Lucy Liu Marvels in Herrera’s Floral Fancy Gown…

Carolina Herrera may not have attended the 70th Annual Golden Globes… But her work was in full bloom on the red carpet and awards show stage.

Elementary star Lucy Liu made a bold and unconventional choice when she dressed in one of the iconic Venezuelan fashion designer’s most eye-catching gowns.

“It’s quite different, it has a beautiful romantic twist” said Liu of the whimsical strapless gown, which was part of the designers Pre-Fall 2013 collection.

To let Herrera’s dress, one of the most voluminous of the night, get all the attention it deserved, Liu kept her accessories to a minimum with diamond drop earrings from Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.

It’s Herrera’s latest big Hollywood moment… She previously designed the bridal gown worn by Kristen Stewart’s character Bella in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part I.

In addition to Herrera’s Superstar prize, Haider Ackermann, Gareth Pugh and Derek Lam will also be honored with special awards, and the Marmotti Family of Max Mara will receive the Brand Heritage Award.

Diaz: Hollywood’s Highest-Paid Latina Actresses

She may have co-starred with Jennifer Lopez in What to Expect When You’re Expecting… But Cameron Diaz is in a league of her own when it comes to commanding a big paycheck in Hollywood.

The 39-year-old half Cuban American actress ranks No. 2 on Forbes list of the Highest Paid Actresses in Hollywood. And she’s the only Latina to make the Top 10.

Cameron Diaz

Diaz earned major bank for appearing in Bad Teacher, What to Expect When You’re Expecting and The Green Hornet.

Bad Teacher was a surprise hit, earning a healthy $216 million at the global box office. While it would be considered a decent haul under any circumstance, it proved to be an especially good result for Bad Teacher, which cost only $20 million to make. Diaz had a deal to take home a nice chunk of the film’s profits, which were substantial.

Add that to her earnings for What to Expect When You’re Expecting and The Green Hornet, and Forbes estimates Diaz took home $34 million between May 2011 and May 2012.

Diaz, who could soon be penning a health and wellness book for young girls, narrowly missed taking the top spot from Kristen Stewart. The Twilight Saga and Snow White and the Huntsman starlet tops the Hollywood heap with her $34.5 million.

AMC Networks Acquires Braga’s “On the Road”

It looks like Alice Braga’s latest film will be released in theaters this fall…

The 29-year-old Brazilian actress’ On the Road has been acquired by AMC Networks a week before it premieres in competition at the Cannes Film Festival.

Alice Braga

Buying all U.S. rights to Walter Salles’ adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s classic novel of the same name, AMC Networks announced that its distribution labels IFC Films and Sundance Selects will release the film later this fall in theaters.

Along with Braga—who rose to fame following her starring role opposite Will Smith in I Am Legend—the film stars Twilight’s Kristen Stewart, TRON: Legacy’s Garrett Hedlund, Kirsten Dunst, Amy Adams, Elisabeth Moss and Viggo Mortensen.

Jose Rivera wrote the screenplay for the film, which brings to life the classic novel based on the spontaneous cross-country adventures of Kerouac and his friends during the middle of the 20th century.

On the Road is considered a defining work of the postwar Beat Generation that was inspired by jazz, poetry and drug experiences. While many of the names and details of Kerouac’s experiences are changed for the novel, hundreds of references in On the Road have real-world counterparts.

del Castillo to Play a Transsexual in “K-11”

It may be a” man’s man’s man’s world,” according to James Brown But Kate del Castillo isn’t afraid to make her mark in it. Following her starring role as the most powerful drug trafficker in southern Spain in the popular telenovela La Reina del Sur,” she’s now preparing for her most awe-inspiring role to date.

Kate del Castillo

The 39-year-old Mexican actress will star as Mousey—a transsexual who controls one of the sections of a Los Angeles County men’s prison—in the dramatic film K-11.

Helmed by first-time director Jules Stewart—the mother of Twilight actress Kristen Stewart— del Castillo will play the physically fit character that likes showing a lot of skin.

Kate del Castillo in K-11

The story centers on Raymond Saxx Jr. (Goran Visnjic), a straight record producer who, after a drug-induced blackout, wakes up locked up in K-11, the unit of the prison reserved for gay men and transsexuals who, for their safety, are segregated from the general population. It’s there that he comes across del Castillo’s character, who controls the area.

“I was like, ‘This is sci-fi, almost’” says Visnjic of his first reading of the script for the indie drama. “The character is put in such an extreme situation.”

del Castillo, who filmed the project last summer, has given her character a very distinctive personality. In the film, the telenovela star dons a part of platform heels made of slabs of meat. And, she wears a band on her left wrist that reads “Julio,” the name that reveals the male identity she left behind.

K-11 is set for release later this year.

Serratos & Her Fellow Twilight Stars Attend Film’s LA Premiere…

It’s an electrifying night for the stars of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 1, including Christian Serratos

The 21-year-old part-Mexican actress—who plays Angela Weber, Bella’s best human friend in the blockbuster vampire films—joined her co-stars for the Breaking Dawn – Part 1 premiere in Los Angeles. Serratos looked stunning in a fuschia Alexander McQueen strapless silk chiffon dress.

Thousands of Twihards had been camping out in a virtual tent city since the end of last week to catch a glimpse of Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and Mia Maestro (who sings the first Spanish song to appear on a Twilight soundtrack) and the rest of the stars as they made their way down the black carpet at L.A. Live’s Nokia Theater.

Breaking Dawn Premiere

“I heard about tent city,” Serratos recently told Access Hollywood. “I had no idea that fans were out there already. I know they do it every movie, but for them to be out there already is very cool, very supportive.”

Prior to the film’s premiere, Serratos—who admits to having limited screen time in Breaking Dawn – Part 1—was experiencing a case of Twilight fever herself.

“I’m more excited for this movie than I have been for any of the others,” she said about this latest installment, based on her favorite book in Stephenie Meyers’ “Twilight” series.  “And I’m in it the least!”

So what’s her favorite scene in Breaking Dawn – Part 1? The same one the rest of the world can’t wait to see either: the vow exchange between Edward and Bella.

“It felt like a real wedding,” says Serratos, who studied ballet and competed in ice-skating competition while growing up in California. “It was emotional…especially because they made the wedding the very last scene we all shot together.”

Since she plays Bella’s best human friend, the question must be asked… Team Edward or Team Jacob?

“I used to play it cool and say I was neutral, but [expletive] it — I’m Team Edward!” Serratos told Access Hollywod.

Breaking Dawn – Part 1 opens nationwide this Friday, November 18.

First Watch: Mars’ “It Will Rain” Video

It’s time for Bruno Mars to experience what Twilight fever’s all about…

The 25-year-old half Puerto Rican crooner’s video for the lead single from the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1 soundtrack is streaming now online.

Bruno Mars

Mars’ “It Will Rain” video isn’t necessarily a peek into the fourth installment of the international smash vampire movie franchise. Instead, with its soft-focus shots and faded lighting, it looks more like a commercial for Levi’s.

Some “Twilight Saga” footage of newlyweds Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Bella (Kristen Stewart) is featured briefly in the video, projected on a wall as Mars and his lover struggle through a break-up.

Meanwhile, the 15-track “Breaking Dawn” soundtrack, which features the first Spanish-language song on any Twilight film soundtrack, is on sale now.

Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1 opens nationwide on November 18.
