Rose Molina will be getting a little extra Vitamin Sea this fall…
Blue Fox Entertainment has acquired She Is The Ocean, the new documentary from Inna Blokhina that follows nine women from across the globe who share a deep and profound love of the ocean, including the Latina ballerina, modern dancer and free driver.
Blue Fox will release the film via traditional and virtual cinemas on October 16.
In addition to Molina, those featured in the doc: teen surfing prodigy Cinta Hansel; pro surfers Coco Ho, Keala Kennelly, Andrea Moller and Jeannie Chesser; German high diver and seven-time European cliff diving champ Anna Bader; shark conservationist and free diver Ocean Ramsey; and the first female chief scientist of the U.S., Sylvia Earle.
Once a darling of the European dance community, Rose walked away from the egotistical fame and hollow confines of live dance performance to become a «Child of the Sea». Combining her commitment, discipline and understanding of the perfect moment she translated her artistic experience from the stage to the deepest depths of human survival. So beautiful and at ease is she at these deadly depths, that she has been nicknamed La Sirena, one of the the mythical siren’s of Homer’s odyssey. Through free-diving, she has found a spiritual life, a meditation and a deep relationship with the primordial mass of our origin. In her airless world she finds a quiet as profound as outer space…and her re-entry is not down, but up…back up into our atmosphere of air, returning with the same sense of discovery and wonder that any astronaut has ever imagined.
Ranging in age from 12 to 83, their stories combine to create a portrait of one woman’s ocean life through all her ages.
“We are proud to work with Inna bringing these amazing and touching stories to audiences around the world,” said Blue Fox’s James Huntsman.
