Cardi B has earned a spot in RIAA’s history books…
The 29-year-old half-Dominican American Grammy-winning rap superstar’s debut album, 2018’s Invasion of Privacy, has officially made Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) history once again.
All 13 songs on the album are now certified platinum or higher by the RIAA, making Cardi B the first female to achieve the feat.
The accomplishment further extends her initial record as the first female artist to have every track on an album RIAA certified Gold.
Her major-label debut LP with Atlantic Records is the gift that keeps on giving for Cardi, earning her a Billboard 200 No. 1, a 2019 Grammy for best rap album, a diamond-certified single “Bodak Yellow” and two Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 singles (“Bodak Yellow” and “I Like It” with Bad Bunny and J Balvin), among other milestones for the rapper.
Cardi charted 13 songs (12 from the album, minus “Bodak Yellow” after its three-week stint at the top) on the Hot 100, allowing her to pass Beyoncé for the most simultaneous titles on the ranking by a solo female.
In April 2021, Cardi B celebrated the three-year anniversary of Invasion of Privacy with a sweet message on Twitter.
“Thank you everyone that’s been showing IOP love today .It feels like a birthday lols,” she tweeted. “I get real sweet and bittersweet memories when I listen to the album, I faced many challenges thru the process and after but the outcome was beautiful and successful. Love you forever.”
The 29-year-old half-Dominican American rap superstar, who raps “I like diamonds, I like stunting, I like shining” on her smash hit single “I Like It,” has been, appropriately, diamond-certified by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
The Latin-trap summer banger, which features J Balvin and Bad Bunny, has moved 10 million units.
According to the RIAA, one equivalent song unit is equal to a single digital song sale, or 150 on-demand audio and/or video streams.
Cardi B became the first female rapper to have a diamond-certified song earlier this year with her major-label debut single “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves).”
“I Like It” is now Cardi’s third diamond-certified smash, following “Bodak Yellow” and “Girls Like You” by Maroon 5, which hit the record on November 29, according to the RIAA’s website.
“OMMMMMMGGGGGGG @sanbenito @JBALVIN !!!!!!!!!” Cardi B tweeted in celebration Monday (Dec. 13) when the song officially earned diamond certification.
Show organizers have announced that the 27-year-old Puerto Rican reggaeton superstar will perform on the awards show.
Bad Bunny joins a roster of performers that includes BTS and Megan Thee Stallion, and Olivia Rodrigo.
Bad Bunny, a two-time AMA winner, will undoubtedly get the place bouncing with the world premiere television performance of “Lo Siento BB:/.”
Nominated for five awards this year, the rapper and singer last graced the AMAs stage in 2018 alongside J Balvin and 2021 AMAs host Cardi B for a performance of “I Like It.”
The show will air globally across a footprint of linear and digital platforms in more than 120 countries and territories. MRC Live & Alternative and Jesse Collins Entertainment are producing.

All the rumors are true… Cardi B has another chart-topper on her hands.
The 28-year-old half-Dominican American rap superstar’s collaboration with Lizzo, “Rumors,”has debuted at No. 1 on Billboard‘s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart dated August 28.
The track also begins as the genre’s top-selling tune of the week.
With the leading entrance, Lizzo posts her third No. 1 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. “Rumors” follows “Truth Hurts,” which reigned for 11 nonconsecutive weeks in 2019 before it surrendered to her own “Good as Hell,” a four-week nonconsecutive champ.
Cardi B, meanwhile, obtains a lucky seventh leader thanks to the No. 1 debut.
Here’s a look at her collection:
“Bodak Yellow (Money Moves),” six weeks at No. 1, beginning Sept. 16, 2017
“Finesse,” with Bruno Mars, one, Jan. 20, 2018
“I Like It,” with Bad Bunny & J Balvin, July 7, 2018
“Please Me,” with Bruno Mars, one, March 16, 2019
“WAP,” feat. Megan Thee Stallion, 10, Aug. 22, 2020
“Up,” four, Feb. 20, 2021
“Rumors,” with Lizzo, one (to date), Aug. 28, 2021
In addition to Cardi B claiming her own seventh champ, the team of Lizzo and Cardi B marks only the ninth instance of women solo acts combining forces for a No. 1 since Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs became an all-encompassing genre tally in 1958; notably, almost half have reigned since May 2020.
