Cardi B wants you to SeeHer and Hear Her in a special way…
The 28-year-old half-Dominican Grammy-winning rap superstar will take part in iHeartMedia and SeeHer’s “iHeartRadio Presents SeeHer Hear Her: Celebrating Women in Music” event, which will be broadcast on March 8, International Women’s Day.
Cardi B joins a lineup that includes Gwen Stefani and Kelsea Ballerini.
iHeartMedia, the largest radio station group in the country, and SeeHer, the largest global movement to eliminate gender bias in marketing, advertising, media and entertainment, announced the one-hour event. The event is aimed at celebrating gender equality while placing three female champions of hip-hop, pop and country music center stage for special interviews.
The conversations with Cardi B, Stefani and Ballerini will dig into their girlhood dreams, mentors in the music industry, universal challenges and plans to use their platform to elevate the women around them. The event will also feature footage and additional interviews from other top female acts.
“iHeartMedia is excited to partner with SeeHer and their SeeHer Hear Her initiative to inspire us all with the stories of amazing women breaking new ground in hip-hop, pop and country music,” Gayle Troberman, executive vice president and chief marketing officer of iHeartMedia, said in a statement. “This International Women’s Day it’s important that we are all reminded of what equality can sound like, as we come together to celebrate, inspire and support one another.”
Starting March 1, the first day of Women’s History Month, iHeartMedia will launch an eight-day countdown to International Women’s Day across its 600 broadcast stations, social media platforms and major podcasts. Then when the countdown winds down March 8, women will take over the mic on iHeartMedia’s popular radio shows and podcasts and tap into conversations about equality, inclusion and inspiration. Broadcast stations will devote the hour between 5 and 6 p.m. local time to playing the biggest and freshest hits from today’s top female artists, with special playlists available on the iHeartRadio App.
“iHeartRadio Presents SeeHer Hear Her: Celebrating Women in Music” will stream on iHeartRadio’s YouTube and Facebook pages next Monday, March 8, at 8:00 pm ET. It will be available to watch on demand through March 14.
Listeners can join in on the conversation by using #iHeartWomensDay and #SeeHer throughout International Women’s Day and during the one-hour special. For more information, visit iheartradio.com/womensday.
