Peso Pluma has new representation…

The 24-year-old Mexican singer and musician has signed with Creative Artists Agency (CAA) in all areas.

Peso Pluma’s debut album, Génesis, won the “Best Música Mexicana Album” award at the 2024 Grammys and landed No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart, marking the highest-charting Mexican music album in the chart’s history.

The album has also garnered a variety of other awards this year, including four iHeartRadio Music Awards and two wins for “Best Album – Regional Mexican” and “Best Collaboration – Regional Mexican” at the 2024 Latin American Music Awards.

In the past year, Peso headed off on a sold-out global tour, became the first Mexican artist to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards and won the “Best New Act” category at the MTV Europe Music Awards last year.

In 2023, Peso’s hit single “Ella Baila Sola” broke records by securing the No. 10 spot on Billboard’s All-Genre Hot 100 list, amassing an impressive 1.2 billion streams.

He currently holds the title of the fifth most-streamed artist globally, boasting over 60 million monthly listeners on Spotify revealing his popularity beyond the Spanish-language market.

Following his performances at Coachella and for Sony Electronics, Peso is gearing up for his North American tour this summer and headlining major festivals such as the Governor’s Ball, Sueños and Baja Beach Fest.

Additionally, his second studio album, Éxodo, is set to release this spring.

Additional accolades include four 2024 Premio Lo Nuestro awards, including “New Artist Male” and “Música Mexicana – Album of the Year.” Further, there were eight triumphs at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards, with Peso notably clinching titles like “Artist of the Year, New.” Additionally, he garnered five distinctions at the 2023 Premios Juventud, securing recognitions like “Next Generation Regional Mexican” and “Best Regional Mexican Album.”

It’s a clean sweep for Peso Pluma…

The 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards have been awarded, with the 24-year-old Mexican Grammy-winning singer sweeping all four awards in the Regional Mexican category.

In the field, Peso Pluma claimed the awards for Regional Mexican Artist of the Year, Regional Mexican Best New Artist, Regional Mexican Album of the Year for Genésis and Regional Mexican Song of the Year for “Ella Baila Sola,” his collaboration with Eslabon Armado.

Karol G, meantime, registered two iHeartRadio Music Awards wins.

The 33-year-old Colombian superstar claimed Latin Pop / Urban Album of the Year for MAÑANA SERÁ BONITO and Latin Pop / Urban Artist of the Year.

Ice Spice claimed the award for Best New Artist (Hip-Hop); Selena Gomez won Best Collaboration for her Rema-collaboration “Calm Down;” Robert Trujillo and Metallica won Rock Album of the Year for 72 Seasons, Shakira won Latin Pop / Urban Song of the Year for Bizarrap-collab “Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53;” and Young Miko was named Best New Artist (Latin Pop / Urban).

Karol G & Peso Pluma’s “Qlona” Rises to No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay Chart

Karol G and Peso Pluma’s smash collaboration is back atop the charts…

Five months after the 33-year-old Colombian Grammy-winning singer and 24-year-old Mexican Grammy-winning singer’s “Qlona” concluded its fifth week at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart, the collaboration rises 2-1 to lead the Latin Airplay chart dated March 2.

“Qlona” lands at the summit with a 17% gain in audience impressions, to 9.54 million, earned in the U.S. in the week ending February 22, according to Luminate.

It ousts Myke Towers’ “La Falda” from the top after one week in charge, dropping 1-2 with a 10% dip in impressions, to 9.5 million.

As “Qlona” reaches the summit in its 23rd week on the list, it wraps the longest journey to the top spot this decade, passing the 22-week trek that two Towers’ songs needed to their reign in 2020: “Bandido,” with Juhn, and “Bésame,” with Luis Fonsi. (The last song to take longer to reach No. 1 was Pedro Capo and Farruko’s “Calma,” which hit the top in its 24th week, on the April 13, 2019 chart.)

With “Qlona” on top, Karol logs the 17th No. 1 in her Latin Airplay career. The new champ arrives five months after her own “Mi Ex Tenía Razón” reigned for two weeks last October.

Peso Pluma, meanwhile, picks up his third, after “Ella Baila Sola,” with Eslabon Armado, ruled for one week last June.

Elsewhere, “Qlona” wins a first term at No. 1 on Latin Rhythm Airplay, marking a 16th win for Karol. It’s the second Latin rhythmic crown for Pluma, after the four-week champ “La Bebe,” with Yng Lvcas, in 2023.

Thanks to its radio haul, “Qlona” rebounds 5-4 on the multimetric Hot Latin Songs chart — which blends airplay, streaming activity, and digital sales — after five weeks in charge.

