Mark Consuelos to Star in Spyglass & Paramount Pictures’ “Scream 7”

Life is but a scream for Mark Consuelos.

The 53-year-old half-Mexican Spanish-born actor and talk show host has joined the cast of Spyglass and Paramount Pictures’ Scream 7.

He joins the previously announced legacy cast members Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox as well as Mason Gooding and Jasmin Savoy Brown, alongside newcomers Isabel May, Celeste O’Connor, Asa Germann, Mckenna Grace, Sam Rechner, Anna Camp and Joel McHale.

Franchise creator Kevin Williamson is directing with Guy Busick writing. Project X Entertainment’s James Vanderbilt, William Sherak and Paul Neinstein are producing.

The long-running horror franchise previously generated four feature films including Scream (1996), Scream 2 (1997), Scream 3 (2000) and Scream 4 (2011), directed by the late Wes Craven.

It relaunched with the fifth installment, Scream, in 2022. The latest outing, Scream VI, released theatrically worldwide in March 2023 and holds the franchise record for highest domestic box office gross with more than $108 million and has taken in more than $169 million worldwide.

Collectively, the Scream franchise has earned more than $900 million in worldwide box office receipts.

Consuelos has co-hosted Live with Kelly & Mark alongside wife Kelly Ripa since April 2023. Together the duo won the 2024 Emmy for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host.

Most recently, Conseulos had a recurring role in HBO Max’s political drama series The Girls on the Bus.

The All My Children alum also appeared in Season 2 of Hulu’s comedy Only Murders in the Building in the role of Mabel’s (Selena Gomez) father.

His other TV credits include How I Met Your Father, Riverdale, Broad City, The Night Shift, Queen of the South and Ugly Betty among others.

Tony Revolori to Star in “Scream 6”

The 26-year-old Guatemalan American actor and Samara Weaving have been added to the cast of Scream 6.

Tony Revolori Revolori and Weaving join an ensemble cast that includes Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding and Jenna Ortega, who toplined the fifth film in the franchise, along with Hayden Panettiere, Courteney Cox, Dermot Mulroney, Jack Champion, Liana Liberato, Devyn Nekoda, Josh Segarra and Henry Czerny.

The next installment in the horror franchise from Spyglass Media and Paramount Pictures will pick up with Sam (Barrera), Mindy (Brown), Chad (Gooding) and Tara (Ortega)—four survivors of the most recent batch of Ghostface killings—as they leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter.

Details as to the characters Weaving and Revolori will be playing have not been disclosed.

Radio Silence’s Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, who helmed the last Scream film, return as directors. James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick co-wrote the screenplay.

Revolori is best known for his collaboration with Wes Anderson on films like The Grand BudapestThe French Dispatch and the upcoming Asteroid City, and for his role as Flash Thompson in the most recent trilogy of Spider-Man films.

He stars in the Apple series Servant and will soon be seen in the Disney+ series Willow.

Josh Segarra to Star in Next Installment of “Scream”

Josh Segarra is screaming with excitement.

The 36-year-old Puerto Rican actor and Arrow alum will star in the next installment of Paramount and Spyglass Media’s Scream.

Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding and Jenna Ortega will reprise their roles after making their first appearance in the most recent sequel, with Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett returning to direct.

Hayden Panettiere is returning to reprise her role from a previous installment and Dermot Mulroney is also on board.

The new outing is due to shoot this summer and follows the bloody success of the fifth installment, released in January, which grossed more than $81 million domestically and $140 million worldwide.

Plot details are being kept under wraps outside of it following the four survivors of the Ghostface killings as they leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter.

The film will be released on March 31, 2023.

James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick are penning the script. Vanderbilt will also produce along with his Project X Entertainment partners Paul Neinstein and William Sherak.

Original Scream scribe Kevin Williamson and the third member of Radio Silence, Chad Villella, are executive producing alongside Spyglass’ Gary Barber and Peter Oillataguerre, Ron Lynch, Cathy Konrad and Marianne Maddalena.

There are more screams in Melissa Barrera’s future.

Spyglass Media and Paramount have officially confirmed that the 31-year-old Mexican actress and singer will be returning for the Scream sequel, with directors Radio Silence (Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett) returning and James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick co-writing the screenplay.

Cameras will begin rolling early this summer for a theatrical release around the world on March 31, 2023.

Also starring in the movie were Kyle Gallner, Mikey Madison, Dylan Minnette, Jack Quaid, Marley Shelton, Sonia Ammar with original franchise members Courteney Cox, David Arquette and Neve Campbell.

The film is available now on digital, 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray and is currently streaming on Paramount +.

Danny Chavarriaga to Appear in & Produce the Rom-Com “Things Like This”

Things (like this) are looking up for Danny Chavarriaga.

The Colombian actor/producer will appear in Things Like This, a romantic comedy marking the feature directorial debut of actor Max Talisman.

The film, written by Talisman, tells the story of two guys named Zack who fall in love amidst the chaos of New York City. Fate seems to be pulling them together, if only they both believed in it.

Talisman will also appear in the film.

Buzz Koenig is producing for Opposite Field Pictures, with Chavarriaga and Andrew Burrill.

Chavarriaga, a relative newcomer to Hollywood, previously starred in After Masks.

Peter Gadiot to Appear on Showtime’s Drama Series “Yellowjackets”

The 35-year-old half-Mexican actor has landed a recurring role on Showtime’s drama series Yellowjackets.

Gadiot joins a roster of new cast additions that includes Warren Kole, Keeya King and Alex Wyndham.

Melanie Lynskey, Juliette Lewis, Christina Ricci and Tawny Cypress star in the drama series from writers Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, Entertainment One and studio-based producer Drew Comins.

Production has begun in Vancouver, Canada for a 2021 debut on the network.

Equal parts survival epic, psychological horror story and coming-of-age drama, Yellowjackets is the saga of a team of wildly talented high school girls soccer players who become the (un)lucky survivors of a plane crash deep in the remote northern wilderness. The series chronicles their descent from a complicated but thriving team to savage clans, while also tracking the lives they’ve attempted to piece back together nearly 25 years later, proving that the past is never really past and what began out in the wilderness is far from over.

Gadiot will portray Adam, a magnetic and curious stranger who, drawn to something inexplicable in one of our adult Yellowjackets, will befriend and provoke her at a tumultuous time in her life.

Ella Purnell, Sammi Hanratty, Sophie Thatcher, Sophie Nélisse, Steven Krueger and Jasmin Savoy Brown also star in Yellowjackets, described tonally as Big Little Lies meets Lord of the Flies.

Karyn Kusama, who directed the pilot, executive produces. eOne is the studio.

Gadiot can be seen in the lead role of James Valdez in Queen of the South, which is wrapping up its fifth and final season.

His other credits include Supergirl, Tut, Matador, Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, Fresh Meat, Hot Mess and The Forbidden Girl.