The full list of such leaders:
Brandy & Monica, “The Boy Is Mine,” 13 weeks at No. 1 in 1998
Whitney Houston feat. Faith Evans & Kelly Price, “Heartbreak Hotel,” seven, 1999
Keyshia Cole feat. Missy Elliott & Lil Kim, “Let It Go,” three, 2007
Iggy Azalea feat. Charli XCX, “Fancy,” 13, 2014
Iggy Azalea feat. Rita Ora, “Black Widow,” five, 2014
Doja Cat feat. Nicki Minaj, “Say So,” two, 2020
Megan Thee Stallion feat. Beyoncé, “Savage,” two, 2020
Cardi B feat. Megan Thee Stallion, “WAP,” 10, 2020
Lizzo & Cardi B, “Rumors,” one (to-date), 2021
Thanks to “WAP” and “Rumors,” Cardi B is the third person to appear on the above list twice, after Iggy Azalea and Megan Thee Stallion.
Elsewhere, “Rumors” races to a No. 1 debut on the Hot Rap Songschart and a No. 4 launch on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100.
“Rumors,” released August 13, starts strong in both the sales and streaming realms. On the former, the collaboration kicks off at No. 1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales chart through 17,900 downloads in the week ending Aug. 19, according to MRC Data. (Including physical products, the song sold 25,200 copies overall in its first frame.) In the streaming sector, “Rumors” debuts in the runner-up slot on R&B/Hip-Hop Streaming Songs thanks to 20.9 million U.S. streams in the same period.
Initial radio airplay numbers for “Rumors” are highly encouraging, with action in multiple formats. The mainstream pop radio format leads the reception, with “Rumors” advancing 26-19 on the Pop Airplay chart after its first full week of tracking, which ended Aug. 22. The tune also closes in on the top 20 on Rhythmic Airplay, where it surges 32-21, again, after its first full week of availability to radio programmers. And while the aforementioned formats are its current biggest advocates, the single also registers on the Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplaychart at No. 34, retaining its position from the prior week.
From its performance across all formats, “Rumors” debuts at No. 21 on the all-genre Radio Songs chart. The entrance secures both Lizzo and Cardi B the highest starts of each’s career, surpassing the No. 40 bow of “Good as Hell” and the No. 33 arrival of “Please Me,” respectively.
Cardi B is celebrating her latest pregnancy in the limelight…
The 28-year-old half-Dominican American rap superstar revealed her pregnancy at the 2021 BET Awards while performing with her husband Offset and Migos.
After the trio finished “Straightenin,” Cardi joined the group for “Type S—.” Appearing on stage in an embroidered Dolce & Gabbana bodysuit, a sheer panel in the abdomen exposed Cardi’s burgeoning belly. The ensemble included matching leggings and shoes.
Later, Cardi B shared two touching images of the couple as well as a mother-daughter moment between her and her nearly 3-year-old daughter Kulture.
“We listened to each other, communicated, prayed and then God blessed us and our family with another little blessing,” she wrote under a picture of Offset caressing her baby bump from behind in the couple shot. “Our home feels so blissful and very busy but we are ready and so happy!! Thank you soo much everyone for the congrats and well wishes.”
For her shoot with Kulture, Cardi pointed her fans to notice the Afro-Caribbean roots in their gowns and headdresses with gold jewelry, which also inspired her outfits in the music video for her 2018 banger “I Like It” with Bad Bunny and J Balvin.
“I just know these two will love each other soo much and argue soo much since they’re 3 years apart…just like me and Henny,” she wrote under the photo of Kulture looking up at her mother while placing her tiny hand on Cardi’s bump. “But one thing for sure is they’ll have each other’s back like no one else ever will.”
And Cardi’s sister Hennessy Carolina, who’s three years younger than the Grammy-winning artist, can attest to that statement. “Being 3 years apart is the best! lol,” she commented on Instagramwith a slew of heart eyes and heart emojis.
Spotify has launched its “Billions Club” playlist to highlight the music of the members of its Billion Streams Club, including two of the 36-year-old Colombian singer/songwriter’s most iconic singles.
According to Spotify, the new playlist — which currently features more than 150 songs — highlights the megahits that have surpassed the one billion streams mark. Included on the new playlist are J Balvin’s “Mi Gente” with Willy William and his collaboration with Cardi B and Bad Bunny, “I Like It.”
