Ice Spice Releases Highly Anticipated Debut Album “Y2K!”

Ice Spice has finally released her debut album…

The 24-year-old half-Dominican American Grammy-nominated rapper dropped Y2K! on Friday, July 26 via 10K Projects and Capitol Records.

Ice SpiceIce Spice’s 10-song set features previously released singles “Phat Butt,” “Think U the Shit (Fart)” and “Gimmie a Light.”

“Think U the Shit (Fart)” became Ice’s highest charting unaccompanied solo Billboard Hot 100 hit to date, and she performed the song and “Phat Butt” at the 2024 BET Awards, where she was nominated for best collaboration and video of the year for “Barbie World” with Nicki Minaj and Aqua, as well as best female hip-hop artist.

“I think this is some of my best work,” she told Billboard when she was named the 2024 Women in Music Hitmaker Award honoree.

“I’s not going to be too long — it’s going to be sweet and to the point.”

Y2K! also features collaborations with Travis Scott (“Oh Shhh…”), Gunna (“Bitch I’m Packin’”) and Central Cee (“Did It First”), the lattermost of which debuted at No. 62 on the Hot 100 dated July 27.

Scott recently previewed their collaboration during his London tour stop.

Y2K! comes a year and a half after her debut EP Like..?, which reached No. 15 on the Billboard 200 and No. 5 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and featured hit singles “Munch (Feelin’ U)” and “Princess Diana,” which later got a Hot 100 No. 4 remix with Minaj.

Ice Spice landed at No. 5 on Billboard‘s 10 Hottest Female Rappers Right Now list in June. And she embarked on her Y2K! World Tour earlier this month, which will make its way stateside next week in Washington, D.C., before wrapping on August 31 in Miami, Fla.

The 2024 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards have been doled out, with the 24-year-old half-Dominican American Grammy-nominated rapper picking up the first-ever Blimp Award of her career.

Ice Spice, a three-time nominee this year, picked up the award for Favorite Music Collaboration alongside Nicki Minaj and Aqua for “Barbie World.”

Ice Spice, who recently released her new single “Did It First” with Central Cee, was also nominated for Favorite Music Collaboration alongside Taylor Swift for “Karma (Remix)” and Favorite Breakout Artist.

 

Hosted by SpongeBob SquarePants (voiced by Tom Kenny) and Patrick Star (voiced by Bill Fagerbakke), the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2024 aired live from their undersea home of Bikini Bottom, and simulcast across Nickelodeon, TeenNick, Nicktoons, the Nick Jr. channel, TVLand, CMT and MTV2. Highlights included Kelly Rowland presenting Serena Williams with the Legend Gold Blimp award for her career spanning sports, fashion, beauty and lifestyle.

Ice Spice Releases Central Cee Collaboration “Did It First”

It’s first things first for Ice Spice.

The 24-year-old half-Dominican American Grammy-nominated rapper has joined voices with Central Cee to release their first collaboration “Did It First,” which was released on Thursday, July 11.

The song will be featured on Ice Spice’s highly anticipated debut album Y2K!, which will be released on July 26 via 10K Projects and Capitol Records.

“Did It First” is the fourth single after her Billboard Hot 100 top 40 hit “Think U The Shit (Fart),” the Sean Paul-sampling “Gimme a Light” and her latest offering “Phat Butt.”

Y2K! comes a year and a half after her debut EP Like..?, which reached No. 15 on the Billboard 200 and No. 5 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and featured her hit singles “Munch (Feelin’ U)” and “Princess Diana” (which later got a Hot 100 No. 4 remix with Nicki Minaj).

Meanwhile, Cench has hit the Hot 100 two more times this year, with J. Cole’s “H.Y.B.” (also featuring Bas) (No. 35) and his and Lil Baby‘s “BAND4BAND” (No. 18). He also recently collaborated with Afropop star Asake on “Wave.”
