Cinthya Carmona to Star in New Netflix Comedy Series

Cinthya Carmona is ready to spread a little peace on earth…

The 30-year-old Venezuelan actress has been added to the lead cast in Netflix’s still-untitled multi-camera comedy series from Jack Dolgen, Doug Mand and Kourtney Kang.

Cinthya Carmona

Carmona will star opposite Olivia Macklin and Michael Hsu Rosen. They will star opposite Emily Osment and Gregg Sulkin in the project, which was created and written by Dolgen and Mand and directed by Pamela Fryman.

The Untitled Dolgen/Mand/Kang Project centers on a snooty, self-proclaimed intellectual (Osment) forced to move in with her carefree sister and her sister’s lovably eccentric friends, played by Sulkin, Hsu, Rosen and Carmona.

Macklin will play Claire, scatterbrained optimist and the world’s worst waitress (although the customers love her). She lives a carefree life, surrounded by her best friends. Claire is excited at the prospect of finally bonding with her older sister, Chelsea. Like, really really really really excited!

Rosen will portray Jayden, a former child-model who now makes his living as a social media influencer. He’s confident, generous and the hottest gay man alive according to an online poll which he created and votes on daily.

Carmona plays Solana, a former lawyer turned unqualified health guru. She brings her lawyerly intensity to everything, especially crystals and meditation. She wants nothing more than to bring peace and healing to everyone she meets. That said, she hasn’t slept a wink in years.

Osment will play Chelsea, and Sulkin plays Grant, the romantic, genuinely sweet, and an often shirtless personal trainer.

Carmona recently starred as the female lead in David Ayer’s The Tax Collector. Her other credits include Fox’s Deputy, Hulu’s East Los High and Netflix’s Greenhouse Academy.

Cierra Ramirez

Directed by Vanessa Parise, the film follows Pearl, portrayed by Ramirez, a typical 16-year-old vampire — fond of blood, allergic to the sun, and generally pretty evil. After a mysterious attack leaves her able to survive in the daylight, Pearl’s powerful family quickly takes advantage of this new ability, sending her to high school to gather fresh young blood for an upcoming feast in honor of the Vampire King. The only problem is that Pearl is starting to grow a conscience. How can she serve up her new friends to be slaughtered? Then again, she’s definitely dead if she lets her family down.

Gregg Sulkin, Zach Peladeau, McKaley Miller, Angelique Rivera, Sarah Desjardins and Jasmine Sky Sarin will co-star.

The pic was adapted by Eirene Donohue, with Sheri Singer of Just Singer Entertainment serving as executive producer along with Bella Thorne.

It’s a battle of good vs. evil when Selena Gomez returns to Waverly Place

The Disney Channel has released the official trailer for the Wizards of Waverly Place movie special featuring the 20-year-old half-Mexican American actress/singer battling herself.

Selena Gomez

Gomez returns as Alex Russo in the highly anticipated television event, “The Wizards Return: Alex vs. Alex” — a movie based on the Disney Channel’s popular series — and she’s facing her “biggest battle yet,” the trailer teases: Herself.

The Alex vs. Alex trailer informs fans that since winning the family wizard competition, Alex has struggled to use magic for good, so she decides to use magic to remove “just the parts that nobody likes” from herself.

Despite her father’s warning that “magic is not for getting what you want or using it for selfish reasons,” Alex accidentally conjures up two versions of herself: Good Alex and Evil Alex.

Alex vs. Alex sees Alex’s younger brother Max (Jake T. Austin), mom Theresa (Maria Canals-Barrera), dad Jerry (David DeLuise), best friend Harper (Jennifer Stone) and boyfriend-cum-werewolf Mason (Gregg Sulkin) travel to Tuscany to meet the Russo’s long-lost relatives. Though David Henrie will not be back as Alex’s older brother Justin for Alex vs. Alex, Beau Mirchoff of MTV’s Awkward fame joins the cast as an evil sorcerer.

The Wizards Return: Alex vs. Alex will premier on the Disney Channel  on Friday, March 15 at 8 p.m. EST.
