First Trailer Released for Andy Garcia’s “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again”

Universal Pictures has released the first trailer for Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, the sequel to Mamma Mia! The Movie, starring the 61-year-old Cuban actor.

The sequel shifts back and forth in time to show how relationships forged in the past resonate in the present.

Ten years after Mamma Mia! The Movie grossed $610M worldwide, everybody’s back on the Greek island of Kalokairi for an all-new original musical based on the songs of the Swedish pop sensations.

All of the original cast returns including Meryl Streep, Christine Baranski, Julie Walters, Amanda Seyfried, Dominic Cooper, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth and Stellan Skarsgard.

Garcia is new to the island, along with Lily James showing off some pipes as Young Donna, Alexa Davies, Jessica Keenan Wynn, Jeremy Irvine, Josh Dylan and Hugh Skinner.

Cher also turns up in the trailer above as grandmother Ruby Sheridan.

Ol Parker writes and directs the sequel from a story by Catherine Johnson, Richard Curtis and Parker.

The musical comedy will open domestically in the U.S. on July 20, 2018.

Imagina International Sales to Distribute Aragón’s “A Night in Old Mexico” Globally

Emilio Aragón’s latest film could have a global reach…

Imagina International Sales has inked a deal to distribute the 54-year-old Cuba-born Spanish filmmaker’s A Night in Old Mexico in Europe, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East.

Aragón’s English-language road film stars Oscar winner Robert Duvall in the tale of a grandfather and grandson, perfect strangers, who set off on a journey in search of fun and adventure and discover their respective dreams during a frenzied pit stop in Mexico.

Along with Duvall, the film also stars War Horse‘s Jeremy Irvine, Angie Cepeda, Joaquín Cosío and Luis Tosar.

Aragón’s previous credits include Pájaros de papel.

Bonham Carter’s “Great Expectations” to be Released in the US in October

Helena Bonham Carter will have some great expectations for American audiences this October…

The 46-year-old part-Spanish actress’ latest film, Mike Newell’s Great Expectations, will be released by Main Street Films in the United States on October 11, 2013.

Great Expectations, based on the Charles Dickens novel, premiered at the Toronto Film Festival last year and was released in the United Kingdom in November.

Along with Bonham Carter, the film stars Ralph Fiennes, Robbie Coltrane, Jeremy Irvine and Holliday Grainger.

“Every independent film that is made represents a small miracle, and at MSF we want to honor the achievement of the filmmakers in not only getting their film made but my ensuring that it is seen by everyone it was made for,” said, Main Street Films chairman Craig Chang in announcing the dates.
