Chart with “Trap Tumbado”

The 19-year-oldMexican singer makes his debut on Billboard‘s Latin Rhythm Albums chart as his first-ever trap album Trap Tumbado arrives at No. 11 on the July 11 survey.

The eight-track all-trap set opens with a little more than 3,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending July 2, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data, with the bulk of the opening sum stemming from streaming activity.

The Latin Rhythm Albums chart ranks the most popular Latin rhythm albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units. Units are comprised of traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).

Trap Tumbado registered 3,000 SEA units, which equates to 4.3 million on-demand streams for the album’s songs in its opening week.

The album, mostly sung in Spanish, was released June 26 via Rancho Humilde. It features collaborations with artists Tyan G, Lil Tecca and JhonnyX, among others.

Cano earned commercial success with “Soy El Diablo,” with Bad Bunny. The song debuted and peaked at No. 16 on the Hot Latin Songs chart dated November 9, 2019.

Myke Towers Earns First No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums Chart with “Easy Money Baby”

The 26-year-old Puerto Rican rapper, singer and composer has earned his first leader on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart as Easy Money Baby debuts at No. 1 on the chart dated February 10.

It’s Towers’ first appearance on any Billboard Albums chart, as it concurrently debuts atop the Latin Rhythm Albums chart.

His sophomore full-length album arrives atop the chart with 12,000 equivalent album units accrued in the week ending January 30, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.

“This is a giant step in this new phase of my career,” Towers tells Billboard. “This is an album in which I gave it all for my fans who have long expected this release. The first time is always special and to debut at No. 1 not only on the Latin Rhythm Albums chart but on the overall Top Latin Albums chart is a dream come true!”

Top Latin Albums ranks the most popular Latin albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units. Units comprise traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).

The bulk of EasyMoney’s opening sum is attributed to streaming activity. The 18-track effort registered a little over 11,000 in SEA units, which equates to 15.1 million on-demand streams for the set’s tracks.

The new father, who shares the album’s cover with his infant son, debuts at No. 1 in his first chart visit. Towers becomes the rare act to grab a chart leader in its first try since Bad Bunny secured his first No. 1 on Top Latin Albums with X 100Pre (January 5, 2019).

Natti Natasha’s debut album opens big…

The 32-yar-old Dominican singer and songwriter’sdebut album ilumiNATTI has launched at No. 3 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart dated March 2, scoring the largest week for a Latin album by a solo woman in more than a year and a half.

The 17-song set was released February 15 via Pina Records/Sony Music Latinand opens with 7,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending February 21, according to Nielsen Music.

Of that sum, a little over 3,000 were in album sales, while most of the remaining units were generated by streaming activity (equaling 3.9 million on-demand audio streams for the album’s songs during the week).

ilumiNATTIis Natti’s first studio effort and first entry on the tally.

The last album by a woman to post a larger week, in terms of units, was Shakira’s El Dorado, which tallied a little more than 7,000 units at No. 1 on the July 15, 2017-dated list (the set’s fifth week on the chart). One week later, a pair of women teamed up for a larger frame, when Gloria Treviand Alejandra Guzman’s Versus bowed at No. 1 with 8,000 units.

ilumiNATTI’s sales start of 3,000, lands the album a No. 1 bow on the Latin Album Saleschart.

Beyond its Top Latin Albums top 10 start, ilumiNATTIalso bows at No. 3 on the Latin Rhythm Albumschart.

Two songs from the album are generating chart action: “Me Gusta” ascends 30-26 with the Digital Greatest Gainerhonors on the Hot Latin Songschart, which blends airplay, digital sales and streaming data, while “La Mejor Versión de Mi” debuts at No. 41 on the current tracking week.

ChocQuibTown Signs Management Deal with La Industria

ChocQuibTown is under new management…

The Latin Grammy-winning Colombian group has signed a management deal with La Industria, according to Billboard.

The trio, comprised of Gloria Martínez “Goyo,” Mike Martínez “Slow” and Carlos Valencia “Tostao, joins the Industria family led by Juan Diego Medina, who manages Nicky Jam, Saga White Black and Valentino.

ChocQuibTown’s 2015 album El Mismo reached the No. 5 spot on Billboard‘s Latin Rhythm Albums chart.

Last summer, the Grammy-nominated group scored their first No. 1 on Billboard’s Tropical Songs chart with their single “Desde el día en que te fuiste” (chart dated August 6, 2016).

ChocQuibTown’s “De donde vengo yo” will be the official song for ESPN Deportes‘ 2017 World Baseball Classic coverage.

Jory Boy Earns First Billboard Chart-Topper with “Detras De Ti”

It’s a special first for Jory Boy…

The 30-year-old Puerto Rican urban artist has scored his first No. 1 on a Billboard songs chart as “Detras De Ti” rises 4-1 on the Tropical Songs chart in its ninth charting frame (up 36 percent in spins).

He concurrently debuts at No. 2 on the Latin Rhythm Albums chart with his EP, Otra Liga.

In October 2015, Jory Boy earned his first chart-topper when he debuted at No. 1 on the Latin Rhythm Albums chart with Matando La Liga.

Boston’s WAMG-AM championed the track with 63 spins, while fellow Massachusetts station, WORC, Springfield, followed the top weekly plays with 59. In all, 17 stations on the panel supported the track in the latest tracking week.

The latest single has amassed 1.7 million U.S. on-demand video and audio streams to date, with 129,000 logged in the most recent week. A remix with Ozuna has amassed nearly 4 million global views on YouTube.

Yandel’s “Dangerous” Debuts at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums Chart

Yandel is back at the top of the charts…

The 38-year-old Puerto Rican reggaeton musician debuts at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart (dated Nov. 28) with his latest studio release, Dangerous.

Yandel’s album sold 5,000 copies sold in the week ending November 12, according to Nielsen Music.

It’s the chart veteran’s second solo No. 1 following De Lider a Leyenda, which started with 6,000 in 2013.

He also led the list five times as half of reggaeton duo Wisin & Yandel.)

In addition, on the Latin Rhythm Albums chart, Yandel’s set starts at No. 1. When combined with his chart-toppers as part of Wisin & Yandel, brings his total to 11.

Meanwhile, Yandel’s single “Encantadora” hops 22-18 on the Hot Latin Songs chart, marking his seventh trip to the top 20.
