It’s a royal opportunity for Aimee Carrero

Disney Junior has announced plans to launch an animated spinoff from Sofia The First, with the 26-year-old Dominican actress voicing the lead character.

Entitled Elena of Avalor, it centers on Princess Elena of Avalor, a confident and compassionate teenager in an enchanted fairytale kingdom inspired by diverse Latin cultures and folklore.

Laura Ortiz will have plenty to FEAR(net) this summer…

FEARnet has scheduled the second season premiere of its first original scripted entry, Holliston, which stars the 25-year-old Colombian actress.

Laura Ortiz

The horror-comedy series, which was renewed last April, will return for its expanded sophomore season in June, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Season two will feature 10 episodes — up four from its freshman run.

Holliston demonstrates not only the breadth of FEARnet’s programming, but also the broad reach of the horror culture. We surprised people by opting for a sitcom. Genre guest stars slated to join the series include Bill Moseley (Texas Chainsaw), Kane Hodder (Hatchet III), Sid Haig (The Lords of Salem), David Naughton (An American Werewolf in London), Danielle Harris (Halloween IV and V), Bailee Madison (Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark) and James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy).