In all Cardi B has three singles on the playlist. Along with “I Like It,” the other singles are “Girls Like You” with Maroon 5, and “Taki Taki,” her collaboration with Selena Gomez, Ozuna and DJ Snake.
Selena Gomez has three singles. Along with “Taki Taki,” her other singles on the playlist include “We Don’t Talk Anymore” with Charlie Puth, and “It Ain’t Me” with Kygo.

Other Latin artists appearing on the playlist include Karol G, Danny Ocean, Fifth Harmony, Camila Cabello and Luis Fonsi.
“Spotify has long celebrated artist milestones and we wanted to find a unique way to honor the artists and songs fans can’t stop listening to,” Ashley Graver, Global Head of Creative Artist Partnerships, tells Billboard. “The Billions Club playlist is a natural evolution of the plaques you have seen from multiple artists, and we are excited to give fans a one-stop destination to enjoy some of the most streamed songs in the world.”
Also in celebration of the newly rounded up collection of songs, Spotify created a video sharing how various artists have reveled when learning of the milestone and receiving their One Billion Streams plaque from the streamer.
Prior to the launch of the “Billions Club” playlist, some artists have marked hitting the billion streams achievement by doing more than just showing off their shiny new plaques on social media. Several have literally eaten off the platter-shaped badge of honor: Halsey dug into some Cheetos and candy, Joe Jonas dined on some McDonald’s, and Quavo ate some scrambled eggs and waffles with plenty of syrup, for example. (See Billboard’s gallery.)
Spotify has been busy this year launching new features beyond the just announced “Billions Club” playlist.
In April, the streaming service started adding some livestream events to artist pages, and in late May, partnered with Driift for tickets to a virtual concert series.

In addition to topping the Billboard 200, Bad Bunny has also reached No. 1 on Billboard’s other flagship, all-genre chart, the Billboard Hot 100. He won his first Grammy on March 14, when his album YHLQMDLGwon for best Latin pop or urban album.
Bad Bunny holds the record for the most top 40 hits on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart with 104. He also holds the record for the most hits total on that chart: 111.
But Bad Bunny won’t be the only Latin artist to perform…
Karol G will take the stage for a special medley of her hits “Bichota” and “El Makinon.”

Bad Bunny is bringing his latest hit to the American Music Awards…
The 26-year-old Puerto Rican Latin trap and reggaeton singer has been added to the performers list for the annual awards show, which will take place on November 22.
Bad Bunny will offer the world premiere performance of his insta-smash hit single, “Dakiti,”alongside Jhay Cortez. The single recently debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart.
He performed “I Like It,” his chart-topping collaboration with Cardi Band J Balvin, on the AMAs two years ago.
Bad Bunny joins a lineup of recently added performers that includes Shawn Mendes, Megan Thee Stallion and Lil Baby. The stars join the previously announced BTSand Dua Lipa.
It’s fitting that the AMAs are highlighting performances by Latin and rap/hip-hop stars. The AMAs this year are increasing their number of Latin categories from one to four and the number of rap/hip-hop categories from three to four.
The AMAs, which debuted in 1974, bills itself as the world’s largest fan-voted awards show. Taraji P. Hensonis set to host this year’s show, which will broadcast live from The Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles for the 14th consecutive year.
The show is set to air on Sunday November 22 at 8:00 pm ET/PT on ABC. It will reportedly be seen in more than 200 countries and territories around the world.
The 26-year-old Puerto Rican Latin trap and reggaeton singer’s latest single, “Dakiti,” featuring Jhay Cortez debuts at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100, on the chart dated November 14.
Bad Bunny and Cortez’s charge onto the Hot 100 is due to 22.2 million streams, 3.2 million in airplay audience and 5,000 sold in the tracking week for “Dakiti.”
As it concurrently starts at No. 1 on the multi-metric Hot Latin Songs chart, it’s the first title ever to have entered the Hot 100 in the top 10 and launched atop Hot Latin Songs simultaneously.
“Dakiti” is Bad Bunny’s third Hot 100 top 10, all of which have debuted in the tier. It follows his Cardi B and J Balvin team-up “I Like It,” which began at No. 8 and spent a week at No. 1, and “MIA,” featuring Drake (No. 5 debut and peak), both in 2018.
“MIA” and now “Dakiti” are the only all-Spanish-language songs ever to have debuted in the Hot 100’s top 10.
Cortez, meanwhile, earns his first Hot 100 top 10.