Xavi Becomes First Artist of Mexican Descent to Reach No. 1 with Solo Single on Global Spotify Chart

Xavi has made Spotify history…

The 19-year-old Mexican American singer-songwriter, who recently earned his first No. 1 on any Billboard chart, has become the first artist of Mexican descent to reach No. 1 with a solo song on the global Spotify chart.

Xavi, who hails from Phoenix topped the Spotify chart on January 2 with his single “La Diabla.”

This is the fourth time that a song with a Mexican artist has reached No. 1 on Spotify’s global chart, following Eslabon Armado and Peso Pluma’s “Ella Baila Sola”; Grupo Frontera’s “Un 100xto” with Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny; and Peso Pluma‘s music session with Argentine producer and DJ Bizarrap.

The music video for “La Diabla,” which was released in late November, has garnered more than 68 million views on YouTube.

The song also reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart, unseating Bad Bunny’s “Monaco.”

Xavi, whose real name is Joshua Xavier Gutierrez, first reached popularity following the release of his debut single, “La Víctima,” in August 2023.

The heartbreak song went viral on TikTok and peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart.

Now, he has more than 17 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

Xavi has been playing the guitar since he was 10 years old, according to his Spotify profile. In 2023, he performed at the Viva Pomona festival at the Glasshouse.

After releasing music independently, Xavi was discovered on social media by Interscope Records, which also manages artists like Karol G, Kali Uchis and Selena Gomez.

Peso Pluma Tops YouTube’s List of Top 5 Most-Viewed Artists in the U.S. in 2023

YouTube has unveiled its Top 5 Most-Viewed Artists in the United States in 2023, with the 24-year-old Mexican Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter leading the pack.

The música Mexicana (Regional Mexican) phenomenon comes in at No. 1 for the first time on the coveted list due to fans connecting through his live performance at Coachella, for example.

The artist born Hassan Emilio Kabande Laija had more than 8.5 billion views throughout the year, according to a press release from the platform.

The massive success that songs such as Yng Lvcas’ “La Bebe (Remix),” “Ella Baila Sola” with Eslabon Armado, the Karol G-assisted “QLONA,” “Lady Gaga” in collaboration with Gabito Ballesteros and Junior H, and “Rubicon” had in 2023 ultimately made La Doble P the No. 1 most played artist on YouTube in the U.S. this year.

He’s followed by YoungBoy Never Broke Again at No. 2, Drake at No. 3, Bad Bunny at No. 4, and Taylor Swift at No. 5.

Peso Puma, who hails from Zapopan, also scored two songs on YouTube’s Top 10 Songs of the Year list with “Ella Baila Sola” at No.3 and “La Bebe (Remix)” at No. 4.

The former also wrapped the year at No. 1 on the Billboard year-end Hot Latin Songs chart. Penned by Pedro Tovar about a man drawn by a woman’s beauty, “Ella Baila Sola” made history as the first regional Mexican song to dominate the Billboard Global 200 chart, where it led for six consecutive weeks.

Additionally, Pluma topped Billboard’s Top 5 New Latin Artists of 2023 list and was No. 2 on the Top Latin Artist of 2023 list, following Bad Bunny.

Jasiel Nuñez Earns First No. 1 on Any Billboard Chart with Peso Pluma & Junior H Collab “Bipolar”

Jasiel Nuñez is celebrating a special first…

The Mexican singer-songwriter has earned his first No. 1 on any Billboard chart with “Bipolar,” featuring Peso Pluma and Junior H, as the song crowns the Regional Mexican Airplay chart dated November 25.

The song’s radio uptick across Regional Mexican stations pushes it from No. 11 to No. 1 with 6.7 million audience impressions in the U.S., up 61%, earned during the November 10-16 tracking week, according to Luminate.

Among the strongest weekly supporters, stations WOJO (Chicago), KLNO (Dallas) and KLTN (Houston) take the lead.

“Bipolar” previously took Nuñez to his first top 10, among three chart performances, on the multimetric Hot Latin Songs, when it debuted at No. 7 last September.

For Junior H, “Bipolar” also makes for a fruitful team-up, as it becomes his first No. 1 on Regional Mexican Airplay.

Peso Pluma, meanwhile, picks up his second No. 1 on the Mexican radio tally, after the four-week champ “Ella Baila Sola,” with Eslabon Armado, which closes 2023 as the No. 1 song on the year-end Hot Latin Songs chart.

Fuerza Regida is celebrating an impressive Billboard Music Awards victory.

The Regional Mexican music group took home the Top Duo/Group award at last night’s Billboard Music Awards, beating out the likes of Grupo Frontera, Eslabon Armado, FIFTY FIFTY and Metallica.

Fuerza Regida also claimed the award for Top Latin Duo/Group.

Peso Pluma to Perform at This Year’s Billboard Music Awards

Peso Pluma is ready to bring Regional Mexican music to the masses…

The 24-year-old Mexican Música Mexicana star will perform at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards, which will take place on Sunday, November 19.

