Mariah Carey is getting all dolled up for the holidays…

Mattel is releasing a special Barbie doll to celebrate the 54-year-old half-Venezuelan American Grammy-winning songstress and Queen of Christmas this holday season.

Capturing Carey’s “signature flair and dazzling style,” the doll wears a glittery, trumpet gown with matching red heels. The festive, red dress features ruched overlay with a dramatic slit and sparkly silvery jewelry. The doll also holds a silver microphone and wears a tiny replica of Carey’s butterfly ring.

Mariah Carey is bringing a taste of Christmas to the Billboard Music Awards

The 54-year-old half-Venezuelan American will take the awards show stage for a festive, Aspen-inspired performance of “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” which will mark the first time the holiday perennial has been performed on an awards show.

Carey’s performance is part of a star-filled lineup of previously announced BBMA performers, including David Guetta and Bebe Rexha, KAROL G, NewJeans, Peso Pluma, Stray Kids and Morgan Wallen.

Carey will be honored with the Billboard Chart Achievement Award for the holiday classic, which has climbed to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 every year since 2019. It has thus far spent 12 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s flagship chart, becoming one of three Carey hits to log 10 or more weeks in the top spot.

It joins “One Sweet Day,” a collaboration with Boyz II Men which spent a then-record 16 weeks at No. 1 in 1995-96 and “We Belong Together,” which spent 14 weeks on top in 2005.

The 2023 BBMAs will honor the year’s hottest names in music determined by year-end performance metrics on the Billboard charts. The program, produced by Dick Clark Productions, will deliver a reimagined award show concept that will entertain fans with music and exclusive content. Performances and award celebrations will take place in global locations, in the midst of sold-out tours, and in custom venues.

Mariah Carey’s Music to Be Featured as Part of Apple Fitness+’s ‘Artist Spotlight’ Workout Series

Apple Fitness+ has added the music of the 52-year-old half-Venezuelan Grammy-winning singer to its newly added workouts.

Mariah CareyIn honor of Women’s History Month, Carey, Miley Cyrus and Shania Twain will be highlighted as part of the program’s Artist Spotlight series, which dedicates an entire set of workouts to a single artist and their discography.

Starting Monday, March 6, Fitness+ users can pedal to the beat of the “Flowers” singer’s music in a cycling workout, return to heart center when it’s a wrap on the Carey-inspired yoga workout and feel like a powerful woman post-strength workout featuring Twain’s tunes.

New workouts will roll out every Monday throughout the month of March.

The Lambily will need to stretch as far and wide as Mimi’s vocal range — which spans across five octaves and goes all the way up to those whistle tones we all try reaching when belting out her 1991 Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 smash “Emotions” — ahead of her cycling, dance, HIIT and yoga workouts.

“You’ve got to make working out fun, do what you love, so it feels like burning energy instead of a job! I hear lots of people like listening to my music in the gym and it makes me so happy – it means it’s energetic and inspirational,” Twain said in a press statement. “That’s why I’m so excited for this Artist Spotlight series on Fitness+. So Giddy Up! And do what makes you happy!”

Other musicians who’ve had sets of Apple Fitness+ workouts dedicated to them include Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, BTS, Billie Eilish, Jennifer Lopez, Pharrell Williams, Ed Sheeran, The Weeknd, ABBA, Prince, Shakira, The Beatles, Nicki Minaj and many more.

According to the Apple Fitness+ website, anyone who purchases a new iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad or Apple TV (and hasn’t previously subscribed to Apple Fitness+) will have free access to Apple Fitness+ for three months before paying $9.99 monthly, or $79.99 annually. New subscribers who already have the aforementioned Apple products can get free access to Apple Fitness+ for one month. Apple Fitness+ can be shared with up to five family members.

Mariah Carey Releases “Live at the Tokyo Dome” In Celebration of 30th Anniversary of Her Debut Album

The 50-year-old half-Venezuelan American singer has celebrated the 30th anniversary of her debut album by releasing her full Live at the Tokyo Dome concert, which was filmed during her 1996 Daydream World Tour.

The concert film arrives in conjunction with The Rarities, a 15-track collection featuring a new song recorded during sessions of the #MC30 annivesary of the singer’s self-titled 1990 debut, “Here We Go Around Again,” as well as the B-sides “Slipping Away” and “Everything Fades Away,” a song from The Paperboy soundtrack (“Mesmerized“) and the Lauryn Hill collab “Save the Day.”

Andy Cohen’s Book Imprint to Publish Mariah Carey Memoir

Mariah Carey is getting her word out…

A memoir by the 49-year-old half-Venezuelan American Grammy-winning singer is on the list of titles from Andy Cohen Books.

Henry Holt and Company announced this week that Cohen’s self-named imprint will launch in 2020. It says the imprint will feature three non-fiction works by women.

Carey’s memoir will be about her journey to superstar status.

She rose to fame in the early 1990s after signing to Columbia Records and releasing her eponymous debut album, which topped the U.S. Billboard 200 for eleven consecutive weeks. Soon after, Carey became the only artist ever to have their first five singles reach number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart, from “Vision of Love” to “Emotions“.

