It’s a good (omen) time to be Adria Arjona…
The 25-year-old Puerto Rican and Guatemalan actress is set to star in Amazon’s six-part television adaptation of Good Omens, based on the book by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman.
Described as equal parts humor and horror, fantasy and drama, Good Omens takes place in 2018 when the Apocalypse is near and Final Judgment is set to descend upon humanity. The armies of Good and Evil are amassing, Atlantis is rising, and tempers are flaring. Everything appears to be going according to Divine Plan — except a somewhat fussy angel and a fast-living demon are not looking forward to the coming war, and someone seems to have misplaced the Antichrist.
Arjona will play Anathema Device, practical occultist and descendant of the ancient witch Agnes Nutter.
Good Omens also stars Jack Whitehall, Michael McKean and Miranda Richardson.
Good Omens is written by Gaiman (American Gods), who also will serve as showrunner. Produced by BBC Studios, Narrativia and the Blank Corporation, in association with BBC Worldwide, it will launch in the UK on Prime Video before going on to BBC Two.
