Jesse & Joy to Release Fourth Album “Un Besito Mas” on December 4

Jesse & Joy are ready to kiss and tell about their upcoming album…

The Mexican pop duo, comprised of siblings Jesse Huerta and Joy Huerta, will release their fourth album, Un Besito Más, on December 4 via Warner Music.

Jesse & Joy

For their latest album, Jesse & Joy expanded their production roster to include Fraser T. Smith (AdeleSam Smith), Grammy winner Martin Terefe (who handled production on their previous album, ¿Con Quién Se Queda el Perro?, which won them four Latin Grammy awards),and Dominican legend Juan Luis Guerra, alongside Jesse.

The first single, the hauntingly powerful ballad “Ecos de Amor,” positions Joy as a soulful songstress in her prime. The visuals to the official music video are equally stunning, thanks to Samuel Bayer who directed the single’s video.

It’s been 10 years since the pair’s Esta es mi Vida debut, and, as Jesse will humbly tell you, “we know there’s something we do that connects.”

So Jesse & Joy tried to staying true to their sound while exhibiting growth this time around.

“Coming from an album like ¿Con Quién Se Queda el Perro? the challenge was big. We got to that point because we did things we had never done before and I think this album is one of the most diverse we’ve done in terms of rhythms. It’s a bit riskier, even though the first single “Ecos de Amor” doesn’t necessarily show that riskier side. We chose that as the single because we wanted it to be that bridge between where we came from and where we are. We wrote most of the songs for this album during the ¿Con Quién Se Queda el Perro? tour, in between hotels and studios in different cities that we played in,” said Jesse in an interview with Billboard. “In fact, we wrote ‘Ecos de Amor’ three years ago and we’ve always sort of done it that way. We take our time. Right after a tour we take some time to depressurize and spend time with family. Then we go back and see what we have, what we love, what’s left to do, and then we finish an album.”

Jesse & Joy Among the Headline Acts for This Year’s ‘Amor a Nuestra Música’ Event

Jesse & Joy are ready for a little amor

The Latin Grammy-winning Mexican pop duo, comprised of siblings Jesse Huerta and Joy Huerta, will be among the headliners at Spanish Broadcasting Systems‘ annual Amor a Nuestra Música multi-act show, taking place December 5 at Nassau Coliseum.

Jesse & Joy

Jesse & Joy, big winners at the 2012 Latin Grammys, join a roster that includes Luis Fonsi, Ricardo Montaner, Gloria Trevi, Pablo Alborán and Natalia Jiménez, along with Dominican bachatero Frank Reyes.

The show, which brings together top pop acts every year, is produced by SBS Entertainment — the event promotion arm of SBS — with support from SBS New York radio station 93.1 FM, Amor.

“We’re always looking to present the most innovative shows possible for the Latin community,” said Lucas Piña, SVP of SBS Entertainment. “Amor a Nuestra Música will feature a fantastic stage and cutting edge production. It’s out way of thanking our listeners for their support throughout the year.”

SBS has a long tradition of putting together massive, multi-act shows in major Latin markets in tandem with their local stations, which includes Mega 97.9 FM (La Mega) in New York, the most-listened to Spanish-language station in the country. The station’s annual “Megaton” took place in September, and featured performances by Juanes, Carlos Vives and Juan Luis Guerra, among others.

Amor, SBS’ pop station, is behind the annual “Amor a Nuestra Música” show, which features mostly pop acts and last year had performances by Ricky Martin and Vives, among others. SBS Entertainment also produces the annual Calibash in Los Angeles and El Día Nacional de la Salsa (National Salsa Day) in Puerto Rico, in addition to concert tours by multiple acts.

Tickets to Amor a Nuestra Música are available on Ticketmaster starting at $21, but listeners can also vie for free seats by tuning into Amor or registering at the station’s website.

Becky G to Perform at the First-Ever iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina

Becky G is gearing up for a little iHeart fun…

The 17-year-old Mexican American singer, rapper, actress and CoverGirl model has been added to the roster for the upcoming iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina concert in Los Angeles.

Becky G

Along with Becky G, who was named to this year’s Billboard 21 Under 21 list, the updated roster includes Pitbull, J. Balvin, Jesse & Joy, Daddy Yankee and La Original Banda El Limon.

They join previously announced performers Ricky Martin, Alejandra Guzman and Prince Royce.

The Latin music celebration will take place Nov. 22 at the Forum in Inglewood and will also feature surprise guests.

The iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina is the newest of iHeartMedia‘s concert showcases with events like the iHeartRadio Music Festival.

Fans can buy tickets through Ticketmaster; tickets range from $71.70-$439.90.

Martin Among the Performers at the First-Ever iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina

Ricky Martin is ready for a little iHeart action…

The 42-year-old Puerto Rican singer has been named one of the performers at iHeartMedia’s first-ever Latin mega concert.

Ricky Martin

The iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina will take place at the Forum in Los Angeles on Saturday, November 22, with a high-octane performance from Martin, as well as Daddy Yankee, Roberto Tapia, Alejandra Guzmán, La Original Banda el Limón feat. Voz a Voz and Jesse & Joy.

The event will be co-produced by iHeartMedia and Live Nation.

The iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina will be the newest of iHeartMedia’s multi-act concert events, modeled after the iHeartRadio Music Festival, the iHeartRadio Ultimate Pool Party, the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Concert Tour and the iHeartRadio Country Festival.

But in a twist, the inaugural Latin concert is taking place in the same city and the same date as Calibash, the big radio festival that Latin radio network giant SBS has produced for the past seven years.

As it has for the past several years, Calibash will take place at the Staples Center, also on Nov. 22, and is co-produced by SBS Entertainment together with AEG Live. Calibash is a predominantly urban show, and has sold out at the Staples every year, bringing in between 14,000 and 15,000 people. It’s one of multiple SBS mega concerts around the country, including the recent “Megatón” which took place at Madison Square Garden in New York last month.

IHeartMedia has a history of launching new events to compete with existing events. The iHeartRadio Awards, for example, premiered May 1, less than three weeks ahead of the Billboard Music Awards. But launching the same day as the competition may be a first, particularly for a niche genre like Latin.

“IHeartMedia’s Spanish and English radio stations reach 93 percent of the Hispanic population in the U.S. — more than any other media company — and our listeners have been asking for a show like this for a while,” says Tom Poleman, iHeartMedia’s president of National Programming Platforms, in a statement.

Despite iHeartMedia’s huge reach, the company has only 20 Spanish-language radio stations, none of them in Los Angeles.

Beginning on Oct. 2, iHeartMedia will launch a four-week nationwide promotion to give fans the opportunity to win a trip to the festival. The promotion will run on iHeart’s Spanish language stations and on key iHeartRadio markets. Tickets will go on sale Oct. 11.

The Latin music festival market also features major multi-artist concerts by many Latin radio networks, including Univision Radio, which produces its Uforia Music Festival in Los Angeles in the summer.
