It’ll be a busy Cannes Film Festival for Gael Garcia Bernal…
Along with serving as a panelist on the festival’s main jury, the 35-year-old Mexican actor, director and producer will also attend the screening of his latest film El Ardor.
Festival organizers have selected the Pablo Fendrik-directed film to receive a special screening, alongside Laurent Bécue-Renard’s documentary Of Men and War, director Adilkhan Yerzhanov’s The Owners and Tony Gatlif’s Géronimo.
García Bernal portrays a mysterious man who emerges from the Argentinean rainforest to rescue the kidnapped daughter (portrayed by Alice Braga) of a poor farmer after mercenaries murder her father and take over his property.
The Cannes Film Festival will run from May 14-25.
