Vanessa Rubio is talking content in a global pandemic…

The 37-year-old Colombian-American actress, writer and director is among the talents set for the documentary Content Is King, about how actors have adjusted their outputs during the pandemic.

Rubio, known for The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings, Cobra Kai, How To Be Single and The Hudson Tribes, joins a roster of talking heads that includes Taryn Manning, Austin Pendleton, Alexander James Rodriguez, Jeremy Luke and Anthony and James Gaudioso.

Actor-director Jaime Zevallos (Cloak & Dagger) is in production on the film, which will look at how actors are increasingly becoming multi-hyphenates and turning to social media platforms to create their own narratives.

Freddy Giorlando (Adulthood), Paul Tully (11:55) and Leila Almas Rose (Blue Bloods) join Zevallos on the producing team alongside Sony Television development executive Jason Kyle. Executive producer is Rob Simmons (Last Call).

Jaime Zevallos is having sweet dreams…

The Peruvian actor and writer has been cast alongside Zachary Laoutides and Alexander James Rodriguez in Where Sweet Dreams Die, the Ave Fenix Pictures Studios dramatic thriller being directed by Mirza Esho.

The filn follows an Italian American man on the verge of losing his restaurant and wife to cancer. He becomes obsessed with a Middle Eastern immigrant looking to take over the restaurant on the path to achieve the American Dream.

Marius Iliescu and Emmanuel Isaac co-star in the movie, the latest from the Monica Esmeralda Leon-founded Ave Fenix.

Production is now set to get underway in November in Chicago and New York with COVID-19 protocols in place.

Zevallos was recently cast in the home invasion thriller An Intrusion, and he was booked for the LGBTQ-drama A Boy Like That.

Jaime Zevallos continues to break into Hollywood…

The Peruvian-American actor/writer has been cast in An Intrusion, the home invasion thriller that’s currently shooting in Michigan.

Billy Boyd, Sam Logan Khaleghi, Keir Gilchrist and Scout Taylor-Compton are also cast in the film, which follows an upper class suburban family who find themselves the victims of repeated cases of vandalism and stalkings.

Nicholas David Holland is directing and producing through Michigan-based Diamond Dead Media alongside Logan Khaleghi under his SLK Media Group banner. The team have COVID-19 safety protocols in place, including medical staff available on set.

“I’m excited and elated to work alongside such a powerful team of actors,” said Logan Khaleghi. “Nick has written an intriguing, thrilling script that will make for an amazing film with such a wonderful cast collaborating together.”

Zevallos’ previous credits include Cloak & Dagger, Animal Kingdom and The Bridge.
