Harvey Guillén to Star In & Executive Produce the Dark Comedy “Damned If You Do”

The 34-year-old Mexican American actor will star in and executive produce the dark comedy, Damned If You Do, opposite Kate Siegel.

Damned If You Do follows a group of teenage friends who have sold their souls to the devil. Subsequently, life takes them down different paths, as a rock star, a tech mogul, and a high-profile activist. Years later, they must rely on an old classmate to try and escape Hell’s grasp before the contract’s deadline of their 25th high school reunion.

Molly Bernard, Jillian Gottlieb, Matthew Stephen Smith, Liza Treyger and Ashley Austin Morris round out the cast.

Best known for starring in FX’s What We Do in the Shadows, Guillén recently signed on to produce and star in That Friend, a comedy marking the feature directorial debut of writer-directors Will Sterling and Alex Wall.

Up next, he’ll be seen in Mike Flanagan’s Stephen King adaptation The Life of Chuck, as well as New Line’s sci-fi thriller Companion.

Josh Segarra to Appear on Season 3 of ABC’s “Abbott Elementary”

Josh SegarraSegarra will portray Manny, a good-natured Philadelphia school district representative who aims to bring fresh perspectives to his role as a school ambassador.

The ABC hit comedy returns with two new episodes for premiere on February 7. The series picks up mid-school year and will consist of 14 episodes, following last year’s dual WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.

Segarra currently stars in the Apple TV+ comedy, The Big Door Prize, opposite Chris O’Dowd. In 2023, Segarra starred in Scream 6 opposite Courteney Cox, Jenna Ortega and Melissa Barrera. Last summer, he starred as “Lance” in the third season of the HBO Max comedy series and opposite Stephen Amell as “Brooks Rizzo” in the Starz wrestling drama series Heels.

In 2022, Segarra joined the Marvel universe and starred in the Disney+ series She-Hulk, alongside Tatiana Maslany, Mark Ruffalo, Tim Roth and Ginger Gonzaga.

Erica Hernandez to Star in CBS’ Drama Pilot “True Lies,” An Adaptation of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Action Comedy

The Latina actress has been cast as a series regular in CBS’ drama pilot True Lies, the television adaptation of James Cameron’s 1994 action comedy movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis.

Hernandez will star opposite Omar Miller, Mike O’Gorman, Steve Howey and Ginger Gonzaga in the series.

Written by Matt Nix and to be directed by Anthony Hemingway, the pilot’s plot is true to its movie roots: Shocked to discover that her bland and unremarkable computer consultant husband (Howey) is a skilled international spy, an unfulfilled suburban housewife (Gonzaga) is propelled into a life of danger and adventure when she’s recruited to work alongside him to save the world as they try to revitalize their passionless marriage.

Hernandez will portray Maria, another of the operatives working with Harry (Howey). Tough and capable, she is a cool-headed, first class spy. But she never misses a chance to get in a dig at Luther’s expense, reminding him of something that went down between them while on a mission in Berlin.

20th Century Fox Television is the studio.

Hernandez can currently be seen as a series correspondent on the Emmy-nominated CBS show Mission Unstoppable, and in a recurring role on Epix series Bridge and Tunnel.

Her other television and film credits include NBC’s The Brave and New Amsterdam, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Brittany Runs a Marathon.

Josh Segarra to Star Opposite Tatiana Maslany in Marvel’s “She-Hulk”

The 35-year-old Puerto Rican actor has been cast in Marvel’s She-Hulk series starring Tatiana Maslany in the title role.

He joins a cast that includes Renée Elise Goldsberry, Ginger Gonzaga and Mark Ruffalo, who will be reprising his role as Bruce Banner aka the Hulk.

Marvel had no comment on the casting.

She-Hulk is a legal comedy that centers on the eponymous heroine (Maslany), aka Jennifer Walters, an attorney who has similar powers to her cousin, Banner/The Hulk. The She-Hulk series is directed by Kat Coiro and Anu Valia, with Jessica Gao serving as head writer.

It’s unknown who Segarra will be playing.

