Jencarlos Canela Teams Up with Yotuel & Arturo Sandoval for New Single “Sueño”

Jencarlos Canela is dedicating his latest single to his homeland…

The 34-year-old Cuban singer/actor has joined voices with Yotuel and Arturo Sandoval to sing for the freedom of Cuba. Together they’ve released the new single “Sueño,” via Alkatraks Music Group.

“I know that we’re about to meet again/ And build what we have dreamed of/ Wait for me in the same place/ Wait for me that there is little left to hug each other,” go part of the lyrics in Spanish, which also includes the line “Patria y Vida” from Yotuel’s Latin Grammy-winning song of the same name.

The moving track comes with a music video that combines images of the artists and others clad in white embracing on the beach.

“Dream, that’s my dream/ A dream that is our dream/ A dream of freedom,” the song ends.

The 34-year-old Cuban-American singer, songwriter and actor has released the new single “Antes y Después.”

Canela releases the single, which featured a powerful message, after going on a journey of self discovery.

His new track is an invitation to heal and come back stronger than ever.

Penned by Canela and produced by the Dominican singer-songwriter Maffio, “Antes y Después” is the artist’s most personal song yet.

The poignant track is a must-listen on this long weekend.

Canela’s acting credits include Grand Hotel, Telenovela and The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia.

Jencarlos Canela Teams Up with Pitbull for Dancetastic Single “Cosita Linda”

Jencarlos Canela has a new pretty little thing…

The 32-year-old Cuban American singer/actor has joined voices with Pitbull for the high octane single “Cosita Linda.”

The track, penned by Jencarlos and Cuban newcomer Lenier, tells the story of a man who’s out to conquer the girl of his dreams.

“Everything that’s yours is for me/ I’ll give you whatever you want/ Everything that’s mine is for you/ We’ll do whatever you want,” the catchy chorus says in Spanish.

In true Miami fashion, the song, helmed by producers IAmChino and Mauro and released under Pitbull’s record label Mr. 305 Records, is almost four minutes of pure fiesta, fusing Cuban rumba, sensual reggaeton and romantic flamenco guitar riffs.

A music video directed by David Rousseau features both artists having the time of their lives in the heart of the Miami nightlife and beaches.

In addition to “Cosita Linda,” Pitbull is a three-time nominee at the 2021 Premio Lo Nuestro, and Jencarlos will soon premiere his next movie alongside Kevin Hart.

Jose Feliciano’s “Feliz Navidad” Enters Top 10 on Billboard Hot 100 for First Time in 50 Years

Jose Feliciano is making chart history with his holiday classic…

The 75-year-old Puerto Rican musician, singer and composer’s “Feliz Navidad” moves up from No. 16 to No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart, dated December 19, hitting the top 10 for the first time, 50 years after its original 1970 release. It previously reached No. 12 last holiday season.

The holiday classic sports gains of 6% to 23 million in radio airplay audience, 15% to 18.5 million U.S. streams and 34% to 3,000 sold, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.

Feliciano adds his second Hot 100 top 10, after his debut entry, his cover of The Doors‘ “Light My Fire,” hit No. 3 in August 1968. (The Doors‘ original ruled for three weeks in the summer of 1967.) He has charted 11 total Hot 100 entries, as well as 16 titles, including eight top 10s, on the Hot Latin Songs chart.

The legendary singer, songwriter and guitarist is celebrating the 50th anniversary of “Feliz Navidad” this year. He performed on NBC‘s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and CBS Sunday Morning last week and, among other festivities, has a livestream scheduled for December 20.

Last month, Amazon Music Lat!n revealed a special 50th anniversary reimagining of Feliciano’s iconic holiday classic, featuring 30 artists including CNCO, Jon Secada, Frankie J, Jencarlos Canela, Pablo Montero, Julio Iglesias, Jr., Jason Mraz, Gloria Gaynor, Patricia Manterola and Lin-Manuel Miranda.

José Feliciano’s classic Christmas song is celebrating a major musical milestone…

The 75-year-old Puerto Rican musician, singer and composer’s “Feliz Navidad” turns 50 this year, with no signs of age.

The classic Christmas song is one of the top 10-performing hits in the decade-plus history of Billboard‘s Holiday 100 chart, and one of the most popular Latin songs of all time.

Recorded in 1970, “Feliz Navidad” is a marvel in many ways.

“It just came to me; there’s no rhyme or reason,” he recently told Billboard. “The first lyric came to me, then I put the English lyric into it, not realizing I had made it the only bilingual Christmas song ever in the world. I created a monster.”

Feliciano stopped by The Tonight Show earlier this week to perform his timeless hit.

Jencarlos Canela to Star Opposite Kevin Hart in the Action Comedy “Man From Toronto”

Jencarlos Canela is the Man of the moment…

The 32-year-old Cuban American actor-singer will join the ensemble cast of the Sony Pictures’ action comedy Man From Toronto, starring Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson.

Kaley Cuoco and Melanie Liburd also star.

