Quintana Teaches Jimmy Fallon Spanish as a Special Thank You

If Jose Quintana decides to leave baseball, he could become a maestro

The Chicago White Sox left-hander appeared on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” teaching the late-night host a few Spanish phrases — some more useful than others — as a thank you for Fallon’s role in Quintana picking up English.

Jimmy Fallon & Jose Quintana

Quintana said he learned English by watching Fallon’s show, and now the 28-year-old Colombian pitcher regularly does interviews in English.

“I arrived in this country and watched your shows,” Quintana told Fallon. “So funny.”

Quintana taught Fallon how to introduce himself in Spanish, to tell people he hosts “The Tonight Show” and to ask others, “Can you pay for my thong?”

Fallon, a Boston Red Sox fan, attended the New York Yankees game against the White Sox on Tuesday night.

White Sox manager Rick Renteria watched “The Tonight Show” clip with his wife and called it “pretty funny.”

“He’s trying to get outside of the box, make sure that people see him as a well-rounded individual,” Renteria said of Quintana. “Hopefully, that’s an example for everyone else to get out there and relax and take advantage of some of the opportunities they’re going to be getting.

“I’ll tell you, he did a nice job with it.”

Robert Trujillo is flaming out…

The 51-year-old bassist and his fellow Metallica band mates debuted the second song off their new studio album Hardwired… To Self-Destruct on national television on Thursday.

Robert Trujillo & Metallica

Metallica guested on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and performed the headbanger “Moth Into Flame.”

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers certainly got a spirited introduction. Leading into the performance, Fallon accurately called them “one of them most influential rock bands in music history” and Vice President Joe Biden — who was also guesting on the show — shouted them out on Twitter: “my house band, Metallica.”

Hardwired… To Self-Destruct will be released on November 18, 2016.

Leto Gives Jimmy Fallon Terrifying Gift from The Joker

The Joker’s on Jared Leto

It appears the 44-year-old part-Spanish actor/singer’s role as The Joker in the highly anticipated Suicide Squad has taken a hold of him.

Jared Leto

While the tales of Leto’s unhinged, bizarre behavior on the Suicide Squad set have become the stuff of legend, the Oscar-winning actor is having a hard time stepping out of the iconic bad boy persona, as evidenced by his trickster appearance on The Tonight Show on Monday night.

“The Joker is a big giver of gifts,” Leto explained to host Jimmy Fallon while seated on the couch and holding a small black box with a big red ribbon on it. “Have you guys heard about this? And he was thinking of you and wanted to pass off this gift especially for you.”

Fallon was suspicious, noting that he’d read and heard about things The Joker has done like gifting rats, so he approached the box with great caution. Spoiler alert: Jimmy did not like his present.

Trailer Released for Thorne’s Latest Film “Boo! A Madea Halloween”

Bella Thorne is Mad(ea) about Halloween

The official trailer has been released for Tyler Perry’s latest Madea installment, Boo! A Madea Halloween, which stars the 18-year-old half-Cuban American actress/singer.

Bella Thorne

What started as a joke in Chris Rock‘s Top Five prompted Perry to launch the latest installment in the Madea franchise (also the original title Rock created as a spoof).

During an appearance on The Tonight Show, Perry told host Jimmy Fallon that Lionsgate called him because they loved the idea.

“Dude, it’s a joke in Chris’ movie!” Perry said. “But then I came up with the concept, and it’s pretty damn funny.”

As per usual with Perry’s movies, he wrote, directed, produced and stars in Boo!

The trailer opens with what appears to be a customary horror film, until Madea steps in and punches a clown. It’s Halloween, and she’s eager to make some money — even if it means keeping her eye on a group of rebellious teens (Thorne, Diamond White) who want nothing more than to hit the party around the corner.

The girls won’t be Madea’s only challenge, though. Throughout the trailer, she encounters ghosts, zombies and killers, among others.

“You see white people?” Joe whispers, prompting screams from the entire room.

Jimmy Tatro and Cassi Davis round out the film’s cast.

