Tenoch Huerta Earns NAACP Image Award for “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” Performance

Tenoch Huerta is an Image Award winner…

This year’s NAACP Image Awards winners have been announced, with the 42-year-old Mexican actor picking up a prize.

Tenoch HuertaHuerta, who recently earned two Critics Choice Super Awards nominations, was named Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture for her performance in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which took the award for Outstanding Motion Picture.

Ivan Herrera’s drama Bantú Mama, acquired for distribution in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand by Ava DuVernay’s Array Releasing, picked up an award.

The 45-year-old Dominican filmmaker’s drama was named Outstanding International Motion Picture.

Scott Mescudi, aka Kid Cudi, picked up the Outstanding Writing in a Television Movie or Special award alongside Ian Edelman and Maurice Williams for Entergalactic.

Bruno Mars picked up the Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration (Traditional) award for his Silk Sonic track “Love’s Train.”

The weeklong event honors the achievements and performances of people of color in more than 80 categories.

Kid Cudi Backpedals on Retirement Talk, Says He’s Preparing One More Album

Kid Cudi isn’t calling it quits just yet…

The 38-year-old half-Mexican American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer and actor is putting his potential retirement on hold — at least for now.

Kid CudiOn Sunday (Nov. 6), Kid Cudi explained on Twitter that he’ll prepare one more album before his record deal with Republic Records is up, and that he’ll potentially be releasing songs he’s previously teased.

“Im doin 1 more album and then im done w my deal and not sure what ima do after that but yea, 1 more,” he wrote. “Wont be next year. Keep u posted.” In a follow up tweet, Cudi added, “This is for all my fans that have been ridin w me for so long. This will be all new music. The songs ive teased ill prolly put out as singles here and there to hold u over.”

During the rapper’s appearance on Hot Ones in early October, he shared that he feels like his career as a rap artist is “nearing the end.”

Host Sean Evans had asked the rapper who he looked to as the blueprint for aging gracefully as an artist. “

Yeah, like Jay-Z for sure,” Cudi said. “But I don’t feel like I have what they have. I just don’t know if I wanna do music, drop albums for too much longer, you know? I’m kind of nearing the end on all things Kid Cudi, I think.”

As for what the artist sees himself doing in the future? “This is like a wacky idea I had years ago. But it would be cool to, like, one day be a kindergarten teacher, and just do that for a couple years,” he shared. “Like, when I’m, like, 50 … And I just, like, infect the youth with that freshness. Get ’em young, and then those kids will just sprinkle the freshness to the world, and I’ll just be like, ‘Yes! Yes!’”

Cudi’s most recent album Entergalactic — the corresponding set for animated Netflix special of the same name — peaked at No. 13 on the Billboard 200.

Kid Cudi Reveals Track List for Upcoming Album “Entergalactic”

Kid Cudi is teasing his entergalactic work…

The 38-year-old hal;f-Mexican American rapper, singer and songwriter has revealed the full track list for his upcoming album Entergalactic.

Kid Cudi “#Entergalactic SEPT 30TH HERE WE GO B–!!” Kid Cudi captioned the post, signaling the LP’s release date set for this Friday via Republic Records.

The 14-track project will serve as a follow-up to Kid Cudi’s 2020 studio set Man on the Moon III: The Chosen and contains the singles “Do What I Want” and “Willing to Trust” featuring Ty Dolla $ign.

According to the track list, Entergalatic will also feature another Ty Dolla $ign collab (“Can’t Shake Her”) as well as the 2 Chainz-assisted “Can’t Believe It” and “Somewhere to Fly” featuring Don Toliver.

Bonus track “Burrow,” meanwhile, will feature Toliver, Steve Aoki and Dot Da Genius.

The album has been a long time coming, with Kid Cudi teasing its concept as far back as 2019, when he told Complex, “Entergalactic is a fantasy. It’s what I wish I had. I live a very lonely life, but I have hope I’ll find someone someday.”

Over the past couple of months, Cudi has opened up about his falling-out with onetime friend and mentor Kanye West, who blasted him (along with outgoing Adidas CEO Kasper Rørsted) in a fake New York Times headline posted to Instagram in early September.

