Cardi B Teams Up with Normani for New Single “Wild Side” and ‘Cheeky’ Music Video

Cardi B isn’t afraid to show her wild side… or her back side.

The 28-year-old half-Dominican American rap superstar has joined voices with former Fifth Harmony member Normani for the bold new single “Wild Side” and its equally cheeky music video.

Normani & Cardi B

Normani and Cardi B leave nothing to the imagination in their brief, but sizzling scenes together in the Tanu Muino-directed clip.

Normani and her dancers go through various scene changes before a nude Cardi B makes her appearance, and you better believe things get steamy.

“Look, dímelo, turn me ’round/ Treat me like a watch, bust me down/ On the kitchen floor, right on that towel/ It’s my d— and I want it now, ow/ Tell me how you want it/ Put me on my back or my stomach/ Baby, let me blow it like a trumpet/ I can do it all, I can prolly suck a watermelon through a straw,” Cardi raps while hugging a chain in the raw.

No sooner, a naked Normani slides in and the two women embrace in nothing but long wigs covering their exposed bodies on a green, fountain-like set that lets loose a shower of water on them as the setting shifts one other time.

“I had already been in rehearsal for about three weeks preparing for the video when Cardi heard the record for the first time,” Normani said in a statement. “She really showed up for me and brought this record to life by simply doing what Cardi does best. I love that woman down and I’m forever grateful.”

The exciting collab comes nearly one year after Normani appeared in the music video for Cardi and Megan Thee Stallion‘s Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit “WAP.”

Cardi B Teams Up with Normani for Surprise New Single “Wild Side”

Cardi B’s embracing her wild side

The 28-year-old half-Dominican America rap superstar has joined voices with Normani for the surprise new single, “Wild Side.”

Cardi B

The artists announced the track on Wednesday, revealing in a series of tweets that their collaboration will drop on Friday morning (July 16).

They also unwrapped the single’s very revealing cover art, which finds both women reclining on a giant pearly shell in the nude with just their long flowing hair covering them up.

A video for the track will also be released.

When Cardi B found out the pair were trending after the release of the news, the “Up” rapper made a prophetic promise: “The world is ready for Normani supremacy!!!!”

Normani, who is still working away on her anticipated debut solo album, was clearly excited about the superstar summit, posting a pair of teary-eyed emoji after a fan offered up a cute tweet with throwback photos of “baby Normani” and “Baby Cardi.”

She also re-tweeted an old video of Cardi B giving the former Fifth Harmony singer props, throwing up a string of heart emoji and one more welling-up-with-tears one for good measure to show appreciation for Cardi’s longtime support. Cardi was just as excited, reacting to Normani’s reaction to watching their “Wild” video again — in which Normani humbly tweeted, “sis what the actual f—” — by tweeting, “Ommmmgggg I’m nervous!!!!! But then again I’m not YOU DID THAT!!!!!!! I hope and you better be proud of yourself!!”

To date, Normani has released five singles, including “Motivation,” the Sam Smith duet “Dancing With a Stranger” and the Khalid collaboration “Love Lies,” but has not yet announced the release date for her first solo full-length.

J Balvin Lands Two Singles on Spotify’s “Billions Club” Playlist

J Balvin is officially in special company…

Spotify has launched its “Billions Club” playlist to highlight the music of the members of its Billion Streams Club, including two of the 36-year-old Colombian singer/songwriter’s most iconic singles.

J Balvin

According to Spotify, the new playlist — which currently features more than 150 songs — highlights the megahits that have surpassed the one billion streams mark. Included on the new playlist are J Balvin’s “Mi Gente” with Willy William and his collaboration with Cardi B and Bad Bunny, “I Like It.”

In all Cardi B has three singles on the playlist. Along with “I Like It,” the other singles are “Girls Like You” with Maroon 5, and “Taki Taki,” her collaboration with Selena Gomez, Ozuna and DJ Snake.

Selena Gomez has three singles. Along with “Taki Taki,” her other singles on the playlist include “We Don’t Talk Anymore” with Charlie Puth, and “It Ain’t Me” with Kygo.

