Jenna Ortega to Serve as Presenter at This Weekend’s SAG Awards Ceremony

Win or lose, Jenna Ortega will take the SAG Awards stage…

The Screen Actors Guild has announced the latest group of presenters for Sunday’s SAG Awards ceremony, with the 20-year-old Puerto Rican and Mexican American actress set to participate.

Ortega is nominated in the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series category for her starring role in Netflix’s acclaimed series Wednesday, which has been renewed for a second season.

In addition to Ortega, the list of recently added presenters includes Jason Bateman, Jeff Bridges, Aubrey Plaza, Adam Scott, Zendaya, SAG-AFTRA president Fran Drescher, Matt Bomer, Ariana DeBose, Eugene Levy and Amy Poehler.

Previously announced presenters for the 29th annual ceremony include Stephanie Hsu, Ke Huy Quan, Michelle Yeoh, Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, Paul Dano, Gabriel LaBelle, Michelle Williams, Jessie Buckley, Claire Foy, Rooney Mara, Jovan Adepo, Diego Calva and Li Jun Li.

The SAG Awards are set for Sunday, February 28, at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles. The ceremony, featuring the winners in the guild’s 15 acting categories, will stream live on Netflix’s YouTube channel.

Tenoch Huerta Earns Two Critics Choice Super Awards Nominations for “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” Performance

Tenoch Huerta is celebrating two super recognitions…

The nominations for the third annual Critics Choice Super Awards have been revealed, with the 42-year-old Mexican actor earning two nods.

Huerta is nominated for Best Actor in a Superhero Movie and Best Villain in a Movie for his performance as Namor in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Zoe Saldana is nominated in the Best Actress in a Science Fiction/Fantasy Movie for her performance in James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way of Water.

Oscar Isaac earned a nod in the Best Actor in a Superhero Series, Limited Series or Made-for-TV Movie category for starring in Disney+’s Moon Knight.

Harvey Guillén is nominated in the Best Actor in a Horror Series, Limited Series or Made-for-TV Movie for his acclaimed work in FX’s What We Do in the Shadows.

Jenna Ortega continues earning raves for her work in Netflix’s Wednesday. This time the Puerto Rican and Mexican American actress is nominated for Best Actress in a Horror Series, Limited Series or Made-for-TV Movie.

Diego Luna is up for Best Actor in a Science Fiction/Fantasy Series, Limited Series or Made-for-TV Movie for his work on Andor.

The Critics Choice Super Awards celebrate the year’s best across the superhero, sci-fi/fantasy, horror and action genres in film and on television.

This year’s winners will be revealed March 16.

Marisol Nichols to Star in the Romantic Drama “Winter Spring Summer or Fall”

Marisol Nichols is your girl for all seasons…

The 49-year-old half-Mexican American actress and Riverdale star has joined the cast of the romantic drama Winter Spring Summer or Fall.

Nichols will star opposite Jenna Ortega, Percy Hynes White and Adam Rodriguez in the project, which will mark the feature directorial debut of screenwriter Tiffany Paulsen.

Billed as Before Sunrise meets The Perks of Being a Wallflower, the film is written by Dan Schoffer, with revisions by Paulsen. It tells the story of teens (Ortega & White) on the cusp of adulthood who meet and fall in love over four significant days of the year.

Nichols will play Ortega’s overbearing attorney mother, who is focused on getting her only daughter into Harvard. Rodriguez is playing Ortega’s father, as previously announced.

Best known for her role as Hermione on The CW’s Riverdale, Nichols has also been seen on Teen Wolf and 24, among many other series.

She recently appeared opposite Eugenio Derbez in the Hulu rom-com The Valet and has also appeared in features including Spiral, Big Momma’s House 2, Bowfinger, Can’t Hardly Wait and Scream 2.

Jenna Ortega to Make Hosting Debut on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” in March

Jenna Ortega is preparing for her late night debut…

The 20-year-old Puerto Rican and Mexican American Golden Globe-nominated actress and Wednesday star will serve as a first-time host of NBC’s late-night, sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live.

