Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias is opening up about his Legend(ary) status…
Netflix has announced plans to globally premiere the 48-year-old Mexican-American stand-up comedian and actor’s new stand-up special, Legend of Fluffy on January 7, 2025.
It’s Iglesias’ first special to emerge from a two-special deal with the streamer, which was announced earlier this year .
The special finds Iglesias in his 27th year in comedy, reminiscing on the perils of life: from dating, to home break-ins, to turbulent plane rides.
Shot at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, it’s his fourth for the streamer on the heels of Gabriel Iglesias: Stadium Fluffy (2022), where he made history as the first comedian to perform at and sell out Dodger Stadium, the largest MLB stadium in the U.S., as part of Netflix Is a Joke Fest.
His other specials there include Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias: One Show Fits All (2019) and Gabriel Iglesias: I’m Sorry for What I Said When I Was Hungry (2016).
Manny Rodriguez directed, with Iglesias executive producing alongside John Bravakis and Joe Meloche. Fluffy Shop Studios and Triage Entertainment produced.
One of the world’s highest grossing comedians, Iglesias is also one of the most watched on YouTube with over 2 billion views, and boasts over 34.6 million fans across social media. One of the few to headline and sell-out Madison Square Garden in New York, Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, and The Sydney Opera House in Australia, he was previously in business with Netflix as the executive producer and star of its multi-cam Mr. Iglesias, which ran for two seasons.
Previously executive producing and hosting Comedy Central’s Stand-Up Revolution, Iglesias did the same for the docuseries Fluffy’s Food Adventures, which ran for three seasons on Fuse TV. Also previously putting out the Comedy Central special Aloha Fluffy, among others, he’s additionally been seen in series like The Santa Clauses and Lopez vs. Lopez, as well as the Magic Mike franchise and other films.
The 47-year-old Mexican American stand-up comedian and actor is lending his voice to the animated caveman comedy Rock Bottom.
Iglesias will lead the voice cast alongside Rob Schneider.
Australia’s Odin’s Eye Animation (OEA) has boarded sales on the project, the latest production from Mexican animation powerhouse Huevocartoon Studios.
Iglesias’ many animation voice credits include The Nut JobandThe Book of Life.
Rock Bottom is a co-production with Dario Sanchez’s 3DoublesProductions, the Spanish studio based in Tenerife known for its work on 100% Wolf, Inspector Sun and upcoming film SuperKlaus.
OEA has acquired worldwide rights to the film excluding Latin America, which will be handled by Videocine; Televisa/Univision) and Spain (3 Doubles Productions).
As per the synopsis, Rock Bottom follows the story of Gungo, an overconfident heir to the chieftain’s throne. After his banishment, he finds himself leading a motley crew of outcasts to reclaim his rightful place and guide his tribe toward a prosperous future, learning lessons about unity, resilience, and the true meaning of strength along the way.
The film is co-directed, co-written and co-produced by HuevoCartoons fraternal co-founders Rodolfo RivaPalacio and Gabriel Riva Palacio.
“Rock Bottom will be an exhilarating ride into a prehistoric world,” they said. “This film isn’t just about laughs; it’s about challenging our perceptions of individuality, self-worth, and what is the glue that makes a community thrive.”
Odin’s Eye Animation CEO Michael Favelle added: “It’s not just a film; it’s an invitation to explore the roots of our humanity with laughter, empathy, and perhaps a little bit of prehistoric wisdom.”
Cardi B is preparing for a rockin’ New Year’s Eve.

In the second season, the Calvin family is back in the North Pole as Scott Calvin (Tim Allen) continues his role as Santa Claus after retirement plans were thwarted when failing to find a worthy successor in season one. He has a brilliant mind that can expand this story in unimaginable ways.”
“After The Book of Lifeand the amazing experience on Maya and the Three, I’m now thrilled to collaborate with [VP Animated Films] Melissa [Cobb], [VP Animated Films] Gregg [Taylor], [Director of Animated Films] Tito [Ortiz] and all my friends at Netflix Animation on my follow up animated feature: I, Chihuahua! And to finally tag team a movie with my good friend and creative partner Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias is a dream come true!” added Gutiérrez. “Our internationally epic and heartfelt film will be a hilarious love letter to Lucha Libre (Mexican wrestling) movies, fighting video games and underdog sports films.