Peso Pluma will perform “Rubicón,” a corrido — powered by prickly guitars — from his chart-topping album Génesis.

The performance will include a special guest appearance by boxing legend Mike Tyson, who is a self-declared Peso Pluma superfan. Over the summer, Tyson posted a video promoting Génesis, saying, “Ahhh, it’s my sh–!” when one of the songs starts playing.

Peso Pluma is a Billboard Music Awards first-time finalist, and is up for five total awards, including top new artist, top Latin artist, top Latin male artist and top Latin album for Génesis, which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and spent 15 weeks at No. 1 on the Top Latin Albums chart, the most for a regional Mexican album.

He’s also a finalist in the top Latin song category with two entries there: “Ella Baila Sola” with Eslabon Armado and “La Bebe” with Yng Lvcas.

Peso Pluma was a top winner at October’s Billboard Latin Music Awards, taking home eight awards, including artist of the year, new.

Taylor Swift is the top finalist at the 2023 BBMAs with nods in 20 categories.

Bad Bunny and Peso Pluma are the top Latinx nominees (six each), with Eslabon Armado, Karol G and Selena Gomez coming in next (five each).

The 2023 Billboard Music Awards will have a first-of-its-kind collaboration with Spotify “Fans First,” which will bring fans up close and personal with their favorite artists. Performances and awards will roll out across the BBMAs and Billboard social channels, as well as via BBMAs.watch on Sunday, Nov. 19. Peso Pluma is this year’s Billboard Latin Music Awards darling…

The 24-year-old Mexican artist, a rising Regional Mexican music star, was the big winner at this year’s awards show claiming eight awards.

Peso Pluma’s awards Artist of the Year, New; Hot Latin Songs Artist of the Year, Male; and the coveted Songwriter of the Year prize, reflecting his more than 20 hits on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart.

Peso Pluma’s awards also included four nods alongside trio Eslabón Armado for their runaway hit “Ella Baila Sola,” which won Hot Latin Song of the Year and Hot Latin Song of the Year, Vocal Event, among other prizes.

Peso Pluma was followed in the number of wins by global superstar Bad Bunny.

The 29-year-old Puerto Rican superstar picked up seven awards, including Artist of the Year, Tour of the Year and Global 200 Latin Artist of the Year, as well as two awards for his smash hit “Titi me Preguntó.”

Next up in wins was Colombian star Karol G, who won five awards, two of them for her album Mañana Será Bonito as Top Latin Album of the Year. The set, which debuted at No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart — the first Spanish-language album by a female artist to do so in history — also won Latin Rhythm Album of the Year. Karol G also took home the Hot Latin Songs Artist of the Year, Female and top Latin Albums Artist of the Year, Female awards.

The four top winners — Peso Pluma, Bad Bunny, Karol G and Eslabón Armado — reflect the current state of Latin music, where urban beats are living high on the charts along with a new generation of Mexican music artists who have become global successes.

Peso Pluma Earns Third No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs Chart with Gabito Ballesteros & Junior H Collab “Lady Gaga”

Peso Pluma has another chart-topper…

The 24-year-old Mexican singer-songwriter’s “Lady Gaga,” his collaboration with Gabito Ballesteros and Junior H, rises 3-1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart dated September 30.

The song, one of 17 tracks from Peso Pluma’s Top Latin Albums No. 1 Génesis, gives Ballesteros and Junior H their first champ on the chart.

“Lady Gaga” advances to No. 1 on the multi-metric tally fueled by a streaming surge during the September 15-21 tracking week. According to Luminate, the song registered 13 million U.S. official streams; a 23% gain from the week prior. The gain pushes the song from No. 36 to No. 25 on the overall Streaming Songs chart and No. 2-1 on Latin Streaming Songs.

Sales also helped push the song up Hot Latin Songs: “Lady Gaga” gained a 33% in digital sales, to a little over 500 downloads sold, jumping 7-6 on Latin Digital Songs. Hot Latin Songs blends streaming data, digital sales, and airplay.

Ballesteros and Junior H nab their first No. 1s on Hot Latin Songs. Ballesteros previously reached No. 6 through the three-way collab “AMG,” also with Peso Pluma and Natanael Cano, in February. Junior H’s highest peaking song arrived with the co-billed “Luna,” likewise with Peso Pluma (chart dated July 8).

Pluma, meanwhile, claims his third champ and replaces himself at No. 1 as “Qlona,” with Karol G, drops 1-2, while “Ella Baila Sola,” with Eslabon Armado, falls 2-3.

Beyond its coronation on Hot Latin Songs, “Lady Gaga” rebounds 53-37 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 after its debut and peak at No. 35 in July, while concurrently ascends to a new peak on Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, from No. 24-16 on the current chart.