Ortega, who will next appear in Scream VI, will host the long-running series on March 11 alongside British indie rockers The 1975.

SNL is produced in association with Broadway Video.

The show’s creator and executive producer is Lorne Michaels.

Jenna Ortega is making an impression with the kids…

Nickelodeon has revealed the nominees for its 2023 Kids’ Choice Awards, with the 20-year-old Puerto Rican and Mexican American actress earning her first nod.

Ortega is nominated in the Favorite Female Star TV (Family) category for her portrayal of Wednesday Addams on Netflix’s acclaimed series Wednesday.

Selena Gomez and Salma Hayek will face off in the Favorite Voice from an Animated Movie (Female).

The 30-year-old Mexican American actress is nominated for her role as Mavis in Hotel Transylvania: Transformania, while the Mexican actress is nominated for her work as Kitty Softpaws in Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.

Cardi B is nominated in the Favorite Female Artist category; Bad Bunny is nominated in the Favorite Male Artist category, and Taboo and his Black Eyed Peas group mates are up for Favorite Music Group.

Taboo and his fellow Black Eyed Peas, nominated with Shakira and David Guetta for “Don’t You Worry,” will face off against Camila Cabello and Ed Sheeran, nominated for “Bam Bam,” in the Favorite Collaboration category.

Bad Bunny (Latin America) and Rosalia (Europe) are up for Favorite Global Music Superstar.

Stephen Sanchez is nominated for Favorite Social Media Star.

The awards show will air live on Saturday, March 4 at 7:00 pm ET/PT from L.A.’s Microsoft Theater.

In the sports categories, Lionel Messi is up for Favorite Male Sports Star.

Musical performances will be announced at a later date.

This year’s show will also feature extreme logic-defying stunts; wild celebrity collaborations and games; magical illusions and tricks; interactive moments within the Nickverse; and epic slimings. Jenna Ortega’s star continues to rise…

Nominations for the 14th annual Dorian Awards, bestowed by GALECA: The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics, have been announced, with the 20-year-old Puerto Rican and Mexican American actress earning a nod.

Ortega, who starred in the films Scream 5, X and American Carnage in 2022 and has earned acclaim for her work on Netflix’s series Wednesday, is nominated for the Rising Star Award.

The Screen Actors Guild has revealed the nominees for this year’s SAG Awards, with the 20-year-old Mexican and Puerto Rican actress – a first-time Golden Globe nominee this year – earning her first nod.

Ana de Armas is also a first-time SAG Awards nominee…

The 34-year-old Cuban and Spanish actress is nominated in the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role category for her starring turn as Marilyn Role in Netflix’s Blonde.

Diego Calva has picked up his first SAG Awards nod.

The 30-year-old Mexican actor, the breakout star of Babylon, and co-stars are nominated in the Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture category.

Nelson Bonilla, Alfonso Herrera, Felix Solis and their Ozark co-stars are nominated in the Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series category.

It’s Solis’ second SAG Awards nomination for Ozark and the first for Bonilla and Herrera.

Aubrey Plaza has picked up her first SAG Awards nod.

The 38-year-old half-Puerto Rican actress and her The White Lotus co-stars are nominated in the Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series category.

Liza Colon-Zayas is celebrating her first SAG Awards nod.

The 51-year-old Puerto Rican actress and her The Bear costars are nominated in the Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series category.

Selena Gomez is a second-time SAG Awards nominee…

For the second year in a row, the 30-year-old Mexican American actress/singer and her Only Murders in the Building costars are nominated in the Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series category.

The SAG Awards will air on Netflix’s YouTube channel this year and then move to the streamer in 2024.

The ceremony will take place Sunday, February 26, at Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles.

Jenna Ortega To Serve as Presenter at This Week’s Golden Globes Awards Show

Jenna Ortega is preparing for an extra golden night…

The 20-year-old Puerto Rican and Mexican American actress will serve as a presenter at this year’s Golden Globes awards ceremony.

