Adrian Quesada & His Black Pumas to Perform at Milwaukee’s Summerfest

Adrian Quesada has some big summer plans…

The Grammy Award-winning producer and guitarist and his Black Pumas will be performing at one of summer’s staple events, Milwaukee’s Summerfest.

The festival is back this year with a packed lineup after taking 2020 off due to the global coronavirus pandemic. After canceling for the first time in its 53-year history, organizers announced the star-studded roster of acts slated to perform over three weekends: September 2-4, 9-11 and 16-18.

 

In addition to Quesada’s Black Pumas taking the stage, the nation’s biggest music festival will feature headline sets in the 23,000-capacity American Family Insurance Amphitheater from Miley Cyrus, Luke Bryan, Chance the Rapper, the Jonas Brothers, Chris Stapleton, and Dave Matthews Band, as well as performances from Sheryl Crow, the Zac Brown Band, Gabby Barrett and 24kGoldn.

Others on tap to play are 311, Run the Jewels, Brett Eldredge, G-Eazy, Wilco, Diplo, Charlie Wilson, Pixies, ZZ Top, Rise Against, Fitz and the Tantrums, Dirty Heads, Jake Owen, Bleachers, Flo Rida, Lindsey Stirling, Goo Goo Dolls, T-Pain, Ludacris, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, The Struts, Nelly, Cam, Blanco Brown, Sugarhill Gang, Psychedelic Furs, Maddie & Tae, Liz Phair, Claud and many more.

“We could not be more excited to unveil the lineup for Summerfest,” Milwaukee World Festival Inc. President/CEO Don Smiley said in a statement. “From first-timers, including Chance the Rapper, Miley Cyrus, and Run the Jewels, to Fest favorites including Dave Matthews Band, T-Pain, Styx and Chris Stapleton, our lineup continues to be one of the most diverse and unique in the industry.”

Summerfest has traditionally run from late June to early July over an 11-day stretch, but this year organizers have pushed it back to the fall as the nationwide COVID-19 vaccine roll-out continues and the nation attempts to reach herd immunity.

The 29-year-old Colombian reggaeton singer appears in the energetic music video for “X,” her new single with the Jonas Brothers.

Set against a white background, the video features the JoBros dancing, enjoying a drink and playing instruments inside individual phone screens. Karol G soon appears on a fourth screen, wearing a sizzling all-red ensemble as she sings her verses.

“She said oh oh oh, kiss me like your ex is in the room,” they sing in the infectious hook.

The Jonas Brothers and Karol G will perform the new song on The Voice’s two-hour finale airing at 9:00 pm EST/PST Tuesday (May 19) on NBC.

The 29-year-old Colombian reggaeton singer-songwriter is joining voices with the Jonas Brothers for the band of brothers’ new single “X.”

The JoBros revealed the artwork for the new single, which shows a white outlines letter X on top of red lips, on their social media accounts.

Without giving too many details, the Jonas Brothers also announced that “X” will be released this Friday, May 15.

On release day, Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas will take part in and answer fan questions in a virtual SiriusXM Hits 1 Celebrity Session hosted by The Morning Mash Up, where they’ll interact with an audience of frontline healthcare workers and their families from across the country. 

The Jonas Brothers will talk about their music, including their upcoming collaboration with Karol G.

Their Karol G-assisted track marks the second time the Jonas Brothers have teamed up with a Latin act, following the 2019 summer bop “Runaway” with Sebastian Yatra,Daddy Yankee and Natti Natasha.

The LeBron James Family Foundation announced that it’s paying tribute to the class of 2020 with a one-hour multimedia event called Graduate Together: America Honors the High School Class of 2020, with the 26-year-old Puerto Rican reggaeton and Latin trap singer joining the roster of participating artists.

James’ virtual graduation party for this year’s graduation class, who’s seen their school year cancelled because of the coronavirus, will take place on Saturday, May 16 at 8:00 pm ET simultaneously on NBC, ABC, CBS, and Fox— as well as on the streaming platforms Complex Networks, Facebook app, Instagram, People TV, Snapchat, TikTok and YouTube.

In addition to Bad Bunny, the lineup includes Kane Brown, Lana Condor, David Dobrik, Dolan Twins, Karol G, Liza Koshy, Maren Morris, National Teacher of the Year Rodney Robinson, Olivia Wilde, Zendaya, Charli D’Amelio, Dixie D’Amelio, Chika, YBN Cordae, Loren Gray, H.E.R., the Jonas Brothers, Brandan Bmike Odums, Ben Platt, Henry Platt, Jonah Platt, Megan Rapinoe, Yara Shahidi, Lena Waithe, Pharrell Williams, Malala Yousafzaiand many more.

Working with the XQ Instituteand The Entertainment Industry Foundation, the show will allow the companies to honor the more than three million high school seniors who’ll miss out on the annual rite of passage due to the national shutdown caused by the COVID-19pandemic.

“We learned early on in our work with students and families in Akron that education is so much more than academics,” said James in a statement.

“It’s about a shared experience, a journey we’re all on together—students, parents, educators, community members, and everyone around them. With that not being possible right now, we’ve been working to find ways to help families get through this really difficult time. These students have worked incredibly hard for this and there’s no way we can let that go unrecognized. While this won’t be the graduation experience they were supposed to get, we hope we can still give them something special because they deserve it.”

The commercial-free show will be curated by high school students and educators from across the country, with support from the American Federation of Teachers, highlighted by a collection of commencement addresses, celebrity performances and inspirational vignettes.

Students, educators, and families are encouraged to submit their videos and photos online for consideration to be included in the telecast using #GraduateTogether. Artist JR is also inviting seniors to share their portraits for a national virtual yearbook celebrating the entire Class of 2020. 

