Wyatt Flores to Perform at This Year’s Americana Honors & Awards

Wyatt Flores is ready to take the American stage…

The 23-year-old Mexican American country music singer-songwriter and musician will perform at this year’s Americana Honors & Awards.

Wyatt FloresThe awards will take place at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on September 18.

Flores is nominated this year in the Emerging Act of the Year category.

Other performers include Sierra Ferrell, Noah Kahan, Brandy Clark, Blind Boys of Alabama, Dave Alvin, Dwight Yoakam, Shelby Lynne, SistaStrings (who will perform with Clark), Fantastic Negrito (who will perform in a tribute to the late Rev. Gary Davis), Charles Wesley Godwin, Hurray for the Riff Raff, Jobi Riccio, Kaitlin Butts, Larkin Poe, The Milk Carton Kids, Sarah Jarosz, Turnpike Troubadours, The War and Treaty and Waxahatchee with MJ Lenderman.

The program will be filmed for broadcast on PBS in the Austin City Limits time slot in November.

Bruno Mars to Co-Headline Louisville’s Bourbon & Beyond Festival

Bruno Mars is celebrating one of Kentucky’s finest exports…

The 37-year-old part-Puerto Rican singer/songwriter and multiple Grammy winner will be among the headlining acts for this year’s Bourbon & Beyond festival at the Highland Festival Grounds in Louisville, Kentucky.

Bruno Mars, Ricky Regal, LacosteMars’ co-headliners include Brandi Carlile, The Killers and The Black Keys atop an eclectic lineup of rock, pop, folk, blues and country acts from September 14-17. 

The four-day event’s roster announced on Wednesday (March 8) will also feature Billy Strings, Train, Midland, Buddy Guy, Mavis Staples, Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors and The Lone Bellow on the first night, which will be topped by Carlile.

Night two will find the Killers atop a list including Duran Duran, Hozier, Brittany Howard, Bastille, The Gaslight Anthem, Wayne Newton, Inahler, Joy Oladokun and more.

The Keys and Crowes will top Saturday’s rocking run-down, with support from The Avett Brothers, Spoon, First Aid Kit, Old Crow Medicine Show, City and Colour, Paolo Nutini, Luke Grimes and Danielle Ponder.

The final night pairs headliner Mars with Blondie, Jon Batiste, Ryan Bingham, Babyface, Aloe Blacc, ZZ Ward and Fantastic Negrito, among many others.

Each day will also feature a full lineup on the Bluegrass Situation Stage.

As always, in addition to a full day and night of music, the fest will host bourbon and food stages with appearances from master distillers, A-list chefs and, of course, dozens of bourbons to taste.

Jesse & Joy Performance Clip to Be Featured on “MusiCares: Music on a Mission” Special

Jesse & Joy will be heading on a special mission…

Fans will be able to view a previously recorded performance clip of the Mexican duo, comprised of brother Jesse Huerta and sister Joy Huerta, will at “MusiCares: Music on a Mission” on Wednesday, March 30.

Jesse & JoyThe virtual event will also feature a performance clip by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, taken from the MusiCares Person of the Year gala on February 10, 2017, where Petty was the honoree. Petty died less than eight months later, one week after the end of the band’s 40th anniversary tour.

Other performances include Brandi Carlile, Jason Isbell, k.d. lang, Shawn Colvin, Fantastic Negrito, Gian Marco, Dante Spinetta, Amythyst Kiah, morgxn, Zach Person, Emily Wolfe and Fitz of Fitz and the Tantrums .

According to a statement, the event will celebrate the power of music and also Joni Mitchell as the 2022 MusiCares Person of the Year honoree.

Every dollar from ticket purchases will be distributed to those in need in the music community.

The event will include testimonials from members of the music community who have been helped by MusiCares. MusiCares’ partner in the event is Gibson, the Nashville-based instrument brand.

Music on a Mission will air on Mandolin, the concert livestream platform, on March 30 at 5:00 pm PT/8:00 pm ET.

Music on a Mission was first held in March 2021 to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. Nearly 17,000 people bought tickets. The event raised more than $2 million.

“We were blown away by the support from the music community, industry professionals and of course music fans,” Laura Segura, executive director of MusiCares, said in a statement. “We’re so thankful that Gibson recognizes the importance of this event to both fans and professional musicians and that they’ve signed on to help us make Music on a Mission a reality again this year.”

Pedrito Martinez to Perform at This Year’s Love Rocks NYC Concert

Pedrito Martinez will bring some love to the Big Apple…

The fifth annual Love Rocks NYC concert will feature a performance by the 47-year-old Cuban percussionist, drummer, singer, dancer, bandleader, songwriter, composer, and educator.

Martinez joins a lineup that includes Sara Bareilles, Jon Bon Jovi, Gary Clark Jr., Yola and more, according to the Steven & Alexandra Cohen Foundation.

The benefit concert for God’s Love We Deliver, which was founded during the AIDS epidemic in 1985 in efforts to deliver meals to vulnerable people, will stream on Fans.Live from the historic Beacon Theatre on June 3.

Jeff Garlin, Michael Imperioli and Bernie Williams will host the show this year, with special guest Tina Fey.

Love Rocks NYC will not only support and honor the work of the nonprofit, which is celebrating its 36th anniversary this year, but also NYC frontline workers who have been tirelessly aiding the city throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Interested parties can sign up to receive a free livestream link here, but a donation to God’s Love We Deliver of $20, which equals two meals, is encouraged.

The star-studded lineup for Love Rocks NYC 2021 will also include Joe Bonamassa, Billy Gibbons, Warren Haynes, Emily King, Ledisi, Tash Neal, Fantastic Negrito, Ivan Neville, Robert Randolph, Nathaniel Rateliff and Jimmy Vivino. More performers will be announced at a later date.