Boo! A Madea Halloween hits theatres this October.

Miranda Proves He’s a Freestyle Genuis on the “Tonight Show”

Lin-Manuel Miranda has massive (free)style

The 35-year-old Puerto Rican composer, rapper, lyricist, and actor stopped by the Tonight Show last week to discuss Hamilton, his smash hit Broadway musical that features a diverse cast performing hip-hop about American history.

Lin-Manuel Miranda & Jimmy Fallon

Miranda first outlined the eventful life of Alexander Hamilton, the founding father who was an immigrant, established the country’s treasury and was killed by fellow politician Aaron Burr in a duel.

“The vice president shot him! Dick Cheney was not the first VP to shoot his friend!” he joked to host Jimmy Fallon.

The Hamilton creator and star, who recorded Fallon’s outgoing voicemail message, then discussed the viral phenomenon behind the chart-topping soundtrack, produced by The RootsQuestlove and TariqBlack Thought” Trotter.

Prior to that, “musical theater and pop haven’t been friends for so long, they don’t know each other anymore,” said Miranda, who recently partnered with the Rockefeller Foundation to offer student tickets to the production’s matinees.

Miranda then helped Fallon debut the Tonight ShowFreestyle Generator” for a rap battle opposite Black Thought.

In the first round, he managed to spontaneously mention “rainbow,” “pancake” and “slam dunk” between references to Drake and Michael Jordan. A second round had him effortlessly connecting “dinosaur,” “pumpkin pie” and “Darth Vader.”

Meanwhile, Black Thought waxed poetic about Mars, hot pockets and Channing Tatum.

Hayek Takes “Pup Quiz” with Jimmy Fallon on “The Tonight Show”

Salma Hayek’s all bark and no bite…

During last night’s episode of The Tonight Show, the 48-year-old Mexican actress joined the show’s host Jimmy Fallon for a little puppy love.

Salma Hayek

For a new game segment, Hayek and Fallon were joined onstage by Gary Frick Junior, Mary Kennedy, Kyle McAdams, Lisa Armstrong and Mr. Roger Blake — a gang of rolley polley Golden Retriever pups.

The aim of “Pup Quiz”? To answer the most puppy trivia questions to win the whole irresistible litter.

Salma showed her dog knowledge early by correctly answering that the Basenji breed is known for not barking.

“Oh my god,” Salma cooed as she cuddled with a pup.

Salma won the game in Final Puppardy after each had gained two puppies.

It’s Christina (Aguilera), b$%^&…

The 34-year-old half-Ecuadorian singer, actress and The Voice coach is earning rave reviews for her killer impression of her one-time rival Britney Spears.

Christina Aguilera

On NBC’s Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Monday night, Aguilera wowed the crowd with her singing impression during a round of “Wheel of Musical Impressions.”

If you’ve ever wondered what Spears sounds like singing “This Little Piggy,” well, Jimmy Fallon and co. are here to help you out.

In addition to her spot on impression of Spears, Aguilera also gave impressive takes of Shakira and Cher.

Lopez to Appear on Jimmy Fallon’s “The Tonight Show” from Florida

It looks like Jennifer Lopez is following Fallon to Florida…

Jimmy Fallon bring his The Tonight Show production to the Universal Orlando Resort for the late-night program’s first road trip since Jay Leno stepped down. And, he’s invited the 44-year-old Puerto Rican singer, actress and American Idol judge to join him in the Sunshine State.

Jennifer Lopez

The Tonight Show will broadcast from the Universal Studios backlot from Monday, June 16 through Thursday, June 19, which will coincide with the opening of the resort’s newest attraction, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter-Diagon Alley.

No word on when Lopez will appear during that week, but the BBMA Icon Award will perform.

Along with the “I Luh Ya Papi” singer, Fallon’s guests will include Keenen Ivory Wayans, Kevin Hart, Jimmy Buffet, Tracy Morgan and Pitbull.

Buffet and Pitbull will also perform on the show, as will fun.