And just last week, the rapper was blown away when Martin Scorsese heaped praise on Pearl, the blood-soaked horror flick starring Mia Goth that he co-produced through his Mad Solar production company.

Kid Cudi is compiling his most impactful music…

The38-year-old half-Mexican American singer, rapper and songwriter, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, has announced plans to release his first-ever greatest hits compilation, The Boy Who Flew to the Moon Vol. 1, which he plans to launch on Friday, July 8.

Scott “Kid Cudi” MescudiAdditionally, Cudi revealed in the same post that he’ll be offering his 2008 debut mixtape, A Kid Named Cudi, on streaming services for the first time beginning July 15.

“I love u. Ur welcome,” he tweeted on Monday, along with heart, peace sign and smiley face emoji. He followed up a short time later with the announcement that the tracklist for the hits comp will be unveiled on Wednesday (July 6).

“A Kid Named Cudi dropped July 17th 2008. This official release is 2 days shy of the 14th anniversary,” Cudi wrote, noting that it will also be available on vinyl. “I am so damn excited u all get to enjoy it again, remastered, w all the jams that made people fans from jump. Also, did a new intro.”

The mixtape was originally released by Fool’s Gold Records and 10.Deep and it contains the song that announced Cudi to the world, his debut single, “Day ‘n’ Nite,” which ran up to No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart; the song was the lead single from Cudi’s 2009 debut studio album, Man on the Moon: The End of Day.

The dual announcement caps what’s been a busy month already for Cudi, who is also prepping his eighth studio album, Entergalactic, due out in the fall. The collection is named after his upcoming Netflix series, which is slated to premiere on September 30. He performed the live debut of the album’s first single, “Do What I Want,” at last month’s Governors Ball Festival in New York.

He also recently announced the dates for his To The Moon — 2022 World Tour, a 27-city outing that will take him across North America, Asia and Europe beginning with an August 16 show at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, BC through a November 22 gig at the Fabrique in Milan, Italy.

Arturo Castro Joins Voice Cast of Kid Cudi’s Adult-Animated Music Series “Entergalactic”

Arturo Castro has landed an out of this world role…

The 36-year-old Guatemalan actor has joined the all-star voice cast of Entergalactic, the adult-animated music series based on the upcoming album of the same name by rapper, singer and actor Kid Cudi (aka Scott Mescudi).

Arturo CastroIn addition to Castro, new cast additions include Jessica Williams, Timothée Chalamet, Ty Dolla $ign, Laura Harrier, Vanessa Hudgens, Christopher Abbott, 070 Shake, Teyana Taylor, Jaden Smith, Keith David and Macaulay Culkin.

The series, which hails from Kenya Barris and Kid Cudi, will showcase music from Kid Cudi’s album.

Entergalactic follows a young artist named Jabari, voiced by Mescudi, as he attempts to balance love and success. Finding the latter brings Jabari a step closer to the former, when moving into his dream apartment introduces him to his new neighbor, photographer it-girl, Meadow, voiced by Williams. An explosion of art, music, and fashion, Entergalactic takes place in the only city that can handle all three: New York.

Character descriptions below.

Kid Cudi’s Jabari, a charming, creative visionary with a splash of goofball, is effortlessly cool. Dressed head-to-toe in the holiest of streetwear grails, Jabari is just one of those kids you can’t help but love. At a first time crossroads of career success and the perfect apartment, he is about to find the final piece of adulthood: true love.

Williams’ Meadow is an on-the-rise photographer who is Jabari’s new neighbor. Meadow is not only the coolest girl at the party, she’s the realest.

Chalamet is Jimmy, Jabari’s best friend and… weed dealer, though with the new drug laws he’s now focusing on crypto and new inventions. An oxymoronic, laid back conspiracy theorist, Jimmy is never without a blunt and a book.

Ty Dolla $ign voices Ky, Jabari’s irreverent, and at times, inappropriate road dog. Ky is always there for Jabari, even though his support can sometimes come in interesting packages.

Harrier is Carmen, Jabari’s recent ex-girlfriend. Stylish and confident, Carmen is the girl you’re supposed to marry.

