HBO Max Developing Claudia Forestieri’s “The Gordita Chronicles”

HBO Max has put in development The Gordita Chroniclesa coming-of-age kids and family comedy from the half-Dominican writer, Josh Berman’s Osprey ProductionsZoe Saldana’s Cinestar Pictures and Sony Pictures Television, where Osprey is under a deal.

Written by Forestieri, The Gordita Chronicles, loosely inspired by Forestieri’s life, centers around a Latina reporter looking back on her childhood as a chubby, willful and reluctant Dominican immigrant growing up with her eccentric family in 1980s Miami.

Berman and Chris Kingexecutive produce for Osprey Productions. Zoe Saldana, Mariel Saldanaand Cisely Saldanaexecutive produce for Cinestar Pictures. Forestieri is co-executive producer. Sony Pictures Television is the studio.

Forestieri was a producer for Telemundo’s L.A. affiliate where she earned five local Emmys and a GLAAD Media award for her work covering the Latino community. She is an alumnus of HBO’s Access Writing FellowshipNALIP’s Latino Writers Lab and NBC’s Writers on the Vergeprogram. Forestieri is a writer on the upcoming Selena: The Seriesfor Netflix and previously wrote on Freeform’s Good Trouble.

Saldana is next set to star and executive produce From Scratch, a limited series from Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshinefor Netflix.

The Latina actress has joined The Fosters spinoff Good Trouble in a recurring role.

The Freeformseries follows residents of The Coterie as they deal with the consequences of their personal and professional decisions and realize that sometimes standing up for what you believe in comes at a price. 

The current season picked up with Callie and Mariana’s relationship on the rocks after Callie has decided to move in with Jamie and leave the “Coterie Biatches” behind.

Quintana will play Isabella, a sexy, charming, outgoing aspiring actress/model who seems very confident but is really desperate to be liked. With her friendly personality and good looks, she is sure to shake things up at The Coterie.

As the series returns, the Coterie residents are dealing with the consequences of their personal and professional decisions and realize that sometimes standing up for what you believe in comes at a price. Cierra Ramirez Releases Music Video for New Single “Liquid Courage (Love Me Better)”

The 24-year-old Colombian and Mexican American actress/singer has released the steamy music video for her new single “Liquid Courage (Love Me Better)” exclusively on Billboard.

In the clip, the Good Troubleactress rocks several sultry looks — including an ivory pantsuit with nothing underneath — and spars with a hunky fencing partner while delivering the single’s come-hither lyrics.

“You got somethin’ over me/You just don’t know what to do/I mean, I could say it/But do you know the language?” she teases on the Latin pop-infused track, which also features Spanish lyrics peppered throughout its verses and chorus.

“I couldn’t be more excited to share my new single, ‘Liquid Courage,’ with the world!” Ramirez tells Billboard. “I haven’t released music in quite some time, so it’s really fulfilling. The song is another step forward for me as an artist. I love the feeling and vibe…I hope people love it as much as I loved making it.”

The new song is a follow-up to the budding recording artist’s 2018 single “Bad Boys.”

Freeform Renews Cierra Ramirez’s “Good Trouble” for Second Season

Freeform has picked up its critically praised series Good Trouble, starring the 23-year-old Latina actress, for a second season.

The pickup comes amid the show’s solid ratings. Last week’s episode “Playing The Game,” marked Freeform’s top drama telecast since June 2018 among women 18-34 and females 12-34 and ranked as cable’s No. 1 scripted series among females 12-34.

Good Trouble follows Callie (Maia Mitchell) and Mariana (Ramirez) as they embark on the next phase of their young adult lives in Los Angeles, as Mariana tackles the male-dominated world of tech and Callie faces the harsh realities of the federal legal system clerking for a federal judge. After moving to The Coterie in Downtown Los Angeles, Callie and Mariana realize that living on their own is not all that it’s cracked up to be. Faced with new neighbors, new challenges and, of course, new romances, the sisters must depend on one another to navigate the City of Angels.
