Anthony Teaming with Timbaland to Develop a Hip-Hop Docuseries

La La Anthony is shining a light on the hip-hop industry…

The 36-year-old Puerto Rican actress, author and producer is teaming up with and Grammy-winning producer Timbaland and Leftfield Pictures to develop a hip-hop docuseries.

La La Anthony

The project will focus on Jeff Janvier and Session Cruz’s Face Time Agency, the industry’s premiere casting agency for booking music video and hip-hop fashion models, with clients including Drake, Kanye West and Robin Thicke.

Set inside the New York City nightlife scene – where clubs have become the new boardrooms – the series exposes the cutthroat entrepreneurial side of hip-hop, with models, DJs and social media stars “hustling” to break through as fashion, music and media moguls.

“La La and Timbaland are perfect examples of what can be achieved when talent, determination and creativity collide with entrepreneurship,” said Leftfield Entertainment CEO David George. “We’re thrilled to be in business with these two entertainment innovators to create a series that uncovers a unique, rarified faction of hip hop and provides a true soundtrack for the unpredictable journey toward fame and fortune.”

Anthony will executive produce the project, with Timbaland serving as exec music producer.

“I’m thrilled to be executive producing a project that offers a true insider’s look into the business side of hip hop, especially one that explores the lives of fascinating women who have used hip hop as their platform to become successful entrepreneurs in fashion, music and more,” said Anthony.

Fifth Harmony Releases Official “Bo$$” Music Video

Camila Cabello, Lauren Jauregui and Ally Brooke Hernandez are revved up and ready to show the world who’s boss.

The Latina singers and their fellow Fifth Harmony band members have officially released the high-energy video for their hard-nosed new single “Bo$$.”

Fifth Harmony

“Shut your mouth/Boy I think you know who run this house,” declare the members of the Simon Cowell-created all-girl group in unison.

The track, which reflects Fifth Harmony’s marked maturation from last year’s Better Together“EP, proves they mean business.

“The concept for the video, it’s very empowering and kind of defines ‘Bo$$’ in different settings,” Hernandez shared with MTV. “We have four or five different set-ups and each kind of represents us in our own element, us kind of owning that certain situation.”

She added, “As we grow, our music grows, and it’s very natural and organic and it’s nothing that’s forced, which is really really important to us because we don’t want to just do something drastic just to do it. We want to do something that’s more real to us.”

Kicking over chairs while dressed in white jackets, beating dudes in arm-wrestling matches, strutting their stuff during a photo shoot — it’s all in a day’s work for the ladies, who flash nary a smile while flaunting their independence as women.

The girls’ choreography is stop on, and their name-checking of First Lady Michelle Obama and rap superstar Kanye West is amusing, and Fifth Harmony looks to be reaching a whole new level as a collective.

Fifth Harmony’s debut album will be released in the fall, and until then, the quintet will support Austin Mahone on his summer tour, beginning July 25 in San Antonio.

“It’s definitely more rhythmic,” says Hernandez told Billboard of Fifth Harmony’s upcoming album in March. “Sonically, it’s a little cooler. It’s laid-back. It’s less pop.”

The girls will also perform “Bo$$” on NBC‘s TODAY this Friday (July 11).

Fifth Harmony Previews Full Version of New Single “Bo$$” on MTV

Camila Cabello, Lauren Jauregui, Ally Brooke Hernandez aren’t afraid to boss around…

The Latina singers and their fellow Fifth Harmony members have released the full version of the band’s new single “Bo$$” on MTV.

Fifth Harmony

The upbeat and empowering pop/R&B track finds the five members displaying their confidence, even comparing themselves to Maybachs.

In the song, they also name-drop Michelle Obama (“Boss/ Michelle Obama/ Purse so heavy, gettin’ Oprah dollars”) and Kanye West (“You’re talking to a lady, I want a Kanye and not a Ray J“).

The music video for “Bo$$,” which has already been shot, is scheduled to be released on Tuesday, July 8. Speaking to MTV on the set recently, Fifth Harmony’s Cabello explained what the song is really about.

“The whole point of this song is for girls who are our age to turn it on and feel confident and empowered because at this age being insecure is such a normal, common thing,” she said. “So I think when you turn that song on, feel sexy and feel good about yourself, so the whole point is about being yourself and liking it.”

“Bo$$” serves as the lead single off the girls’ upcoming full-length debut album, which currently has no title or official release date.
