Yandel Earns His Ninth Top 10 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs Chart

Yandel is on Cloud Nine

The 39-year-old Puerto Rican reggaeton singer, whose real name is Llandel Veguilla Malavé, has earned his ninth top 10 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart (dated December 3), as “Nunca Me Olvides” hops 12-10 in its 19th charting frame.

Yandel

Before going solo in 2013, the reggaetonero also notched 21 top 10s on the chart as part of the Grammy-winning duo Wisin & Yandel, bringing his career top 10 total to 30.

The chart rise follows his performance of the track on the Latin Grammys, which was broadcast live November 17 on Univision.

Yandel took home awards for best urban song and best urban/fusion performance, for his song “Encantadora” — his highest-charting song to date on Hot Latin Songs, reaching No. 3 on the April 9, 2016, tally.

The latest chart frame also provides the track with its best airplay, sales and streaming week. At radio, the track rises 17 percent (to 14 million audience impressions in the week ending Nov. 20, according to Nielsen Music), bumping it up 4-2 on the Latin Airplay chart.

The song was streamed 747,000 times in the week ending November 17 (up 6 percent), achieving a new high, with the bulk (71 percent) of plays coming from YouTube. The music video, uploaded in July, has over 87 million global views to date. Sales increase 29 percent (to 1,000 downloads in the week ending Nov. 17), pushing it 24-22 on the Latin Digital Song Sales chart.
