After making her mark in the worlds of music, television and fashion, Selena Gomez is going postal. Literally!
The 19-year-old half-Mexican singer/actress’ latest venture: helping fund an app that lets you print and send postcards from their mobile devices, according to All Things D.
Gomez first learned about the app, called Postcard on the Run, while on tour and instantly fell in love with it.
“And told all my friends about it,” added Gomez, who recently released the official video for her latest single, “Hit the Lights.”
After reaching out to the company to see how she could help, Gomez reportedly offered part of the $750,000 of start-up round funding, as well as some good old-fashioned promotion.
So far her word of mouth has produced good results. Postcard on the Run’s founder and CEO Josh Brooks says a single post by Gomez on her Facebook page led to 20,000 app downloads in 24 hours
The former Disney star, who has more than eight million followers on Twitter and 25 million likes on her Facebook page, even Tweeted about her involvement with the company earlier this month.
“Alright guys, I partnered with Post Cards on the Run for a fun campaign,” she wrote, along with sharing a link to an announcement that includes possibly receiving a personal postcard from Gomez.
And she’s even using the app herself, already sending at least 12 postcards through the app to her grandmother.
