Natti Natasha Scores Largest Sales Week on the Latin Charts by a Solo Woman in More Than a Year

The 32-yar-old Dominican singer and songwriter’sdebut album ilumiNATTI has launched at No. 3 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart dated March 2, scoring the largest week for a Latin album by a solo woman in more than a year and a half.

The 17-song set was released February 15 via Pina Records/Sony Music Latinand opens with 7,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending February 21, according to Nielsen Music

Of that sum, a little over 3,000 were in album sales, while most of the remaining units were generated by streaming activity (equaling 3.9 million on-demand audio streams for the album’s songs during the week).

The last album by a woman to post a larger week, in terms of units, was Shakira’s El Dorado, which tallied a little more than 7,000 units at No. 1 on the July 15, 2017-dated list (the set’s fifth week on the chart). One week later, a pair of women teamed up for a larger frame, when Gloria Treviand Alejandra Guzman’s Versus bowed at No. 1 with 8,000 units.

ilumiNATTI’s sales start of 3,000, lands the album a No. 1 bow on the Latin Album Saleschart.

Beyond its Top Latin Albums top 10 start, ilumiNATTIalso bows at No. 3 on the Latin Rhythm Albumschart.

Two songs from the album are generating chart action: “Me Gusta” ascends 30-26 with the Digital Greatest Gainerhonors on the Hot Latin Songschart, which blends airplay, digital sales and streaming data, while “La Mejor Versión de Mi” debuts at No. 41 on the current tracking week.

Thalia’s “Valiente” Debuts at No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Pop Albums Chart

The 47-year-old Mexican singer’s latest album Valiente debuts at No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Pop Albums chart.

Thalia’s 14th studio album, Valiente, released via Sony Music Latin on November 9, starts with a little over 2,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending November 15. Of that sum, 2,000 were in traditional album sales, while the remaining can be attributed to streaming equivalent album units and track equivalent album units.

Valiente is Thalia’s seventh chart leader and her first in more than two years. She’s now tied with Shakira for the most No. 1s on the Latin Pop Albums chart among women.

Thalia last reigned atop the tally with Latina (May 28, 2016), which led for two consecutive weeks.

The set has yielded one charting title on the Hot Latin Songs tally, which blends airplay, digital sales, and streaming activity: “No Me Acuerdo” with Natti Natasha ranked in the top 20 for ten weeks (No. 14 peak, September 22).

Concurrently, Valiente debuts at No. 7 on the Top Latin Albums and No. 1 on the Latin Album Sales charts.

 

Christian Nodal’s Debut Album Opens at No. 1 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Albums Chart

Christian Nodal is No. 1 with a bullet… 

The 18-year-old Mexican singer-songwriter’s debut album Me Deje Llevar has opened at No. 1 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Albums chart with 9,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending August 31, according to Nielsen Music.

In addition, Nodal also arrives at No. 2 on the Top Latin Albums chart.

Of the total sum, 6,000 were in traditional album sales, helping Nodal also open at No. 2 on the Latin Album Sales chart.

Concurrently, Nodal’s second single “Probablemente,” featuring David Bisbal, rises 25-20 on the Hot Latin Songs chart.

Nodal’s first hit, “Adios Amor,” reached No. 4 in February.

Residente Announces Summer North American Tour

Residente is taking his show on the road…

The 39-year-old Puerto Rican rapper will kick off his summer world tour in Mexico City on June 17. He’ll then visit the U.S. in August for a coast-to-coast trek.

Residente, the winner of 24 Latin Grammys, announced the dates on Monday for the North American leg of the tour, which includes stops in New York (Aug. 10), Los Angeles (Aug. 19) and Miami (Aug. 31).

The tour follows Residente’s self-titled debut album, which was released March 31 and peaked at No. 1 on BillboardWorld Albums and Latin Album Sales charts (dated April 22).