Local TV stations will feature custom breakaways to celebrate the achievements of high school students in their communities.

Graduate Together: America Honors the High School Class of 2020will be broadcast commercial-free on May 16 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC.

Christina Aguilera to Perform New Song “Fall on Me” at the American Music Awards

Christina Aguilera is ready to introduce new music to the world…

The half-Ecuadorian American singer is set to perform at the 2019 American Music Awards.

Aguilera and A Great Big World, who first collaborated together in 2013, the same year they performed “Say Something” at the American Music Awards, will premiere a new vocal collaboration at this year’s awards show.   

The single is called “Fall on Me,” and will be released on Friday, just days before Aguilera and A Great Big World perform it live at the show.

Aguilera and A Great Big World join a roster of new additions to the performers list that includes Post Malone featuring Ozzy Osbourne, Travis Scott and Watt and Green Day.

Malone, joined by Osbourne, Scott and Watt, will also perform their new single live on television.

Green Day, meanwhile, will celebrate 25 years since releasing their 1994 album, Dookie, with a performance of “Basket Case” and their latest hit, “Father of All…“

The additions to the lineup join previously announced performers the Jonas Brothers, Camila Cabello, Billie Eilish, Selena Gomez, Lizzo, Dua Lipa, Kesha feat. Big Freedia, Shania Twain and Thomas Rhett, as well as Artist of the Decaderecipient Taylor Swift.

The 2019 American Music Awards, hosted by Ciara, will air live from the Microsoft Theaterin Los Angeles on November 24 at 8:00 pm ET on ABC. Voting is open until November 20.

Becky G to Host & Perform at This Year’s MTV Europe Music Awards

Becky G is pulling double duty in Europe…

The 22-year-old Mexican American bilingual singer-songwriter, who just released the trilingual track “Chicken Noodle Soup” with BTS’J-Hope, is set to host this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards, as well as perform at the awards show, which will take place in Seville, Spain.

Becky G is set for a busy night as she also has a nomination, taking on Ariana Grande, Camila Cabello, Halsey, the Jonas Brothers, and Shawn Mendes in the Best Pop category.

Becky G has notched two number one hits on the Billboard Latin Airplay charts –  “Mayores” and “Sin Pijama” – and on-screen had a starring role in the Power Rangersmovie. She has also guest-starred on the Foxseries Empire.

“Becky G is an exceptional multifaceted talent who’s no stranger to the global stage,” said Bruce Gillmer, global head of music and talent,Viacom and co-brand head, MTV International. “We can’t wait to see her light up the MTV EMAstage in Seville.”

Sofia Reyes to Co-Host the Billboard Music Awards Red Carpet Live Show

The 23-year-old singer-songwriter and actress will host the BBMAs Red Carpet Live on Wednesday, May 1, ahead of the 2019 Billboard Music Awards.

Reyes, who released her latest single “R.I.P.” with Anitta and Rita Ora in March, will work alongside Sway Callowayand Jaymes Vaughanin her hosting capacity.

The two-hour pre-show will take place on the red carpet at the MGM Grand Garden Arenain Las Vegas beginning at 6:00 pm ET/3:00 pm PT. 

Fans can catch the entire pre-show live on Twitter via the awards show’s official handle, @BBMAs, as hosts Calloway, Reyes and Vaughan conduct exclusive interviews from the red carpet and run down the night’s jam-packed roster of nominees, performers and presenters.

DirecTV Releases First Trailer for “Kingdom,” Starring Sanchez

Kiele Sanchez’s kingdom has come…

DirecTV has released the first trailer for its upcoming MMA-themed drama series Kingdom, starring the 37-year-old half-Puerto Rican actress.

Previously titled Navy St., the 10-episode drama is described as a gritty family drama set in the Mixed Martial Arts world.

Frank Grillo (Prison Break) stars as Alvey Kulina, an MMA legend and owner of a Venice California-based Mixed Martial Arts gym.

Nick Jonas, formerly of the Jonas Brothers, plays Alvey’s close-shaved and ripped prize-fighter son Nate. Jonathan Tucker (The Ruins, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) plays Nate’s younger brother, a world-class athlete who lost everything. And Kiele Sanchez (Lost, The Glades, The Purge: Anarchy) plays Alvey’s current girlfriend Lisa Prince, while Joanna Going (House of Cards) plays Alvey’s ex-wife Christina.

Kingdom premieres October 8 at 9:00 pm ET exclusively on DIRECTV’s Audience, channel 239.

Pitbull to be Featured on “E!’s Inside Track Summer Concert Series”

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like for musicians like Pitbull on the road, you’re in luck.

E! will be taking viewers inside some of the summer’s biggest concert tours, including the 32-year-old Cuban American rap artist’s tour with Ke$ha.

The cable network will launch E!’s Inside Track Summer Concert Series as a regular part of E! News. The special collaboration with Live Nation will offer viewers a window into the life of some of the day’s biggest musical acts.

The Summer Concert Series will kick off June 21 at 7 p.m. with footage from Pitbull and Ke$ha’s Detroit concert and feature performances from Brad Paisley in Tampa, Jonas Brothers (Chicago),  Backstreet Boys (Chicago), New Kids on the Block (Detroit), Big Time Rush (Phoenix) plus Matchbox Twenty and the Goo Goo Dolls (St. Louis).

“E! thrives in the music space, and we’re excited to team up with Live Nation in a unique way that takes the summer concert series to a whole new level,” said Cyndi McClellan, president of network strategy and E! News. “Not only will viewers see their favorite music megastars taking the stage, we’re also serving the super fan with unprecedented behind-the-scenes access to these performers.”