Bruno Mars has three singles on the playlist “That’s What I Like” and “Just the Way You Are,” as well as “Uptown Funk” with Mark Ronson.

Other Latin artists appearing on the playlist include Karol G, Danny Ocean, Fifth Harmony, Camila Cabello and Luis Fonsi.

“Spotify has long celebrated artist milestones and we wanted to find a unique way to honor the artists and songs fans can’t stop listening to,” Ashley Graver, Global Head of Creative Artist Partnerships, tells Billboard. “The Billions Club playlist is a natural evolution of the plaques you have seen from multiple artists, and we are excited to give fans a one-stop destination to enjoy some of the most streamed songs in the world.”

Also in celebration of the newly rounded up collection of songs, Spotify created a video sharing how various artists have reveled when learning of the milestone and receiving their One Billion Streams plaque from the streamer.

Prior to the launch of the “Billions Club” playlist, some artists have marked hitting the billion streams achievement by doing more than just showing off their shiny new plaques on social media. Several have literally eaten off the platter-shaped badge of honor: Halsey dug into some Cheetos and candy, Joe Jonas dined on some McDonald’s, and Quavo ate some scrambled eggs and waffles with plenty of syrup, for example. (See Billboard’s gallery.)

Spotify has been busy this year launching new features beyond the just announced “Billions Club” playlist.

In April, the streaming service started adding some livestream events to artist pages, and in late May, partnered with Driift for tickets to a virtual concert series.

Camila Cabello is stripping things down for her birthday…

Camila Cabello

The Cuban and Mexican singer and former Fifth Harmony member, who turned 23 on Tuesday, March 3, shared an adorable baby pic of herself on Instagram, wearing nothing but a blanket wrapped around her head.

“I’m 23 in a few hours so I’m posting my first internet nude,” she joked in the caption.

Cabello will most likely spend her birthday as a Disney princess in the magical English countryside, where she’s been preparing for and filming her lead role in the upcoming Cinderella movie.

Tainy Releases New Single “Nada,” Featuring Lauren Jauregui & C. Tangana

Tainyis taking it old-escuela

The 30-year-old Puerto Rican hit-making producer and songwriter captures the essence of the reggaetón he was raised on “Nada,” the just-released single off his forthcoming debut solo EP The Kids That Grew Up On Reggaeton: Neon Tapes.

Tainy

Featuring Lauren Jaureguiand C. Tangana, “Nada” crosses language and genre barriers with Jauregui’s soulful pop vocals filtering Spanish and English lyrics and C. Tangana’s electronically-tinged trap verses.

The song has a sexual flare to it, as both singers reject the notion of marriage but bemoan that they’re giving each other “nada” or nothing with their undefined yet playful relationship.

The Elliot Muscat/The Garden-directed music video is set in Miami, Fla. where Tainy launched his NEON16 studio, showing the city’s raw, yet vibrant landscapes from green palm trees cascading over a vintage red Mercedes Benz that the former Fifth Harmony member rests on to turquoise-colored houses where Tainy kicks back with the guys.

The Kids That Grew Up On Reggaeton: Neon Tapes marks Tainy’s first solo venture after working with the likes of Bad Bunny, J Balvin, Anuel AA, Ozuna and more Latin popstars in his accelerating successful career, spanning 47 Hot Latin Songs entries and a No. 1 producer ranking last year on Billboard‘s Latin Producers chart (dated July 20).

“Nada” marks a pivotal cross-cultural moment in Tainy’s reggaetón speciality, democratizing the Latin urban genre for both mainstream American and Latin artists. “You can’t go too drastic when you’re creating records for the Latin market; it’s about expanding what their ear is used to,” Tainy told Billboard in an interview last month. “The American market has more liberty. Hearing the essence of reggaetón from [his production team] Luny Tunes, but listening to different chords from The Neptunes or how big and full Timbaland‘s percussion sounds [are] and adding those pop and electronic elements [influences my work].”
