The 32-year-old Mexican American actress, singer and philanthropist’s beauty brand Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez is among the winners of the fourth annual Anthem Awards.
The awards, presented by the Webby Awards, recognize the purpose and mission-driven work of individuals, companies and organizations.
Other winners include Jelly Roll with Power to the Patients and Becky G with NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts’ “El Tiny” Takeover.
Other Gold Anthem Award winners include Google; George Lucas Educational Foundation; Gayle King with The Schoolys; Keke Palmer with Google’s ‘Black-owned Friday’; The Metropolitan Museum of Art; Amazon Music; GLAAD; and the Clinton Global Initiative.
“This year’s Anthem Awards Winners are a crucial reminder of the many inspiring and courageous leaders around us committed to creating change,” Patricia McLoughlin, Anthem Awards general manager, said in a statement.
The Anthem Awards also honor individuals with special achievement awards for their commitment to spurring long-lasting change. This year’s Special Achievement
Winners include Teun van de Keuken, for his work to promote ethical consumption and business practices through the chocolate brand Tony’s Chocolonely; Padma Lakshmi, for her work to promote social justice, empower women, and create a broader understanding and appreciation of different cultures through food; and Christy Turlington Burns, in recognition of her commitment to improving maternal health outcomes and advocating for mothers everywhere.
This year’s Anthem Award Winners were selected from more than 2,300 submissions from 34 countries by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences (IADAS). Anthem Award judges are leaders from across the impact industry with expertise that spans the Anthem cause areas – diversity, equity, & inclusion; education, art, & culture; health; human & civil rights; humanitarian action & services; responsible technology; and sustainability, environment, and climate.
The Anthem Awards were launched in 2021 to highlight social impact work happening around the globe. The awards were founded by The Webby Awards in partnership with the Ad Council, Born This Way Foundation, Feeding America, GLAAD, Mozilla, NAACP, NRDC, WWF, and XQ.

Christina Aguilera is celebrating a beautiful win…
The International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences (IADAS) has revealed the winners of the 27th Annual Webby Awards, with the 42-year-old half-Ecuadorian among the honorees.
Aguilera won the Webby Award for Music Video, General Video (Video) category for the new music video for her hit single “Beautiful.” “Beautiful (2022 Version)” was released to celebrate the 20-year-old anniversary of her Stripped album.
It’s Aguilera’s first-ever Webby Awards win.
Other winners include SZA as Artist of the Year, Tracee Ellis Ross with a Special Achievement Award and Sharon Horgan as Best Actress.
Barack Obama, Lizzo, Doja Cat, Blackpink, Hugh Jackman, Jimmy Kimmel, Hoda Kotb, Trixie Mattel, Serena Williams, the cast of Stranger Thingsand the cast of Black Panther: Wakanda Foreverwere also among the award recipients.
“This year’s Webby Winners speak to the incredible potential of the Internet and the people who shape it,” Claire Graves, president of The Webby Awards, said in a statement. “They have set the benchmark for excellence in their respective category and are an inspiration for us all to continue striving towards a more connected and creative digital world.”
Roy Wood Jr. will host the Webby Awards ceremony set to take place on Monday, May 15 at the Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.
Special Achievement Winners
Webby Lifetime Achievement Award: Shigetaka Kurita, the creator of the emoji, for his significant contribution to the worldwide cultural zeitgeist and impact on the way we communicate.
Webby Breakout of The Year Award: ChatGPT, the game-changing, generative AI writing tool that created a digital phenomenon that’s changing the way we work and create.
Webby Artist of The Year: SZA for the instant classic SOS, the true intention and consideration she injects into her work, and for her ingenious use of the Internet to share unique, brilliantly honest art.
Webby Special Achievement Award: Tracee Ellis Ross for her ingenious use of the Internet to share multidimensional stories of belonging, increase Black representation in the beauty industry, and serve as a constant, positive force.
Webby Podcast of The Year: SmartLess, honoring Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett for bringing nostalgia and laughter to listeners on their podcast SmartLess.
Webby Best Actress: Sharon Horgan for capturing the Internet’s attention with her acclaimed Apple TV+ show Bad Sisters, which she created, executive produced and stars in, as well as for her incredible career in comedy as a voice of radical self-awareness and razor-sharp wit.
Webby Special Achievement Award: Tobe Nwigwe for his innovative use of the Internet to create art that is imaginative and poignant as seen in his album moMINTS and his role as ‘Nick’ in the Netflix series Mo.
Webby Special Achievement Award: Under the Desk News for making the news accessible and understandable to young people through their candid, hard-hitting and synoptic reporting, all done in bite-sized pieces on Tik Tok.

The 24-year-old half-Mexican and part-Spanish American singer and her fellow Pentatonix group mates have earned a Webby Award nomination from the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences for their collaboration with Dolly Parton on a cover of the country singer’s classic “Jolene.”
Pentatonix and Parton, who won a Grammy for their effort, are nominated in the Viral: Film & Video category for “Jolene,” which has logged nearly 24 million views on YouTube.
Residente has picked up two Webby Award nominations. The 39-year-old Puerto Rican rapper and former Calle 13 member nominated in the Websites:Celebrity/Fan category and the Websites: Music category.
Selena Gomez’s Revival Tourhas earned a nod in the Social: Celebrity/Fan category, while Jessica Alba’s The Honest Company earned a nomination in the Social: Corporate Communications category.
The Webby Awards are a celebration of the year’s best websites, interactive advertising, and online film and video.
Winners of the 21st annual Webbys, which will be announced on April 25, will be decided by a panel of IADAS members.
The public can also vote online for one award, the People’s Voice award, from Tuesday, April 4, through Thursday, April 20.
The Webby Awards will be celebrated at Cipriani Wall Street on Monday, May 15. The show will be available to watch online May 16.

Nominations for the 20th annual Webby Awards have been announced, with the 31-year-old half-Puerto Rican New York Knicks star making the list of nominees.
Anthony earned a nod in the Best Web Personality/Host (Online Film & Video) for his online video series, “Stay Melo” (also known as #StayMe7o).
Anthony’s competing in that category against YouTube star Tyler Oakley, “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” host Jerry Seinfeld, “Kid President” Robby Novak and “The Slow Mo Guys,” who create science-themed videos in slow motion.
But Anthony isn’t the only Latino athlete to earn a nomination…
Neymar Jr. is nominated in the Virtual Reality: Gaming, Interactive or Real-Time (Online Film & Video) category.
The 24-year-old Brazilian soccer star, who plays for FC Barcelona, is nominated for The Neymar Jr. Effect. It’s a mobile game that allows you to move your phone around to take the pitch as Brazil’s #10.
The International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences (IADAS) is celebrating the 20th annual Webby Awards this year, recognizing noteworthy trends and advancements on the web.
IADAS members will select the winners, which will be announced April 26 and presented at May 16 at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.