Ortega, who is a first-time nominee this year for her starring role in Netflix’s Wednesday, was among the latest list of presenters announced today.

But she isn’t the only Latinx talent to be added to the presenter’s list.

Harvey Guillén, who rose to acclaim in What We Do in The Shadows, and former Golden Globe-nominee Salma Hayek Pinault will also take the stage.

Other newly announced presenters include Jennifer Hudson, Claire Danes, Cole Hauser, Henry Golding, Hilary Swank, Glen Powell, Jay Ellis, Jennifer Coolidge, Letitia Wright, Mo Brings Plenty and Regina Hall.

Also participating on the telecast will be Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy, offering a special message of peace which will be introduced by actor Sean Penn.

They join the previously announced presenters, which include Ana De Armas, Ana Gasteyer, Colman Domingo, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Natasha Lyonne, Niecy Nash-Betts, Quentin Tarantino, Jamie Lee Curtis, Tracy Morgan and Nicole Byer.

The Golden Globes are set to air live coast-to-coast on January. 10 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. PT/8:00-11:00 pm ET on NBC and streaming on Peacock.

Jerrod Carmichael will host the ceremony, which will held at the Globes’ usual home, the Grand Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. Calif.

Eddie Murphy will be the recipient of the 2023 Cecil B. DeMille Award. Ryan Murphy will receive the Carol Burnett Award.

Netflix Renews Jenna Ortega’s Hit Series “Wednesday” for Second Season

Jenna Ortega’s Wednesdays are officially booked for another season…

Netflix has ordered a second season of its hit series Wednesday, starring the 20-year-old Mexican and Puerto Rican actress.

From MGM Television, Wednesday crossed the 1B hours viewed mark – only the third show to do that on Netflix – in less than a month and overtook Dahmer to become the second most-watched U.S. show behind season four of Stranger Things.

Wednesday offers a new take on The Addams Family — the classic cartoon strip that was created by Charles Addams which ultimately became a ’60s sitcom and a ’90s feature film.

Wednesday ranks No. 2 on the most popular (English) TV list with 1.237 billion hours viewed within its first 28 days.

What’s most unique about the series is how one of Netflix’s biggest rivals, Amazon, is responsible for the series after it closed a $8.5B deal to buy MGM.

MGM Television has since been restructured into Amazon Studios under Jen Salke.

Wednesday debuted in November. The coming-of-age comedy is from Smallville creators Al Gough and Miles Millar and directed/executive-produced by Tim Burton.

Adam Rodriguez to Star in “Winter Spring Summer or Fall”

Adam Rodriguez is celebrating the four seasons…

The 47-year-old Puerto Rican and Cuban American actor will star opposite Jenna Ortega in Winter Spring Summer or Fall for MPCA.

Percy Hynes White is also on board for the film, which Ortega will also executive produce.

The romantic drama is being helmed by writer Tiffany Paulsen, marking her feature debut.

The script was written by Dan Schoffer with revisions by Paulsen.

The film is being described as Before Sunrise meets The Perks of Being a Wallflower, the story follows two teens (Ortega and Hynes White) on the cusp of adulthood who meet and fall in love over four significant days of the year. Rodriguez will play Ortega’s father in the film.

Rodriguez currently stars in Criminal Minds: Evolution for Paramount+ reprising the brainy and charismatic brawny fan favorite Luke Alvez.

In addition to starring in iconic shows like the international hit series CSI: Miami and Criminal Minds, Rodriguez  was also an executive producer on multiple projects including HBO’s The Real Magic Mike, a spinoff of Steven Soderberg’s original hit film which he starred opposite Channing Tatum and is also in the upcoming Magic Mike’s Last Dance.

The Motion Picture Corporation of America (MPCA) has a long history of producing successful romantic comedies, most recently the No. 1 Netflix holiday rom-com Falling for Christmas and The Princess Switch trilogy, starring Vanessa Hudgens.

Previously, Rodriguez starred in and executive produced A Christmas Proposal with MPCA for CBS and Paramout+, one of the first Christmas movies on CBS which encompassed an all Latine cast.