Hudgens voices Karina, Meadow’s best friend who is trustworthy, grounded and adorably pregnant.

Abbott is Reed, well-dressed shark with a heart and art dealer representing Meadow’s photography. Reed has the kind of chin that is sharp enough to cut glass but not strong enough to take a punch.

070 Shake voices Nadia, Meadow’s associate from the art scene. Born and raised in New York City, Nadia is an in-your-face sculptor whose voice could only be drowned out by the brashness of her own work.

Smith is Jordan. An adolescent BMX superstar, Jordan’s talent earns a pass to kick it with Jabari and Jimmy. Jordan sees the dating landscape in New York City just a bit different than Jabari.

David voices Mr. Rager: Jabari’s superhero creation.

Taylor voices Boxing Coach, Meadow and Karina’s hard-nose boxing instructor at Rumble NYC.

Castro is Len. An upwardly mobile professional, Len is Jabrari’s co-worker at Vision Comics. He wears hard-bottom shoes and a newsboy cap. He’s super smart AND super annoying.

Culkin voices Downtown Pat. Downtown legend and life-long, city-wide delinquent. Despite his gritty exterior, Pat has a very romantic heart and wise words to give.

Mescudi will write, star, and executive produce the series. How To Make It In America creator Ian Edelman will co-write with Mescudi and will also executive produce along with Barris.

Entergalactic premieres this fall on Netflix.

Kid Cudi Launches Production & Music Management Company ‘Mad Solar’

Kid Cudi is expanding his entertainment empire…

The 36-year-old half-Mexican American Grammy-winning recording artist and actor, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, has partnered with Dennis Cummings and Karina Manashil to launch the production and music management company Mad Solar with the backing of Bron, which provides corporate back office and production support, including financing, marketing, and sales.

“Beyond excited to be launching my production company Mad Solar and partnering with Bron, whose creative vision and storytelling has transformed the industry,” Mescudi said. “I am so very proud of the slate that we are developing and can’t WAIT for you all to see what we got cookin’.”

Mad Solar is producing the upcoming Netflix animated series Entergalactic, which Mescudi co-created alongside Kenya Barris. Based on original music by Mescudi, the series, which Mescudi writes, executive produces and stars in, follows a young man on his journey to discover love.

Additionally, Mad Solar has teamed with A24 and Bron Studios on the horror film X. Written and directed by Ti West, X stars Mia Goth, Mescudi and Jenna Ortega. Mescudi is an executive producer on the film, which will begin production early 2021.

Mescudi can be seen in Season 3 of HBO’s Westworld and Nick Jarecki’s indie feature Dreamland opposite Gary Oldman. He also had a key supporting role in MGM’s Bill & Ted Face The Music and played one of the leads of Luca Guadagnino’s HBO series We Are Who We Are.

Kid Cudi is who he is…

HBO has released the official trailer for new series We Are Who We Are,starring the 36-year-old half-Mexican American rapper/singer, whose real name is Scott Mescudi.

Directed by Luca Guadagnino, the series follows two teenagers living with their families on a U.S. military base in Italy in the coming-of-age story. The eight-part series will premiere on HBO sometime in September on an unconfirmed date.

The “Leader Of The Delinquents” rapper stars alongside Chloë Sevigny, Jack Dylan Grazer, Alice Braga, Jordan Kristine Seamón, Spence Moore II, Faith Alabi, Beatrice Barichella, Francesca Scorsese, Corey Knight, Vittoria Bottin, Tom Mercier,Benjamin L. Taylor II and Sebastiano Pigazzi.

Blood Orange composed the mini-drama series’ score.

Kid Cudi made his HBO debut a decade ago when he portrayed Domingo Brown for two seasons on How To Make It In America from 2010-11. 

His return to television includes his own animated Netflix series Entergalactic that he’ll executive produce with Black-ish creator Kenya Barris and How to Make It in America creator Ian Edelman and record an accompanyingalbum. Kid Cudi’s also working on an animated TV series with his “Kids See Ghosts” other half Kanye West by the same name as the duo.
