Trailer Released for Lourdes Hernández’s Spanish-Language Romantic Comedy “Ramona”

Lourdes Hernández’s latest project is getting special attention…

A first-look trailer for Spanish director Andrea Bagney’s romantic comedy Ramona, starring the 36-year-old Spanish indie and folk singer-songwriter.

The mainly black-and-white debut feature received strong reviews and sales interest following its festival launch.

Hernández co-stars as a young woman who moves to Madrid with the dreams of becoming an actress and a mother as well as living in the city’s historic Lavapiés quarter.

On the eve of her first audition, she meets an older man (Bruno Lastra) with whom she feels an instant connection. Scared of her feelings, she flees only to discover that the man is the director of the film she has set up sights on.

Ramona is sold internationally by Belgium-based company Best Friend Forever which acquired sales rights on the eve of KVIFF. Filmin also scooped Spanish rights ahead of its world premiere.

The production is lead produced by Spanish-American producer Sergio Uguet de Resayre under his Tortilla Films banner. His previous credits include Jesus Shows You The Way To The Highway.

Ramona will get its Spanish local premiere as the opening film at Spain’s Atlántida Mallorca Film Festival on July 25.
