Anuel AA to Make Feature Film Debut in Indie Horror Film “You Lose You Die”

Anuel AA is set to make his big screen debut…

The 31-year-old Puerto Rican rapper and singer, whose real name is Emmanuel Gazmey Santiago, will make his feature debut in Carlos “Spiff TV” Suarez’s indie horror film You Lose You Die.

Anuel AAHe joins previously announced stars Freddy Rodriguez, who also executive produces, and Ashley Elizabeth Fliehr (WWE star Charlotte Flair).

Shooting is due to wrap imminently in the Dominican Republic and the project will be shopped following post-production.

You Lose You Die follows sociopathic tech expert Mr. Fantastik (Rodriguez), who runs a popular show on the dark web with two other sociopathic tech experts, Ms. Perfect (Fliehr) and Mr. Creep (Anthony Alvarez). On the show, thousands of viewers vote on games and challenges for prisoners to participate in. If the prisoners lose, viewers vote on the weapons the sociopaths use to kill them.

In addition to Anuel AA who plays EZ Money, the cast includes Josh Bredl as Mr. Large, Sophia Zimba as Kara, Ashley Hernandez as Julie, Alejandro Duran as Alfonso, Noah Crider as Chase, Marcella Acuña as Christie, Mercy Grant as Darling and Lydia Faith Gomez as Jamie.

Rodriguez, Josue “Sway” Mendez and Ulysses Terrero serve as executive producers, with Mendez also producing.

Anuel AA is a Latin trap music pioneer. He recorded his debut album Real Hasta La Muerte (2018) which topped the U.S. Top Latin Albums chart.

He has collaborated with notable artists such as Daddy Yankee, Karol G, Ozuna and J Balvin. His hits include “Secreto” and “China.” He won the Billboard Latin Music Award for New Artist of the Year in 2019.

The 30-year-old Puerto Rican rapper and singer, who teamed up for capsule collaborations in the fall of 2022, has officially announced a long-term partnership with Reebok.

Anuel AA, The partnership between Anuel AA and sporting goods company will include a range of product collections and special projects, including original content creation, innovative design and activations, with the mission of enriching Reebok’s storytelling and connection with new audiences.

“As a lifelong fan of Reebok, becoming part of the brand is a dream come true,” Anuel (real name: Emmanuel Gazmey Santiago) said in a press statement. “I have long admired Reebok’s unique designs and iconic roster of collaborators who have never shied away from writing their own rules. In August 2022, Anuel AA debuted his sneaker capsule called “The Sky Above the Street” featuring two signature Reebok models: the Classic Leather and Pump Omni Zone 2 in red and black colorways – “inspired by the sun-faded vibrant urban neighborhoods and outdoor courts of Puerto Rico and celebrates the beauty of the community and its people,” according to a press release. Through the collection, Anuel donated to the local non-profit organization SER De Puerto Rico, supporting the organization’s mission of uplifting people with disabilities.

Of the new contract, Anuel thanked prolific basketball player Shaquille O’Neal—and a partial owner of Reebok—for believing in him.

YouTube Originals to Premiere “30 Days With: Anuel,” About Anuel AA’s Road to Success, This Week

Anuel AA’s success is being documented

YouTube Originals has announced plans to launch a new docuseries following the 29-year-old Puerto Rican rapper and singer’s road to success will premiere this week.

Anuel AATitled 30 Days With: Anuel, after the YouTube Originals franchise, the four-part documentary series, helmed by director Jessy Terrero, captures the Latin trap artist’s beginnings in the music industry and the story behind his arrest in Puerto Rico.

According to an official statement, “The project was filmed over 30 days during the final days of Anuel’s probation period, and his first week of freedom.”

On April 2, 2016, Anuel (real name Emmanuel Gazmey Santiago) was arrested on gun possession charges and denied bail, despite having a clean record. He was sentenced to 30 months, which he served in full, spending time in four different prisons in Puerto Rico, Atlanta, and Miami, with a brief stint at a halfway house. On July 17, 2018, he finally walked out a free man, just hours after releasing his debut album, Real Hasta La Muerte (on Glad Empire and distributed by The Orchard).

An Endemol Shine Boomdog production, the docuseries is executive produced by Alejandro Rincón, Javier Pérez Teuffer, Flavio Morales, and Miguel Batz, with Nicole Emanuele overseeing the Anuel miniseries for YouTube Originals.

30 Days With: Anuel premieres at 12:00 pm PT on Wednesday, December 29, on Anuel’s official YouTube channel, with a new episode premiering every week.
