Ana Isabel is getting imprisoned

The 31-year-old Puerto Rican actress and singer, whose full name is Ana Isabel Acevedo Avilés, will star in the indie thriller Imprisoned, according to Variety.

Ana Isabelle

Ana Isabel joins a cast that includes Laurence Fishburne, Juan Pablo Raba, Juana Acosta, Jon Huertas, Esai Morales and John Heard.

Paul Kampf is directing from his own script, described as a revenge thriller wrapped around a love story with the question of the sacrifices made for love. Fishburne is playing the local prison warden. Raba and Acosta play a couple and Ana Isabel portrays her daughter — a young woman who never knew her father.

The film is scheduled to begin production in May in Puerto Rico.

Ana Isabel released her first album, Por El Amor, in 2007. She won Univision’s reality show Viva el Sueño in 2009.

Her acting resume includes having the lead role in five episodes of Decisiones Puerto Rico and minor roles in the movies Yellow, El Cantante and Talento de Barrio.

Huertas is set to portray Mike, Jack’s (Ventimiglia) co-worker and best friend.

Chrissy Metz, Justin Hartley, Chris Sullivan, Susan Kelechi Watson and Ron Cephas Jones also star.

Huertas played Detective Javier Esposito on ABC’s long-running hit drama series Castle, a role which earned him an Imagen Award, Alma Award and Prism Award.

Huertas also starred in Generation Kill and The Shield for FX. He can also be seen in the indie film Reparation.

Huertas Set to Return for Season 9 of ABC’s “Castle”

Jon Huertas is still a king of the castle…

The 39-year-old Puerto Rican actor has reportedly closed a deal to continue on ABC’s Castle, which would return for a ninth season.

Jon Huertas

Huertas is set to continue as a regular on the show, according to Deadline.com, joining star Nathan Fillion and co-star Seamus Dever. ABC has yet to make a renewal decision on the series as cast contracts still are being hammered out.

Huertas plays Detective Javier Esposito, a former Army Special Forces soldier who now works in the homicide division alongside Detective Kevin Ryan (Dever).

Fillion, Huertas and Dever have been part of the core ensemble of Castle since the pilot, along with female lead Stana Katic and fellow original cast member Tamala Jones, who were not asked to come back for Season 9.

Also on track to come back are Castle supporting players Molly Quinn and Toks Olagundoye.