Segarra, an Arrow alum, can be seen next in the second season of The Other Two on HBO Max, which premieres on August 26. His other recent credits include playing RuPaul’s boyfriend in the hit Netflix series, AJ and the Queen and Pastor Christian in the Emmy-nominated Dolly Parton movie, Christmas in the Square.

The part-Latina actress has landed a recurring role opposite Jim Carrey in Showtime’s upcoming half-hour comedy series Kidding.

Created by Dave Holstein, and helmed by Carrey’s Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind director Michel Gondry, the 10-episode Kidding centers on Jeff, aka Mr. Pickles (Carrey), an icon of children’s television, a beacon of kindness and wisdom to America’s impressionable young minds and the parents who grew up with him – who also anchors a multimillion dollar branding empire. But when this beloved personality’s family – wife, two sons, sister and father – begins to implode, Jeff finds no fairy tale or fable or puppet will guide him through this crisis, which advances faster than his means to cope. Gonzaga will play Vivian, a cancer patient at the hospital where Jeff’s (Carrey) wife works.

The Kidding role expands Gonzaga’s relationship with Showtime. She plays Maggie on the premium cable network’s I’m Dying Up Here. She also can be seen on NBC’s Champions and in the upcoming season of HBO’s Room 104 opposite Bryan Tyree Henry.

The part-Latina actress has booked a series regular role in ABC’s untitled Bobby Bowman pilot.

Gonzaga is set as a narrator in the pilot, portraying an older version of the titular daughter character Lola.

This will be the second series Gonzaga has narrated for ABC, after previously lending her voice to the comedy Mixology, where she was a regular.

Gonzaga, who recently landed a recurring role on Showtime’s “Kidding,” can be seen on NBC’s Champions and in the upcoming season of HBO’s Room 104 opposite Bryan Tyree Henry.

TBS has given its survival comedy Wrecked, starring the part-Latina actress, a launch date. It will premiere Tuesday, June 20, with back-to-back episodes at 10:00 pm ET on TBS.

Wrecked is about a diverse group of airplane passengers stranded on an uninhabited island, a dangerous new world where they must face many threats – mostly brought on by themselves. No longer plugged into the rest of the world, the group struggles to navigate their makeshift society while also learning to live without such modern comforts as indoor plumbing, wi-fi, social media and Chipotle.

In addition to Gonzaga, the ensemble cast includes Asif Ali, Zach Cregger, Rhys Darby, Brooke Dillman, Will Greenberg, Jessica Lowe, Ally Maki and Brian Sacca.

The first season of Wrecked was executive produced by Justin Shipley & Jordan Shipley, along with Jesse Hara and Moses Port.

Wrecked is reaching a multiplatform audience of 5.2 million viewers across linear, video on demand, digital and mobile. It ranks among cable’s Top 25 scripted series for the year-to-date and is the No. 1 new cable comedy based on Live+7 delivery of adults 18-49, according to TBS and Nielsen.

In addition to Gonzaga, the ensemble cast includes Asif Ali, Zach Cregger, Rhys Darby, Brooke Dillman, Will Greenberg, Jessica Lowe, Ally Maki and Brian Sacca.

Wrecked airs at 10:00 pm ET on Tuesdays.

The part-Latina actress has been cast in the TBS pilot Wrecked, a single-camera comedy from up-and-coming writers Justin Shipley and Jordan Shipley and producer Jesse Hara.

Described as Lost meets It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Wrecked follows a group of extremely diverse survivors of a plane crash on a remote island who must adjust to life in a dangerous new world that poses unique threats — mostly brought upon themselves. No longer plugged in, the group must navigate this new society and learn to live without the comforts of 2015, including social media, Wifi, indoor plumbing and Chipotle.

Gonzaga, whose television credits include Anger Management, Mixology and In Gayle We Trust, will portray Emma, who’s on her way to Thailand with her friend, Florence, after having decided to drop out of medical school.

Gonzaga’s costars include Zach Cregger, Jessica Lowe, Asif Ali, Ally Maki, Will Greenberg, Brooke Dillman, James ScottGeorge Basil and Rhys Darby.

Filming on the pilot has begun in Puerto Rico.