The film revolves around a case of mistaken identity after the world’s deadliest assassin, known as the “man from Toronto,” and a stranger, played by Hart, run into each other at an Airbnb. Chaos soon ensues as the assassin’s world comes crashing down on Hart.

Patrick Hughes, who directed Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson’s 2017 action-comedy The Hitman’s Bodyguard, is on board to helm.

Robbie Fox and Chris Bremner wrote the script from a story he conceived with Jason Blumenthal.

The film will open in theaters on September 17, 2021.

Canela most recently starred in Netflix’s The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia. His other credits include NBC’s comedy Telenovela, starring Eva Longoria, The Grand Hotel, also starring Longoria, and the live musical The Passion, which aired on FOX.

Jencarlos Canela has landed a Grand new project…

The 30-year-old Cuban Americansinger, songwriter and actor is reuniting with his former Telenovela co-star Eva Longoria on ABC’s Grand Hotel, executive produced by the Mexican American actress/producer.

Canela will recur on the drama series from ABC Studios as El Rey, a popular Miami recording artist who’s sexy, charismatic, energetic, and amusingly cocky. He’s a major player both in the industry and with the women. He is offered a chance to be a staple performer at the hotel.

Written by Brian Tanen and based on the popular Spanish format series Gran Hotel, Grand Hotel is a soapy drama set against the backdrop of a Miami Beach hotel, centering on the family who owns the business, the staff who run it and the explosive secrets they hide under the perfect exterior.

Longoria and Ben Spector executive produce via UnbeliEVAble Entertainment alongside Tanen, as well as Ramon Campos and Teresa Fernandez-Valdes via Bambu Producctiones, showrunner of the original Spanish show.

Canela starred opposite Longoria as Xavier Castillo on Telenovela, which aired for one season on NBC. Canela also starred as Jesus Christ in the Fox musical The Passion.

Grand Hotel is slated for a midseason premiere on ABC.

Martin to Perform at This Year’s Mega Bash Concert

Ricky Martin is ready for a Mega December…

The 44-year-old Puerto Rican singer is among the Latin superstars confirmed to perform at this year’s Mega Bash concert in New Jersey.

Martin joins a lineup that includes Juanes, Enrique Iglesias, Wisin, Jencarlos Canela, Silvestre Dangond and Ozuna.

The show, produced by the Felix Cabrera Concert Series and SBS — home to New York’s top-rated Spanish language station Mega 97.9 and bilingual streaming app La Música — is set to take place on December 2, at the Prudential Center in Newark.

“Our goal has always been to produce events without precedents, and on December 2 we will be reuniting these big figures for the first time ever at the Prudential Center,” said Felix Cabrera in a statement.

“It’s our pleasure to bring the Mega Bash production to New Jersey with the best music and technology for concerts. That way, our loyal Mega 97.9 listeners can enjoy a good quality concert,” added Eric Garcia, SBS’ Radio Revenue Chief & New York General Manager.

Banderas Ready to Head Up Miami Fashion Week

Antonio Banderas is ready to take Miami fashion-forward…

The 55-year-old Spanish actor and budding fashion designer is serving as honorary president of this year’s Miami Fashion Week, as it begins a new chapter June 2 to 5.

During a press conference on Wednesday, Banderas told the audience that he’s convinced the new Miami Fashion Week – MIAFW – can become the signature fashion event in the Americas.

“Miami is very related to fashion, more than it appears,” said Banderas.

On Saturday, June 4, Banderas will host a soiree at the Vizcaya Museum & Gardens in Coral Gables.

The theme of this Miami Fashion Week is resort wear, a style that fits in well with an international city like Miami.

Designers showcasing their creations during the June 2-5 MIAFW include Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, Alvarno, Custo, Andres Sarda, Aguaclara, Yirko, Claudia Bertolero, Ana Maria Guiulfo and Rene Ruiz.

Miami Fashion Week, now in its 18^th year, created an app this year to keep guests up-to-date on the latest. Other new aspects of the week include a partnership with a fashion school in Spain, College Centro Español de Nuevas Profesiones, to teach aspiring fashionistas the business-side of the industry. Miami Fashion Week will also feature short films this year. The Ice Palace Film Studios in Miami will serve as the nucleolus for this year’s extravaganza.

The event will also feature musical performances by Prince Royce and Jencarlos Canela.

Prince Royce to Appear in Hulu’s Teen Drama Series “East Los High”

Prince Royce is heading back to high school…

The 26-year-old Dominican American pop/bachata singer is joining the cast of East Los High, the Hulu series about teens growing up in East Los Angeles.

Royce will appear in East Los High’s fourth season playing the recurring role of Vincent, the coach of the Jefferson Park Dance crew.

Royce, who appears to be making moves in the acting world, is also starring in Fox’s live musical The Passion along with Trisha Yearwood, Tyler Perry and Jencarlos Canela.

As for “East Los High,” the current season is under production and will air on Hulu this summer. It also features Danielle Vega, Gabriel Chavarria, Alicia Sixtos and Vannessa Vasquez.