Following her marriage to Sony Music head Tommy Mottola, Carey achieved worldwide success with follow-up albums Music BoxMerry Christmas, and Daydream.

The other works are The Queen V, by Dr. Jacqueline Waters, a cast member on Bravo’s Married to Medicine, and Bodacious Dreamsand Bevelations, by Bevy Smith, a former co-host of Page Six TV.

Cohen is the TV producer behind the Real Housewives Bravo franchise and host of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.

Holt is the publisher of Cohen’s three best sellers: Most TalkativeThe Andy Cohen Diaries and Superficial.

The imprint was announced in 2016.

The 48-year-old half-Venezuelan American songstress is one of the 2019 Songwriters Hall of Fame nominees.

Six songwriters, or songwriting groups, will be officially inducted at the Hall’s 50th annual Induction & Awards Gala in New York on June 13, 2019. Eligible members can vote for three non-performing songwriters and three performing songwriters until December 17.

Carey Reveals Track List for Her Greatest Hits Album “#1 To Infinity”

After releasing the album artwork for Mariah Carey #1 To Infinity, a comprehensive greatest-hits package consisting of all 18 of her Billboard Hot 100 No. 1s, the 45-year-old half-Venezuelan-American singer has confirmed its release date.

Due May 18 on Epic Records/Columbia Records/Sony LegacyInfinity reunites Carey with Epic chairman-CEO Antonio “L.A.” Reid, who helped spearhead Carey’s mid-2000’s comeback with The Emancipation of Mimi as then-chairman of Island Def Jam Records. In addition to Carey’s 15 Sony No. 1’s and three Universal No. 1’s, the album will include one brand-new selection, title track “Infinity.” The song will premiere globally on April 27 via all digital services, as well as a video directed by Carey’s longtime collaborator Brett Ratner. Carey is also expected to host a kick-off event for her upcoming Caesars Palace residency in Las Vegas on April 27, with more details to be announced shortly.

“I couldn’t be more thrilled to be back together again with Mariah,” says Reid in a statement. “There is really no one who comes close to Mariah as both a songwriter and a singer, and as the world knows, her vocal range is legendary and truly incomparable.  Her music is indelibly etched into our culture, and she’s shattered so many chart records that she’s now firmly entrenched in the history books.  With a fierce and loyal fan base that covers every corner of the globe, I have no doubt Mariah will do it again.”

Infinity is the first release in a multi-album deal with Epic, which Carey signed earlier this year. Carey will perform all 18 No. 1s for the first time ever as part of her residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, and is expected to pepper fan-favorite album cuts and previously never-performed tracks into each set as well. The first 18 confirmed 2015 performances are May 6, 9, 10, 13, 16, 17, 20, 23, 24; and July 8, 11, 12, 15, 18, 19, 22, 25, 26. Tickets are available at thecolosseum.com or axs.com.

Carey Gets Misty-Eyed in New “American Idol” Promo

It looks like Mariah Carey is feelin’ emotions in her new American Idol stint…

The 42-year-old Grammy-winning singer and new Idol judge appears in a new promo for the upcoming 12th season of Fox’s hit reality singing competition.

In the clip, Carey delivers a short inspirational message, saying “I always sang and I always wrote. It’s just about having that ambition. You really can’t let go of your dreams,” as footage shows her during the show’s auditions.

In one scene, a teary-eyed Carey says, “Do not make me cry.” She’s also moved by another Idol hopeful, praising him, “I felt every single word you sang.” To another promising talent, she says, “I know people are going to love you.”

Together with Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban, Carey joins Randy Jackson on the judging panel, with Ryan Seacrest returning as the host.

The new season of American Idol premieres on January 16, 2013 on Fox.

Carey to Receive BMI Icon Award

She’s scored more No. 1 singles than any other solo artist in history… And, now Mariah Carey will be recognized for her musical feats.

The 42-year-old part-Venezuelan American songstress, rumored to be a lead contender to replace Jennifer Lopez as a judge on American Idol, will be honored this fall as a BMI Icon at the BMI Urban Awards.

Carey will join a group that includes the Jacksons, Snoop Dogg, George Clinton, James Brown, Isaac Hayes, Little Richard, Al Green, the Bee Gees, Willie Nelson and Dolly Parton — selected because of their “unique and indelible influence on generations of music makers.”

During her illustrious career, Carey has co-written most of her biggest hits, a lengthy list that includes 30 BMI Urban and Pop Award-winning songs  like “Fantasy,” “Vision of Love,” “Emotions,” “Shake It Off,” “We Belong Together” and “All I Want for Christmas is You,which she re-released with Justin Bieber last year.

A whopping 17 of her songs have amassed more than 1 million performances each, including “Always Be My Baby,” “Dreamlover” and “Hero,” which have each earned more than 3 million performances.

Carey has scored more No. 1 singles than any other solo artist in history; and she’s second only to the Beatles on the all-time list. She also holds the record for the female songwriter with the most Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 singles in the rock era, totaling 18.

Carey is currently in the studio, writing and recording her next album for Island Def Jam.

The BMI Urban Awards are scheduled for Friday, September 7 at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills.
